CoR at CW for Non-O visa things (TDL, Bank account etc)
Update to share....bank account successfully opened with the following Passport w/entry stamp Non-O visa printout Home country address proof (used my drivers license) Local post-paid mobile number (my passport number & Thai rental address registered to this, checked via sms) Wasn't asked for but showed my TM30, local marriage certificate. Surprisingly, I wasn't asked for the lease or COR. I just went in to ask what they needed and they just helped open it. Done in about 45mins Em-sphere, yellow bank (krung sri).

On the account opening, assuming this was a Non-O spouse visa, do you recall if they asked to see the originals of the marriage cert or just copies? Thanks

Thx for the info folks, the additional visit to collect the COR certainly isn’t ideal. Send by mail would have been better….id pay for this if it were a choice!

CoR at CW for Non-O visa things (TDL, Bank account etc)
Entered TH last week on a Non-O Spouse visa and now need to open a local bank account for the 400k seasoning prior to doing my 1-year extension in May. A staff member at SCB asked me to produce a work permit plus proof of billing address from my phone provider so isn't versed in the Non-O process and I walked out. My Thai spouse works in BKK and rents a flat so the lease is in her name signed Oct 2025. Firstly - are there specific bank account types or names one opens on a Non-O visa? Or will any basic deposit/savings account do? Secondly for bank account - in lieu of getting my name added to the lease, I assume I get a CoR at CW given the lease commencement date doesn't coincide with my arrival. Is this the only way to prove my address along with our landlord's TM30 he issued after I arrived? For banks, can they not just accept a TM30? Lastly which form is used for the COR application - TM18 or TM20 (both are on the TH immigration downloads webpage)? TIA

Non-immi O spouse visa options
Noted - it's another option and the good thing is i'm not totally hamstrung which is what I assumed once I depart from Singapore.

Non-immi O spouse visa options
You mean convert to Non-O while in BKK? I assumed and likely misread somewhere I could only apply for this from my place of residence or country of citizenship.

Non-immi O spouse visa options
Thanks, I will look into this option and see if I can make this work as an alternative. l know the Thai embassy in Singapore does things quickly so that would be easiest at the moment until I exit, plus I’ve been here for many years and don’t have as much of a base (apart from family) in Blighty.

Non-immi O spouse visa options
Appreciate the response, thanks for your writeup. I've been overthinking this too much when I should be focusing on the actual exit-move and looking forward to our family time over the festivities. Totally intend to go for the O-visa asap as i've been in & out as a tourist over the past year which I agree it really doesn't look great.

Non-immi O spouse visa options
UK citizen living in Singapore and exiting-handing back my rental property 10 Dec and will move to BKK to live with Thai spouse, who's working there. I'm not working nor retired and have a dormant BBL account (had an O spouse visa a decade ago before we moved to Singapore for work). I am planning to apply for the O visa in Singapore and will arrive in BKK 10 Dec as my first entry. Will apply for the 1 year extension and multi-entry status next day in BKK before travelling to the UK 18 Dec and return late Jan 2026. Further travel in and out of Thailand is expected in February and March so the key is all travel ends back in Thailand. Is this 1 working week in Dec long enough to get the 1 year extension? Does Chaeng Watthana have an express service for these visa extensions (short of using an agent)? Second option if above isn't doable or necessary, apply for the O-visa in the UK when there in Dec (ie the festive period). Any ideas how long this takes to issue the visa in London? Third option - I enter as a tourist each time in Dec, Feb & March. On the March entry, extend (30-days) in Laksi, then further extend 60 day on "visiting family". And later in 2026, apply for the O visa in BKK? Can this be done without wife in tow as she works outside BKK? Thanks
