Thanks guys, I'll check out the streaming services you mentioned. Through Tune In radio (one of the main free services that are often recommended by the hi-fi companies) I usually access Heart Radio, Chilltrax, Dancewave, Radio 6 and many others. The stoppages are prevalent across all of them equally. The streamer itself is a built-in Audionet DNA2 amp/dac/streamer, but the same happened with a much cheaper and more basic Logitech Squeezebox. I have noticed the "reception" becoming much less smooth now than it used to be 1 to 2 years ago though. No idea why this is.

I use Tune In radio through a hifi streamer (so unfortunately no way to use a VPN).

I've got high speed AIS fibre optic, but using internet radio through my streamer is still a problem. It plays, then stops, and plays and stops like it's buffering. I have no idea why it's such a problem. Internet speed is fine. Anyone else have this problem?

There is only one real Aladdin's cave for vintage mid to high end, and that's in a condo building in a soi behind Fortune Town. It's called Mister Balance. They moved from Pantip a few years ago.

What happened in your instance?

I've had a few pieces of hifi that needed repair. The latest is a 90s Sony SCD1...a huge CD/SACD player which was top of the range at 5000 GBP I think. A nightmare to get parts for and even take apart. The other item was a Meridian MSR remote control that stopped operating after daughter dropped it on the floor! I took them to P&P Audio (3rd floor of Fortune) whose technician repaired my Meridian CD player drawer a few years ago. They kept the items for over 2 weeks and no joy at the end, with them saying they needed new parts...but couldn't tell me what parts. I go the impression the technician couldn't be arsed to look at them properly. So I found another place...a really nice cheap in Rangsit operating from home. Watt Audio Handcraft is the name (found on facebook). Long drive, but within 24 hours the guy had fixed both. People ask regularly where to get audio repaired, so I feel I must recommend this guy.

The brands you mention are really department store brands and not high end at all, so Fortune will be no good for you. If you want proper hifi go to Piyanas in Fortune…they have loads of choice in the 30k price bracket up to some high end, otherwise it’s Facebook marketplace. an integrated solution (Naim, Cambridge, Elac, Nad, Arcam) are good, convenient and suitable for condos. However they’re not much fun. A proper hifi system in a decent size living room is fun because you can sell\buy components to hear the improvements in sound each time.

Update: I reset the minix box and installed Streamio. It works fine and I can watch most films. The only limitations I can see are: 1. I have very few add-ons available to stream, the main one being Pearlo. 2. There seems to be no filter for the movies like there are in the Crew etc...so I can't just select new movies or in theatre.

I'm getting totally frustrated with my Minix android box with Kodi and The Crew, Shadow, BBC iplayer etc. etc. It used to work so well, but now Nord (for the VPN) takes ages to open and there are no streams available to watch any movies using any of the add ons. Even BBC iplayer no longer works due to errors. Using my ipad it works fine. I have no idea why this is. Previously, I paid for debrid in an attempt to get round the error messages but that didn't work either. What's the score with these add ons never working now? Is it time to find another solution to stream movies, if so, which option?
