do you have some reliable source for yours statements about the flag and the national anthem?

I have read some differents versions about that.

Anyway i strongly doubts that a few old links between the 2 countries explain

and justify the presence of gogo dancers from the east (Not sure at all they are from Russia)

outside of all the immigrations and work permit rules

Finally found it, I remembered reading it but forgot to save the Link...u can read it here

Rama V’s son graduated from a prestigious military academy in Russia which may be the reason Thai ceremonial military uniforms resemble the Russian ones. A Russian composer wrote the music for the Thai national anthem (it is now the Royal anthem). And Rama V himself visited St. Petersburg.

The colours of the Thai flag are the same as those of the Russian flag. Some people believe that the three colours symbolise the same things in both countries: red = people; white = religion; and blue = monarchy.

I wonder if plane loads of Russian hookers will be arriving to reinforce the ones who work as go-go dancers in Pattaya's Walking Street and try to drag punters into their bar to get ripped off.  I never understood how they can work so openly.  Surely this is a job that Thai women/ lady boys can do without the need to import foreign specialists?  I can't believe they all have Thai citizenship.

Because most people do not know the history between Thailand and Russia....Thailand National Anthem was inspired by Russian & the Flag was Inspired by Russia...If you see Russian and Thailand Flag they are very similar..

As early as in the late 1870s King Chulalongkorn of Thailand on numerous occasions expressed his wish to establish permanent diplomatic relations with Russia. Russian naval officers whose ships periodically came to Bangkok carried to the Russian Tsar the first royal letters containing a clear intention of the Siamese government to develop bilateral trade, diplomatic and cultural cooperation with Russia.

  3. Stop Monsanto: Join the first massive US research project studying glyphosate's health effects on humans.

Glyphosate – the main ingredient in Monsanto's Roundup herbicide – is a particularly toxic substance that causes a range of health problems in humans, including cancer, autism, birth defects and at least a dozen other serious illnesses.

Roundup has been around since 1974, but sales began to skyrocket after Monsanto developed its Roundup-resistant GMO technology in the 1990s.

Since then, America and much of the rest of the planet has been deluged with millions of tons of glyphosate – the most heavily-used agricultural chemical in the history of the world – and 25 percent of it gets dumped on the United States, even though we account for only 5 percent of the world's population

Glyphosate: a 'wrecking ball' to the human body
Dr. Stephanie Seneff, an MIT senior research scientist and environmental toxins expert, is known for having documented the link between glyphosate and autism. She also believes that glyphosate is responsible for many other chronic diseases whose rates have soared in recent years, since the introduction of glyphosate. Dr. Seneff labels glyphosate as "the most significant chemical used today," and one that has the effect of a "wrecking ball" on the human body.

    From Pompa:

"Glyphosate is what Dr. Seneff calls a 'monster molecule,' and affects human biology in many ways. ...

"Dr. Seneff believes that glyphosate exposure is catapulting gluten sensitivity into epidemic proportions."

Aside from its effects on the gut, glyphosate has been linked to liver, kidney, pancreatic, thyroid and colon cancer – as well as ADHD, Alzheimer's, birth defects, brain cancer, breast cancer, diabetes, heart disease, obesity, Parkinson's, multiple sclerosis and more.

Meanwhile, the EPA – another agency bribed into doing Monsanto's bidding – continues to quietly raise the acceptable levels of glyphosate in our food supply. Fifty times the amount of glyphosate is now allowed on corn than was permitted in 1996, for example, and the total allowed amount has increased by a factor of 17.

  4. At Least, you can avoid some issues by scanning and targeting the youngest Immigration Officer and NEVER A FEMALE Immigration Officer.

It's not a PC move...but it works....All the problem I had at immigration was with a lady immigration officer or an old guy.

The younger they are, the better....They usually do not care that much unless its very severe...for small small problem, they do not bother - its very much like in day to day office job - The young folks do not care too much about paperwork.

  5. I waited three hours, arrived on 10th feb ... i had single entry tourist visa, earlier, it took me literally 2 minutes to get the visa....now, its hellish....be prepared, its due to chinese new year, should be over by 18th of Feb, many new flights added which lands in the early morning. It was a nightmare....Chinese tourist, as usual jumping queue and even the number of immigration officers were just 50%

Correct me if I'm wrong mate.

This visa has nothing to do with IT

"The five New S-Curve industries are automation and robotics, aviation and logistics, biochemicals and eco-friendly petrochemicals, digital businesses, and medical hubs"

I'm heading for the biochemicals in the near future;)

And while we are on it, SKYPE is not Estonian invention...

The NEW S-Curve Z-Curve or All Curve Would Need Big Data and Cloud Computing..Without IT no Automation or Robotics would take off....Digital Business is IT ..duh???

Yes, We are on it and SKYPE was Developed in Estonia so is Transferwise

  7. I waited for this visa for like Six months, since the news came around August and I NEVER EVER thought I would be this disappointed.

IT IS THE SAME STATUS QUO as was BEFORE

Where is the Equation with RISK...

The IT Industry was BUILT on RISK not on Laws and Status Quo.

    Where is the Mavericks Visa?

Mavericks built the entire internet not people who love 9 to 5 jobs ...

No Country wants to take Risk on Human Ingenuity...Even if 100 People Fail...Thailand needs one guy to succeed and put the country on Map..Like how Skype was invented in Estonia and now Estonia is the second most popular start up country in Europe with a population of just 1.3 million.

I can't work in Europe due to Cold Climate which my body cannot handle it properly as i get sick most of the time there. Thailand will FAIL in this as many have noted as most likely people who could succeed are 20 year olds with no 200k Salary and No PH.D background...

Bottom Line..MONEY RULES...Not Creativity...Smart Visa Puts you in Reverse Gear With Everything with the meaning of what Renovation Stands for..

A guy who has 200k / month Salary ...WHY WOULD HE THINK HARD to Innovate anything ..lol.....Necessity is the mother of invention..:stoner:...This visa is a JOKE to me personally as far as Innovation is concerned

Apple, Microsoft, Google were all built in a garage ...those guys never had 200k THB/month salary

I was referring to your suggestion that somehow, since Duterte had arrived on the scene, commuting had improved.

I don't know the make-up of the 200 billion dollars you are suggesting, but I assume much of that includes the long-proposed metro from BGC to Makati - long proposed in that it was on the cards long before Duterte got in power.

I would like to see the figures about Duterte's infrastructure spend to date - can you point me to those?

So today's rampant corruption will affect the future then - and syphon off much of this 200 billion dollars you refer to.

Just go here..You will get all the stats

He has done more in three months in office than all the presidents combined.

The question really to ask is...Are Filipinos inferior to the west?

When Filipinos have no issues with his way of work..then why is west have problem...

Every Filipino you ask is SUPER HAPPY now a days.

Are you sure about that? The 1 hour it can take me to get the 3 km from Taguig to Ayala each morning suggests very differently. Have you tried EDSA anytime between 7am and 9pm lately?

Here's a tip = if you are of Western appearance, best keep your head down when passing the traffic enforcers or you are definitely going to get pulled over for a shakedown.

What has Duterte got to do with it?

The previous regime...aka the puppets of western countries did that to Philippines.

Duterte has increased infrastructure spending more than any president.

In next six years...Philippines will spend over 200 billion dollars to improve infrastructure...More than all presidents combined.

Its bad now, which is due to corruption in the past.

  10. Its part of tourist attraction....I really want to see how ladyboys rob you...It can't be that simple...common...You have sex with me...NO...then snatch your wallet or chain...1,2,3...Its harder to get a freelancer here

Since, last two days, I'm walking the usual hunting places of robbery past 1 AM beach road and no one is approaching me...I'm keeping my wallet out, chain out but with ZERO money...just to experience ladyboy snatching ...I don't believe it can be that simple...

When you are out to get robbed with no money in wallet...no one robs you...strange...:stoner:

  11. Do people even read here...

Around that date the Dutch Department of Justice starts an investigation into the business of ‘The Grass Company’ and Johan van Laarhoven is named as prime suspect.

During this investigation, the Dutch police execute several raids on the shops, offices and homes of the coffee shop chain and several telephone and e-mail taps are being used and houses searched.

The investigations by the Dutch Department of Justice are not focusing on drugs, but mainly on tax-evasion and money laundering.

According to the Dutch head Officer of Justice, Charles van der Voort, part’s of the daily turnover was being kept away from the official accounting by ‘The Grass Company’.

These investigations by the Dutch Department of Justice took place over a period of 4-5 years, with no official claim or prove of any wrongdoing by ‘The Grass Company’.

It was the Dutch government who started legal proceedings against him..Thai's were not interested but they kept on pressuring them

What a GIANT LOAD OF LIES BY THE DUTCH

This liaison police-officer, on July 14, 2014, sends a rather misleading letter to the Thai Officer of Justice in Bangkok.

This letter tells a totally different story than the official request for legal assistance.

Yeah Yeah. How convenient..Since the Dutch were not getting any help from Thai's they convinced Thailand of him being a Drug Suspect so that he could be arrested. They were jealous as he was a free man and not sucked into Dutch TAX System which is actually the real MAfIA...

Europeans are fed up of illegal TAX System which is used to fund illegal immigrants to your own country and destroy it your own money.

Why are people being so retarded now that Dutch People are protesting..The government is acting as if they are they Good guys...

Its the DUTCH government who faked him through the letter as being a DRUG SUSPECT...WAKE UP...As a result he was arrested.

  12. Call me racist ..I don't care...I'm Indian and I know the truth.

This whole night life, going out for fun, vacation is a farang thingy...Its part of farang culture.

Honestly, When farangs go out at night, its way past our bedtime in India :shock1:

Farangs really know their sh*t when it comes to having fun.

I only go to farang bars, farang owned condos, farangs restaurants and never had issues with robbery, bill padding etc. in Pattaya.

Pattaya was created by farangs not by Thai, Chinese or Koreans...Why would anyone be that stupid enough to not know this. Its because of freedom offered in Thailand, it boomed but the contribution of Thai's to this whole concept is ZERO.

To all Asian's..If you don't want to be ripped off, scammed, robbed or pushed...Endorse Farangs owned places...and you will just do fine.

As an outsider...I see way more honesty in Farang business in Pattaya than others. This would not have happened, if this resort was manged, owned by a farang.

  13. I'm Asian...Really, farangs hold all the "cards" in Asia as far as tourism goes....

Only problem is Farangs are not united in there "Cause"...They need to create something like

Farang Asian Front For Freedom and Human Rights

    YOU NEED ONE VOICE .

If farangs enmass threaten to cancel their retirement visa without giving them rights...THEY WILL LISTEN TO YOU>

    Its really everything in UNITY.

  14. As an Asian....I don't know how to put it...but farangs really do hold all the cards, they are just not united in a cause.

Farangs can easily create the atmosphere of Pattaya for example, anywhere...lets be honest here...I'm Indian and when farangs go out at night...its way past our bedtime....I'm serious here. Its not Asian culture per se to go out, explore and have fun day in and day out...Our DNA will not allow it...I need some days break before I could go out at night again....

Nightlife culture is a farang culture...Thailand is merely benefiting from it...

See, Angeles City. ...lots of expats, even Cambodia is coming up now...

Farangs can bend the rules in Thailand, if they are united.....

Indians, Chinese, Koreans will all follow suit..once the farangs go away as they create the entire atmosphere that Thailand is so famous for.

  15. These guys are making it harder and harder for cops to not raid nightclubs, bars and restaurants...Thai's are losing trust and good guys will loose eventually as is the history of the world..

Good Guys will always pay one way or the other for the misdeeds of another human being...and then farangs wonder why Thai's have more and more fake smiles ...

You really think that exchange girl will smile anytime soon when exchanging money with another farang ??

  16. Its sad..Most Foreign Exchange survive on mere margin of less than 1% and that girl who did the exchange will pay for the loss...as owners will eventually put the blame on her...

They have to do 100s of transactions to break even...

Why is everyone after poor people...why don't they rob trillion pound banks in UK than prey of poor people from third world countries...

These exchange could even close shop if they don't pay rent...

People from the west do not understand the dynamics in Thailand...and wonder about THAI LOGIC....Thai Logic kicks in due to these low life's...now they will have to decrease the exchange rate to make up for the losses

  17. Farang's never succeed outside their Bubble in Europe and America. It takes a real man to make it in poor third world countries.

I see only Chinese making it and are billionaires in Thailand. They understand the game.

You pay to these guys as you are not paying High Taxes, High Vat like in Europe. You still profit and enjoy 24/7 sunshine, plus food and beach. You cannot do business with a western mindset.

Most businessmen pay the visit before they visit you...Its lot cheaper and builds trust...and you have to do it once or twice a year...Its not bribe..Its building connections.

100s of western business fail for this simple reason. You cannot put your western moral code in Thailand...

  18. This is how it rolls in poor third world countries..if you don't like it ..you are always free to go to liberal, politically correct, human rights upholding Europe and America anytime :clap2:

Where the beer cost 4 Euros and girls 100 Euros for 1 hour and ohh yeah, you party with a cover charge , -10 degrees and crap vibe crowd...

This is needed to maintain the status quo....

    Thai-Chinese are NOT stupid...

So what do really people want here..NO passport checking, No urine tests, No closing down venues and it becomes the mecca for illegal migrants, drug dealers and criminals.

The low life live in these areas..so with regular checks....it make sure that, no criminals can have their "FAVORITE HUNTING GROUND"....With frequent raids everyone are on the MOVE...

Criminals cannot just call buddies and say...lets just get drunk, sell drugs and steal in Climax tonight

I support this regular raids...keeps bad guys out...Climax has been raided before and its back as usual..
