My letter was based on the example stickied at the top of this forum. The itemised bills take up a few pages and I've only submitted 3 periods of Facebook/Skype as an example of the dail y communication.

I will perhaps move the list of documents to a contents page

Hi All,

Me again - I'd be grateful for any advice on my sponsor letter and list of documentation for my girlfriends application for a visit visa for the UK. I think I have the application form number wrong. I have followed advice on here, so hopefully all will be ok. For communications I have included examples not the whole lot - mostly showing times we have called etc and the dates.

Any advice on how to improve would be appreciated

I've just spoken to a friend who works at the UKBA and processed applications before it was privatised.

Basically less is more, give them what they ask for, don't give them enough to question and your be fine.

Id redo your application stating you communicate daily and provide sample ranges say 2-3 samples of 10-15 days. Obviously make sure those days raise no concerns.

I use line localphone and occasionally my phone which show the communication but not the detail. In the case of my t mobile bill it even helps price I was with my gf because it has the original of the calls and texts and where they were sent to.

On the additional comments part of the application do you simply point direction to the evidence or make some form of statement declaring your intentions?

Sorry this really will be the final point.

In my letter of invitation and documentation of an ongoing relationship should I mention that the itemised phone billing I am producing in some way shows that I was indeed in Thailand and with my girlfriend when my passport stamps etc say I was - or will this complicate matters?

Thanks the child is not coming. But I'm hoping the fact she has one, alongside a business, propertt and wedding plans all makes a concrete case for return

One final point on this - she has in the past been to other countries with visa restrictions and always returned - although not with me - should this information be included as evidence that she has followed the rules before?

So just stating the applicant has a child will be enough? No further proof needed?

Hi all,

Thanks to everyone for the advice so far! A couple of things I need to clear up

1. If the application is submitted online is there a limit on the time we have to get the hard copy and evidence into bangkok? We are planning on doing this in March but I want to start the process ASAP.

2. Am I right in assuming you can do the online section in English?

3. Is it worth paying for the express service?

4. My parents will be sponsoring the trip etc - should I say although they are doing this I am in work as well and provide proof?

5. Proof of return is property ownership not wanting to muck up future visits, getting married and a child. Will quotes for wedding venues prove this and for the child should we include the child's birth certificate?

6. Finally! I've asked before but should English documents be translated to thai? I assume all thai documents owt need an English translation?

That price if for certified translations...in Chiang Mai about 300thb/page..but...if certification is not necessary will be a lot cheaper doing it with an English student or a Thai English teacher....

One would imagine a lengthy appeal process to any case lost. Plus Cameron and the rest of the right are foaming at the mouth over European courts.

Expect a public backlash to be hyped up in the media and government to ignore any ruling - they have to as they tack toward fascism to appease UKIP and there backbenchers many of whom elite be a typical salary is £60k

One last question - with the supporting documentation does it all have to be in thai and English - for example my letter of invitation will obviously be in English but the letter from her sister detailing the money will be in thai so should I translate these into the other language?

Thanks 7by7 I've read the basics and am pretty confident all the bases are covered I won't be applying until my next visit to Thailand in 2 months a

- or is it best to the online in advance of this.

Just a decide question. If she was sponsoring the trip herself how long would the money need to be in her bank account to make it look legitimate

It won't be my money but a loan repaid by a family member.

And would this situation make the visa easier to be approved?

She runs one while the other was brought for her family to work in, I guess we could say she oversees it as all the accounts etc are done by her and names on all the paper work.

Hi Guys,

Been reading this site for a while now while researching obtaining a visitors visa for my girlfriend on her behalf. The help and advice provided by posters such as 7by7 has been more than helpful, although despite my searching I've still a few questions that I'd need some help with, please!

I have a stable income and have been in the same job for over 2 years, however I am overdrawn, but only a small amount which is around half my take home income, so basically it's serviceable - will this effect any sponsorship application?

If the answer is yes, my parents are happy to provide this support, I currently live at home (which they own outright) so accommodation/food etc is no issue and I understand how to detail this.

Now, many people say a letter from a boss granting time off is needed as (one of many) reasons to return to Thailand - one question- my girlfriend is the boss, she owns a hairdressing shop and a bar which younger members of her family run - so will records that the businesses are in her name be ok instead? She also has a daughter (although I know this isn't always seen as a compelling reason) and a house/car/motorbike all in her name so I assume when this is all combined it will be enough of a compelling reason?

She can also provide previous passports which demonstrate she has visited other countries (although not UK) and returned as per requirements which I believe we should also submit?
