Great advert for Thai tourism ... jump through all those hoops but we don't actually know what they are so you'll have to wait until we decide ... those 150 people will now tell 10 of their friends which becomes 1,500 ... those 1,500 will tell 10 of their friends which will become 15,000 ... those 15,000 will tell 10 of their friends which will become 150,000 ... and so it goes on. Won't be long before all of China knows what a total f'up this STV is.

Well, someone who evades sales tax on just over 2 billion dollars for the sale of on of his companies (AIS) and someone who orders a large plot of land belonging to the government sold to his wife, which is illegal because government employees are not allowed to do business with the government, and nonetheless for only a third of the price the government paid for it doesn’t deserve to be the leader of a nation and in most other countries he would’ve had to step down over that!
Oh and by the way, if you think you have to welcome guests of his majesty on his 60th coronation day celebration and have your own TV station spend more broadcasting time showing how you welcome said guests despite the fact that you were only a guest yourself and had no official function at said celebration and this after more or less months of open rebellion against the king then please don’t be surprised if you get ousted!
Also, his ludicrous “war” against drugs in which there were thousands of extrajudicial killings make him a fricking murderer!
That guy never was suitable to be the leader of a nation despite his business merits because he’s corrupt through and through!
Sounds exactly like the rest of the politicians in Thailand then!!!

Whatever you think of Thaksin and Yingluck they were democratically elected and then illegally removed from their position. He/she may have done some wrong but then I reckon so have a lot of politicians and not necessarily Thai ones. Don't even get me onto the bunch of lame jacka$$es currently running the country ... sorry correction ... not running the country.
Thailand does not like democracy because it usurps the power of the elite, those people that are getting richer by the day while the rest of the country descends into economic chaos which is now being blamed on Covid. Yes of course that has impacted but you can't cover over the cracks that were already there from years of corruption and mis-management and stupid fiscal policies that made no sense.
The whole upper echelons of Thai society need a good boot up their backsides because they don't give a damn about the serfs and their suffering but they bl@@dy well should. Unfortunately that is Thai culture and has been for 100's/1000's of years. You can't change that overnight but it's about time someone started to try.

The problem with only admitting "rich" tourists is that these people will stay in upmarket places and use appropriate services so will not venture anywhere near places like local beer bars, street vendors, motorbike taxi's, small restaurants, normal taxi's, excursion operators etc which is where the "touristy dollar" is badly needed. Once again Thailand is pandering to the rich and entitled and not giving to hoots about it's "grass roots" people.

The Thammasat University massacre, or ambiguously-worded the 6 October event was a violent crackdown by Thai police and lynching by right-wing paramilitaries and bystanders against leftist protesters who had occupied Bangkok's Thammasat University and the adjacent Sanam Luang, on 6 October 1976. Official reports state that 46 were killed and 167 were wounded, while unofficial reports state that more than 100 demonstrators were killed.
I do hope that history won't repeat itself

There's a desk near the ATM machines at the entrance to Tops Supermarket in Soi Khao Noi, Pattaya which regularly has numbers of cards on it that have been left in machines. There's a Security Guard that looks after them until they are reunited with their forgetful owners.

I'm with you. What I don't understand is their rationale about why they do it! The facts are there to be seen on a day to day basis yet they still look through their rose tinted glasses and see nothing being done wrong. They should remove those glasses and take a look at what's really happening out there ... the rich getting richer, the poor getting poorer, the lack-lustre economy (even before Covid), contemptable act in outlawing FF, continued endemic corruption, purchasing of unnecessary military hardware, the silencing of democracy activists ... need I go on?

national recovery must be accelerated
Here's the answer
1. All of you non-elected MP's resign
2. Revoke the joke of a charter
3. Hold a snap election
4. Get a democratically elected Government
5. Appoint some competent Ministers
6. Plan the recovery
Easy when you know how
