  1. Warren Buffett (one of the richest american investors) said: If class warfare is being waged in America, my class (the rich) is clearly winning

There is a class war in Thailand: The rich elites in Bangkok (and everywhere else) are winning.

It´s sad to see how the Thai people are brainwashed by a military dictatorship. The rich elites and the military always talk about to protect: Nation, Religion, King - but it´s just about money and power.

There is no peace in Thailand. It´s a war against the poor.

  2. Social inequality the main problem in Thailand

The richest 0.1% of Thailand own half of nation's assets. In Thailand is a extreme gap between rich and poor. When this problem is not solved there will be never real democracy in Thailand.
Many citizens of Thailand are totally brainwashed. (TV,Newspapers,Social Media) The govenment and military always talks about to protect King, Nation, Religion but it´s just about power and money.
Find this interesting link from a Thailand Newspaper.
  3. Politicians may be allowed to air their views

wow, what a headline! It´s really funny how the the rich elites in Bangkok (and everywhere else) always talk about: Nation - Religion - King

I think it´s clear for all intelligent people it´s just about money and power. They use the military to avoid real democratic change.

Why are ther are no progressive/left-wing parties in Thailand? Are Thai people free to found parties?

  4. Hello,

maybe someone from Thailand can answer me following question:

Are there any progressive/left-wing movements here in Thailand. Something like: Labour Parties, Social-Democrats, Democratic-Socialists or a kind of Green Party?

From my observation there is a lot of social injustice in Thailand. I have spoken to some Thai people and they told me that they basically have no worker rights.

There are a lot environmental problems. Which movements are concerned about this topic?

Are these movements allowed in Thailand ? Are people in Thailand free to found parties? How is the situation with workers union?

Thank you in advance for any information to this topic.

  5. Quote: From now on any illegal migrant workers found in Thailand "will be arrested and deported", Thai army spokeswoman, Sirichan Ngathong said. "We see illegal workers as a threat because there were a lot of them and no clear measures to handle them, which could lead to social problems," she said.

and now my true story to this topic...

In a small town the head of police visited every month different companies. (mostly construction firms) and collected money. (bribe) The police knew all the companies where these "illegal" cambodian or burmese workers live and work. Why? Because these companies who hired so called "illegals" work together with the police. These "illegal" workers get around 200 Baht for one day work.

Who makes the biggest profit ? The construction companies and the police.

Who is the social problem ? The company owners ? The "illegal" workers ? The police ?

There is an interesting Thai saying: The only shame in Thailand is to be poor. So we can blame these "illegal" workers for beeing poor. The company bosses and the police are the winners because they make the big money.

I hope the military junta also understand this problem in Thai society.

The problem in Thailand is the concentration of wealth because it leads to a concentration of power that undermines democracy.

  6. Hi people,

    I need your advice.

How is the situation at border crossing had lek to cambodia?

Thanks in advance for your help

    Tom

I prefer tourist visa but I really have no space in my passport !

  7. Dear Rick.

it´s possible, that very well hidden, deep down in your heart, you care about this planet and the human race. smile.png

I always try to understand different opinions and learn something new.

You wrote: "U.S. environmental activist groups are a $13-billion-a-year industry."

Why is this a bad thing ? I really don´t get. Why do think, that we are manipulated by some force ?

Maybe there are rich, poor, left, right, believers and atheists who just care about this planet and try something new.

Your opinion sounds a little bit like: man-made climate change doesn´t exists it´s just manipulation from left-wing environmental groups.

What´s wrong with: save energy, find new alternative energy resources, recycle waste, grow organic food, bring more quality in life and less quantity !

I know some of this projects are not successful in a economic sense but you can learn from mistakes.

... and now the famous black and white view

progressive people: try to find new solutions to old problems and are open minded

conservative people: don´t like change and are sometimes a little bit stubborn tongue.png

    Tom

Big Green spends far more money on its War Against CO2 than Big Oil or the cash-strapped Koch brothers could ever possibly bring to bear on the matter.

As Paul Driessen noted: "U.S. environmental activist groups are a $13-billion-a-year industry — and they’re all about PR and mobilizing the troops. Their climate change campaign alone has well over a billion dollars annually, and high-profile battles against drilling, fracking, oil sands and Keystone get a big chunk of that, as demonstrated by the Rockefeller assault.

Fortunately, their efforts are like a solar farm in South Wales -- high cost for very little return.

  8. Quote Rick Bradford: Big Green is now one of the biggest and best-funded networks on the planet,

I wish so much that your are right but it´s still the military/industrial complex. Please also research the political activities of the Koch Brothers (Heritage foundation,Citizen united) then you really know who are the manipulators and the prophets of profit.

In the USA the Republicans and Christian fundamentalists are the biggest deniers of man made climate change.

... and now the simple black and white view:

Intelligent progressive people are aware about the dangers of man-made climate change/poisoning planet earth.

Conservative/christian fundamentalists follow their own agenda and propaganda.

    Everyone can decide for himself.

  9. Nowadays scientists and media don´t use the term "global warming". The actual is term is "climate change" or "extreme weather".

Extrem Weather/Climate Change is one problem. The other problem is that we are poisoning planet earth and destroy the future for our children.

The old industrial countries done this for decades. The new developing countries (China,India, etc) have the same "right" to do so.

More and more people from the so called left, right, liberals understand that we have to change something.

Our greed - our so called modern civilization is like a disease. The human race is like a virus who attacks planet earth.

    The right cure/medicine???

I try to be less greedy. It´s not just about me. I try to understand the network of relationships where I live. (other people, animals, nature)

I try to live balanced. A society just based on profit is inhuman, sickening and a little bit sad.

    Tom

the whole idea of "global warming" is the manipulation of world bureaucracy: Albert Gore, left-liberal NGO's, group of scientists, America corporations, lobbying so called "environment-friendly" technologies (which in most cases is simply not true: for example the damage of manufacturing a solar panel + accumulator is much higher than burning the equivalent amount of gasoline) and other fear mongers who make there small business on intimidation of general public.

the reason why US supports this - it's a good instrument to suppress the industry of developing countries.

western left-liberal propaganda uses all of it's arsenal to discredit it's opponents: intimidation, manipulation by media, stigmatization of opponents as "denialists" and much more

weather statistics shows that Earth climate is cooling during previous 10 years but they still can't give up trying to intimidate the world community.

    Kyoto protocol should be denounced

  10. What is your agenda? What propaganda do you follow?

All serious climate scientist are 95% percent sure that this is a human made climate change. Specially the big oil business manipulates the media. They don´t want a change from a oil/fuel industry to more environment-friendly energy.

In the USA you have a lot of crazy christian fundamentalist who deny human made climate change.

By the way even when you deny human made climate change it´s smart for the human race to take better care of planet earth.

    Greed,corruption,stupidity,ignorance destroys planet earth.

    Tom

Time for this BS Propaganda to be exposed for what it really is, $$$$B'S For Corrupt Corporations whom Heavily Lobby our Corrupt Governments around the World. Luckily some have woken up. It's a Cycle, nothing more. rolleyes.gif

  11. Reminder to myself: I´m a falang and know nothing.... politics are a dirty business and you can trust no one.

One problem in Thailand is that the so called "democrats"/PDRC/Suthep are not a big role-model for honesty and fair play in Thai politics.

Why Thai people should trust the "democrats"?

I´ve have heard the following story and maybe someone can tell me if it´s true?

It was in a faraway kingdom: When the PTP came back to power in 2010 is that it still had to deal with the legacy of the 2007 "Democrats" party. When Abhisit/Suthep took over the government, the first thing they did was to suspend the constitution and "reform" it; the second thing they did was ban the red shirts leadership from politics for five years and banned them from the 2007 elections. That enabled the Democrats to make unopposed appointments made to create the independent agencies like the EC which did not exist before. The NACC and the courts. This political senate is the only body that can remove members from these institutions but it requires a jurisdictional organization to investigate, charge, and judge guilt such as the courts.

Nowadays Suthep/Abhisit talk again a lot about reform before election. Has any one heard of concrete reform suggestions?

A lot of people talk about reforms, reforms, reforms - but it´s just empty chatter when you don´t say what you exactly want.

Could it be that they want to make this "reforms" before election because some of their ideas are unconstitutional and undemocratic?

    Tom

  12. Cambodia take fingerprints at the border.

Cambodia also has e-visa (visa for 30 days) and they make good money with it.

    Thailand what is your problem?

Border fingerprinting ? I dont think so somehow cheesy.gif

why not the American's do it...the equipment to do this is not expensive/electronic and info just goes into the immigration data base they are already using, you already have your photo taken coming into Swampy, so implementation of this is not so difficult

  13. What is wrong with you people ?

Can you for one moment forget your political opinion.

Someone died. Wait until you know more what really happend.

    R.I.P

The war is in your head!

    Tom

These anti government thugs are making the Red Shirts look like Saints.

    Especially when they explode !

  14. Hi,

you find visa services almost in every hotel/guesthouse and at the embassy . It´s about 2500-2800 baht.

It´s very easy to do it yourself. You go to embassy with photos and you just pay 1000 baht. (2 months tourist visa)

I think the visa service in Vientiane is overpriced and somtimes it takes longer. (2 days). When you do it yourself you can pick up the visa the next day.
