Can't comment on BKK bank but unless rules have changed you do not need a work permit to open a FCA with SCB I have 2, US$ and AUD, but you can not trans to a baht account without visiting your branch.

When I returned to thailand after a 3 week holiday in Australia, I was asked by the airline staff when I checked in and had to show my retirement extension in my passport to be able to board the aircraft without an onward ticket.

Mauritius, a little more expensive but beautiful beaches, great food and landscape. Visa options are easier and less expensive than here as well.

One should never complain about getting old, it is a thing that a lot of people have not had the chance to experience.

From my experience here I have found it sooo much easier to just send via normal post, granted it takes a little longer but way less hassles.

It is not an offence to hold 2 current passports from one country. I have 2 friends who hold 2 current passports from Australia.

I am aware of a group that has done the trip from Chiang Mai pre-covid via , Laos, Cambodia into Vietnam. When I ask about the paperwork one of the guys said it was a nightmare. Laos is a piece of cake (I have done the trip twice) Cambodia a little more difficult and the biggest issue was Vietnam but can be done. Research each countries requirements and good luck.

I have a friend of many years that moved to Da Nang roughly 5 years ago. If you are not married to a national, have a work permit or business in Vietnam it is very difficult to reside there. Currently the only option is a monthly visa which costs $125US each and every month. He is currently in Cambodia to see if that would suit him as an expat. I will still keep it as a holiday destination but happy in Thailand.

There have been over 200,000 cases in South Africa and the information coming out of that country says it is a far weaker strain, 2-3 days just like the flu. The vaxx is weak against all strains.
