UNBELIEVABLY RIDICULOUS!!!

It should all start with a stable political system and the tackling of corruption to under cover programs to make sure they catch those corrupt authorities to having visible police monitoring areas by foot, bicycle or horse (tourist areas and party areas) etc...

There's so much more that must be done internally...they cannot provide safety to tourists by focusing on the tourist themselves! What they speak of will push the tourist away...not bring them back.

Why would I go to a country as a tourist where I must wear a wristband for my security?!

My eye's are wide open now and I don't like what I see.

Yes, very good to see that people trying to make an income to support their

families making business with the agreement of the local [corrupt] administration

are now finally brought about their ability to make an income.

Surely the military will give them adequate opportunities to run their businesses

What amazes me is how easily people can be deported from Thailand - usually within a few days. Perhaps the West should learn a few things from Thailand. Look at how long it took the UK to deport extremist Muslim cleric accused of terrorism charges, Abu Qatada - more than 10 years and DGP 1.7 million ............ including legal for AQ of nearly GBP 650k!! Look at the immigrants who enter Europe each day! No chance here of pulling a fast one ......... time learn from Thailand!

This article is pathetic. Yesterday the police claim its media tips and social networking that is hindering their investigation. Now they say its helped them.

They claim to be looking for people during 2-4am yet the coroner said no time of death could be made since they froze the bodies prior to the autopsy.

And how in the heck can someone make a vow that no one would be killed? Especially since the killer/s are still roaming free?

Village Headman = Mafia local mafia boss on a place like Koh Tao. So yeah, very impressive.

I can only speculate that the international coverage coupled with pressure from someone like the PM Prayuth are the reason for this. I cannot recall any similar arrests of relatively influential people in cases such as this (perhaps others can?).

Good news for the victims family, and a step in the right direction for Thailand.

Why only negative responses? Personally, I think there is a hell of a lot more police work being done than is publicised and instead of being so critical, why not let the police/investigators do their job and if anything, be positive. So, unless any of you 'nay' sayers know exactly what is going on behind the scenes, would it not be best to keep quiet about it?

so did they take dna samples from the 2 guys that were said to be the guilty parties as claimed by the guy that was a friend of the deceased and now claims his life is under threat. I mean if these two are innocent surely they will allow the police to take dna to eliminate them or are they too well connected/wealthy to be even considered by the police........

According to the Bangkok Post, some of the flooding is due to the Chinese increasing the rate of release from one of their dams by 900 percent. Maybe Thailand can give some of those Chinese a free visa to come and see the flooding they're causing.

you need to show either 400,000 bht in your account or at income of at least 400,000 ie pension or another reckonised income of sorts validated by the embassy i showed income going to my santander account and then transferred here
