Yesterday I got a 1-year single entry Marraige Visa in Savannaket @ 5,000 Baht for their fast & friendly service. Had excess documentation and plenty of financials & photos that they did not ask me for, but they were mainly interested in original documents, which makes more sense. (The Aussie Embassy financial document is only a "sworn statement" by the applicant, which is quite simple to obtain). I will now apply for 'multiple entry' separately, otherwise I would have been stuck with 90-day border crossings. The new Thai Consulate (Palace style), near the Savannaket bridge is due to open soon, so maybe prices and conditions will change?? The Savannaket staff go 'out of their way' to help applicants if their is a problem; - I thanked them for their "Excellent Service."

Sadly, I have a son, who is a long term addict and has just wasted his life, when he was ready for a very sucessful military career. I do not blame him, but rather the break up of my marraige, where the children are the ones who suffer most. The ultimate truth is that you cannot cure an addict unless they decide to make a concerted effort to give up their addiction.

As a pro photographer & retailer for over 50-years I am making an unorthodox recomendation. The 'top of the range' Fujica is rarely mentioned but is siutable for pro photography (plus video work too if you attach a light & extension microphone). The Chinese made one sells for around $350 but has an annoying undersized 2.5 mm micrphone socket and quality could be a concern?? However the Japanese made equivalent with a 3.5mm mike socket is an excellet product at around $650 and both have similar very versatile zoom lenses.

Despite what some health professionals may tell you, Stem Cell treatment is the way of the future in medicine which will make many 'cut and sew' operations obselete. I have had this treatment in Asia for cancer and it was at a very affordable price. Some of the stem cell treatment methods I heard about in some western countries 'defied logical research' and would not be successful. For a specific problem you should contact an expert Chinese researcher of genetics & DNA, who works with one of the world's leading researchers on stem cell treatment. As an investigative journalist I saw ‘jet-ski rip offs’ daily in front of “Royal Garden Plaza” in Pattaya involving both visiting westerners and Thais, especially in late afternoons. Thin coatings of water soluble paint or putty disguised previous damage that was definitely not recent, with exorbitant repair and compensation fees being quoted. Police were often involved and victims were told to settle “now” to avoid additional costs, so Pattaya City Hall correctly advised that all complaints should be handled by their “Consumer Affairs Department.” However, after business hours, the unprotected victims were usually physically threatened by large numbers of jet-ski ‘staff’ and in Phuket a victim was threatened with a firearm. Similarly, helpful bystanders, who tried to intervene were often threatened, so one wonders if the somewhat biased statement by “petercool” was connected to some ‘volunteer police’ being dismissed for unethical behaviour or should he be “dope tested.”
it is interesting to see your comments all of which i have read in the local press . i cannot find any investigative journalist under the name of richard peters . are you based in thailand or just another story teller .
As an Investigative Journalist, - using your own name is an excellent way to end up in trouble or deceased. Some of the reports were written by me as a freelancer for different publications. Myself & associate journalists had plenty of photos and video footage and were often on the scene because the scams happened so frequently... PS.- I have now retired from "Sleazeville" to a more sedentry country lifestyle.

Australian ‘Yabbies’

Has anyone tried to keep Australian ‘Yabbies’ (small freshwater crayfish) in an aquarium in Thailand? Does anyone know where I can buy (young?) live Australian Yabbies here? There are four varieties and the West Australian “Red Claw” are the hardiest, so maybe they would be best, - Richard, -
