Power is out in Chalong now for over 2 hours. Fed up of paying first world prices for third world services.

B-Quick tire chain is founded and owned by a Dutch guy similar to a similar chain in Holland.
If you have it send him a email as he would be very interested in your experience.
If you want i can try to dig up his email address.
Sure, PM me his email address and I will send him a scan of the 500 baht bill as proof.

I should add that it was extremely hot out and I was on my way to a meeting so did not want to get too sweaty changing the wheel.
The waiting room was air conditioned and away from the area my car was. Anyway, I received a call today from head office apologizing for this price and delay and they said they would contact the Thalang manager. She agreed that 500 was excessive. My point is that when you get used to a certain price here, be aware that there are always places that will screw you because you look like you don't mind paying 5 times more.

I have written to head office asking how they could charge 500 baht when most places charge 100 and whether they think 90 minutes is a reasonable waiting time given their name.
Sent from my iPad using Thaivisa Connect Thailand

I found another slow puncture this morning and after close examination saw the head of a screw in my front tire (tyre).
As I had an important meeting and the tire was getting soft I stopped at the closest place that could fix this (near the Thalang Tesco).
The name of this place indicates rapidity preceded by a letter of the alphabet. I signed a form and was told to wait in the waiting room.
Half an hour later I saw my car had been lifted to eye level but nobody had yet touched the offending wheel.
An hour later I started pacing and looking at my watch to show that I needed to be somewhere else. 90 minutes later I was handed the bill. 500 baht! I exclaimed that I had had this procedure done many times and that it never cost me more than 100 baht. He smiled and claimed there were two screws removed but had no proof to show me.
I asked for a printed receipt, which caused a bit of worry, but they finally give me one (dated 01/01/1901). I rejoined my car and saw that as a final insult they had slapped a sticker of their yellow logo on the rear screen without asking... Never will I return to this place.
You have been warned.

So she dislikes "uncontrolled development, and the growing numbers of foreigners" yet her dream is "to return to Phuket and open a boutique hotel and coffee shops".
Then she considers "Europe is my second home now" but thinks that here in Thailand " too many of those outside cultural elements could cause our own way of life to be affected and irreparably changed".
Talk about having your cake and eating it....

"Dtac now has over 15,700 base stations across Thailand. Over 5,000 of them will be 3G enabled by the end of the year."
Says it all really...

Well, you can always get an cut/sprayed cat to your home. Cat's are pretty defensive for their territory and do not allow other cats to come to your home anymore.
Don't want a cat and a tomcat will beat the hell out of a splayed cat
Get a dog!

A noisy waste of money IMHO. Tired of the noise here!

I believe it is a vacuum cleaner but the brand name is Bissell, Chrome tube and bag would fit.

did you have a proper invoice?
He, he - good question. And do you need a work permit to do that?

Great tacos and another fun night... Thanks Rick 'n Ryan!
-
Had another great night last night. Thanks Ricky! Rick 'n Roll is a classy place with classy acts.
-
Have already apologized personally to Ricky for not turning up but I was having a slight medical emergency which I hope will be sorted enough so that I can attend tonight.
As a regular customer I already know what I missed and can only wonder why there was such a low turnout. Something to bear in mind next time someone starts a thread suggesting a TV get together.

I'll be there plus Mrs Baabaabobo and 1 sprog.

He has even commented on this as his PLAY OF THE DAY...

Great news on a Monday. I hope the other kid gets help too.

I have had my Mac mini for a couple of months and it is great. A big plus for me was that it has an HDMI port that I have linked to my TV for real HDTV.

Which media are you quoting?

I had exactly the same experience except that my car was registered where I live.
Police report first (free)then a visit to local vehicle registration dept with blue book and said report.
It cost a couple of hundred baht which they give a receipt for and it takes about 3 weeks for a brand new license plate to be made which you collect from them.
Meanwhile you keep the receipt in case you get pulled over.
