I stayed in BKK several times in Furama Sathorn SHA+ Hotel. Only a 3 minute walk from BTS Chong Nonsi.

 

They also offer a 1 Day "Test and Go" for just 3.590b inclusive 3 meals, Transfer from Airport to hotel and PCR Test.

I booked direct on their homepage and received immediately a booking confirmation that i used for the Thailand Pass App.

They should add a free covid vaccine shot during the quarantaine period.

 

That would maybe attract some more people especially the younger ones that have to wait long long time for their vaccine shot in their home countries.

In this aticle they are writing tourist must quarantine 2 week in their home countries and NOT in Thailand.

In England trials for a vaccine from Oxford Univetsity have started  with humans already but they are afraid the results will be worthless because Covid disapper already too fast even from GB.

USA have already ordered 300mio doses!!!

 

And possible long term damage from a vaccine are even not examined.

They want to make the vaccine available this year but how you can be sure you not get cancer in 3 year as a side effect from the vaccine?

 

To develope a safe vaccination and make it available for humans it takes normally several years with all the testing, not months like now with Covid.

Yes i am happy.

I never claimed anything since i was never sick but i know someone who claimed money for an operation and it was refund to him within 2 weeks without problem. He even did not informed BDAE before the operatiom what he should have done. They paid anyway and just informed him before the next operation to give just a short notice.

And it is even possible that the insurance company settle directly with the hospital if they get in touch.

I received a TIN in BKK last year and they just printed a small yellow paper card with the no. + my name and adress in thailand.

If you apply for a Non Imm OA in germany, for example in frankfurt thai embassy you need exactly min. 20TEUR cash or other assets. You can check it on their website

You could also apply for an extension of stay based on retirement if you're in Thailand on a non Imm O entry unless there is some reason that you prefer the O-A.

 

 

The reason i prefer the OA:

 

1. No need cash money in TH but in germany, frankfurt its sufficient you have 20TEUR of assets. Can be cash, stocks bonds ect. on any account anywhere.

 

2. The OA gives you 2Y of stay in TH not only 1Y with the extension

 

3. Very little paperwork necessary with the OA in germany. I received the Non Imm O ME in Berlin by an agent since i dont have a residence in germany. The process was very smooth

 

Berlin is asking for 20TEUR cash on bank for the OA for a period of 3 months which i did not have at the time of my application thats why i applied for the O because for thatthey asked only for 5TEUR cash.

1 month later i learned that the Frankfurt Thai Consulate they require 20TEUR of assets only.

I have tried a  couple of lawyers to obtain a TIN and both looked very bemused whilst explaining there is no point in bothering.

 

My reason for not trying the revenue office directly is I travel within LOS for most of the winter and spend 4/5 Months back in Europe , so although I am over 183 day most years , I don;t have a permanent address.

 

Would be interested if anyone else in this position ,that could offer any insights

 

 

The only reason why i applied for a thai TIN was, that some banks are asking for it and i want just to be prepared in case my banks should request it in future too.

I did it in bangkok revenue office without lawyer but with a thai friend.

As reason for asking for thai a TIN i told them i want to ask for return of withholding tax on my thai fixed deposit account.

 

I showed them my rental agreement, thai driving licence, bank book and passport.

First they asked me for work permit which i not have. What they need is a proof of adress so any other document would be good e.g. certificate of redidence from immigration

 

PS: I am not sure if i really will make a tax declaration for this withholding tax since i have the TIN now and the tax is not a huge amount.

Most people file and pay tax in their home countries. Before the money ever arrives in Thailand....  

Plus if someone's withholding tax on interest or dividend is 100kpa at per say on a modest 2% return that's like 250 million in the bank. With that sort of budget there are far better places to retire than Thailand...

 

If it is withholding tax on a return of 100k then Thailand it is. For me anyway..

 

My home country is TH. I have no other residence. 

The money is invested on SG and EU accounts mainly in bonds (my only dource of income). Non of them is deducting any tax/withholding tax nor i have any tax liability in this countries because i have no tax residence there.

 

Since i not bring this income to TH the same year earned, i have no tax liability in TH too.

 

Therefore all my income from investment i 100% tax free.

 

PS: This year i applied for a TH Tax ID in Bkk and received it in 10min.
