Comparing Brits in Thailand to Eastern european's in the uk is a joke. Thailand makes lots and lots of money from Brits and there are very few jobs we are allowed to do there, we are tourists and we don't get any state handouts.
People forget all the Eastern European migrants in the uk that have families and are on low wages get family tax credits, free schools, free health care etc etc. Does the tax they pay cover all of this? I am sure it doesn't.
The ONLY thing we have in common is we are foreigners in a foreign country. The nearest thing Thailand has to eastern europeans, is Myanmar but they are not given 1% of the rights that the eastern europeans have in the UK.

If they're working what's the problem? They'll pay tax and contribute to the economy just as the Poles and other EU citizends have done.
The problem is the poles, Romanians etc will work for a lot less than Brits and will put up with harsher conditions, making the minimum wage the norm and taking away any rights the workers had.

A few years back I was riding up the second road in the middle lane when there was a car coming the wrong way down in the far right hand lane, just before kiss food, as it passed me I looked over my shoulder and bang, an American with a Thai girl on a cbr smashed straight into the front of the car. The American died instantly, but the girl was thrown off and landed in the road, injured but nothing more serious than a broken arm. Nearly made me sick on the spot. Horrible avoidable incident.

It is Thailand and I would talk to them with respect unless I wanted to make my problem worse, I doubt she did.
