"While on the way back to Bangkok, he claimed that one of the front tires burst and because the inner lane of the road was under construction, making him unable to control the bus which skidded, flipped and overturned.

Police, however, said they would have to investigate to find out more about the cause of the accident."

No doubt the driver fell asleep or been drinking

I hope the killer will be arrested soon and we all would know why they did it. I think probably he has been involved in some kind of crime else why should they just shoot him dead? May be he has been asked to give them some protection money and he didn't , as he was driving Porsche so may be he is a rich guy

It was a set up this they were waiting for him they knew were he was and a motor bike was waiting for the killer. If they were after the porche they would have taken it but to walk up to someone in broad daylight with a gun and shoot a person can only say it was planned

........ Anyone who has had a fine and lost their license this year can go and pay it for the bargain basement fee of 100 baht flat rate. It is not for serious offences but for infractions like having faulty equipment, no helmet, using phones and the like ............

Who writes this stuff for the Peelers? Now a laughing stock with NO respect. Since when was faulty equipment (brakes, headlights and other mechanical defects) not a serious offence?

    Truly pathetic and laughable

Yes they should - bludging off another country is not good. How you prove you have the insurance could be tricky. I have a print out of my insurance with me when I travel; would not be hard to forge.

You must get insurance in Thailand my friend just come out of Bangkok pattaya and was a complete rip off just disgusting the charges I have another friend went in sattahip hospital and was much better and miles cheaper get insurance a must

  6. There are many insurance companies especially in uk who wont insure you now because of these kind of accidents so make sure you check you policy

3 golden rules for Thailand............Just keep off motor bikes in Thailand...........Don't hire a jet ski.................and don't buy a bar girl a drink you will get hit hard if your going to buy them one make sure you tell them same price as yours!!

  7. even been on british t.v. about this scam best option just don't hire a jet ski!!

I will say this one more time despite the expected vitriolic responses .... I once worked at Soi 9 police station volunteer desk (have since stopped doing that) and saw many, many of the disputes that ended up there. A very large proportion of the disputes involved real damage - often considerable - and the issue was always that the renters offered ridiculous compensations like 500 baht and/or no acceptable compromise could be reached. The "scams" on the beach that never reach the station (which is the last place the operators want to be) are not widespread even if regular and they are extremely difficult to judge in terms of whether real damage has been done, what is proper compensation if damage has been done and how to resolve things. It is a City Hall issue and until proper regulation is put in place the issues will remain.

    That is totally wrong.

I remember being down the beach many times watching the scams being carried out.

In fact I was even sitting on the beach with my gal one day when they scammed a bunch of middle class Thai kids. And believe me it was disgusting the way they surrounded them and intimated a bunch of young girls.

Wake up mate just take a walk along the beach and watch the farce in action.

And of course the police are silent partners with many of these operators as well.

Heck I often see the police chatting with these guys and laughing and carrying on.

It is blatant extortion nothing more nothing less.
