  1. The maximum sentence Yinguluck could have gotten was 10 years, the fact that she fled that says a lot about how much she cares about her movement.

I don't think everyone in this thread is fully aware of the amount of money that was lost by this scheme and the obscene amount of greed and corruption that was going on around it. This country is in an utter state when it comes to politicians and the nasty little elite that seems to have everything and as much as they want to fool you, the Shinawatras are right in amongst that little circle.

It will never happen to my kid. At the beginning of every term, my wife warns them and to communicate with us if my child needs correcting.

Every teacher is shown this document. Feel free to print and LAMINATE.

Interesting way to treat your child's teachers. To be frank if you came into my classroom waving around a piece of laminated paper and threatening me, I would be more than pissed off but I understand you are just looking out for your kid.

That's why the Thai education system is so backward. Chinese, Korean and Japanese students are already doing algebra at these ages, not singing in the classroom having a good time.

Thais do algebra at the approximately the same age as all three of the countries you mentioned, which is in Grade 6.  Can you please have a better understanding of what you are discussing before you decide to casually insult the country that you happen to live in.

Singing songs with  students is a very common teaching method both here and back home in Europe, I'm not sure what all the criticism on this forum or media attention across the country is all about. The times tables are a pain in the arse to teach and at least she is giving it her best effort which is a lot more than I can say about the majority of older teachers in Thailand who have been using the same methods year in year out for 20 + years.

A transgender university student was brutally attacked and robbed near Chok Chai 4 Market in Bangkok this week by a man she met on WeChat app who “didn’t look like his photos.”

Shivers down my spine!!!!! A transgender IMHO is never a she but rather an it. Sorry... not a PC guy here...

The fact that you would refer to another human being as "it" says a lot about your character. You must be a very spiteful, hateful person.

I've been looking around my local area for a condominium. I was going to buy one on the coast but having seen the prices for such small rooms had put me right off. There are plenty of smaller condo complexes all over Bangkok. I've been around 12 seperate properties already and for a large sized 2 bedroom, loungue, kitchen dining area, balcony and hallway your looking at less than 500,000 baht. For the same thing in Pattaya you'd have to pay 6 million baht. My advice is to look around. Buy cheap and then buy a car and drive to the beach.

Can you give me some examples of 2 bedroom condos you are finding in Bangkok for 500k? Always assumed you would be looking at about 4-6 million for that.

  6. Going through a flare up of my colitis at as usual the worst possible time and need to take a trip to the pharmacy. As people who suffer from this condition know Salofalk is really quite an expensive medication for a condition that is chronic. I saw mention of a generic version called Mesacol on a topic from a few years ago and was wondering does anyone know how the two formulations work differently? If you are taking Mesacol has it had the same effect for you as Salofalk?

    Thanks

To fill you in. We are falang,  paksida, gluay, sat, hien, and various other, more obscure insulting slurs. Africans are negro, chocolate, kon dam etc. Indians, I'm not sure of , but it's bound to be something quite unpleasant. Mmm, lovely place.........

Sat and heea have nothing to do with race and are very very common insults traded among Thais.

Indians are usually referred to as "beng / bang". Racism is a huge problem in Asia but I would say it is very largely directed towards Blacks, Arabs and Indians.White people like ourselves tend to escape the nastier stuff.

Nothing compared to what they do to each other. Rampant child molestation, spousal abuse, alcoholism, drug abuse etc.

What do you think causes this behaviour to happen in the first place?

Because their community is ridden with drug and alcohol abuse, it is OK to treat them like animals?

Interesting point of view, can't say I agree with it.
