Did the Beach Rd closure/2nd Road 2 way traffic scheme go ahead at the weekend? When I first heard of this I checked my calender to make sure it wasn't April.

Just seen on their website that they are staying open untill the sale of the bar is completed and then the owner plans to open a new Climax Bar somewhere.

I'm being a tight wad as they are charging £28 per entry, thought I may get away with just the one entry. thanks chaps.

If I get a single entry 60 day single entry tourist visa here in blighty, when I arrive at Xmas can I initially enter on the ordinary 30 day visa exemption, then toddle of to another country after a week or so and then re enter Thailand using the Tourist visa?. The second half of my holiday will be the longer stay in Thailand. Thanks in advance.

On the other side of the road from Easyriders,going south about 200 yards, by the little open air market, there's a little music bar. The band plays rock and the bassist is Nok who used to be in the Climax band, they usually know who's where and when, the often play up at Easyriders after they finish there.

Known about this for a while now, Afraid to say that they won't be coming to me.

I'm happy with my new line up which has a guitarist that is new to Pattaya and they are doing fine, no need as yet to bring in any other known musicians in Pattaya.

The word is that the owner of climax is having a break then they will look to reopen elsewhere.

(sad thing of course is that its turning into a bloody gogo)

I would imagine the band will find a new venue fairly quickly.I don't know who owns the Climax but maybe it was a rent/lease issue?.Theres always somone who thinks they can make a fortune by opening up yet another go go .Look forward to checking out your new band after Xmas.

Just seen on their webite that tonight (23 Nov) is the last night for music at the Climax bar, my favourite music venue. I jsut hope the band get somewhere else quickly,(you reading this Dave?).

As the various parties start their campaigns for the Dec 23 elections I was wondering who is in the frame, and depending on the result,whats the chances of civil unrest again if the "wrong" side wins?. There seem to be a few of Toxins old mates pulling strings in the background, and if their people win would the Military allow them to rule? I think not.

I was wondering how the 30/60 days of visa validity include your arr/dep days,or is your first day the day you arrive or 24 hrs after arrival?

You can't beat the street theatre in Patters. Anything that annoys the prissy, sanctimonious, holier than thou, Pattaya bashers that inhabit TV is fine by me.

You don't have to go there, Thailands a big place, plenty of places for you visit or hang your hat.

Wonder why they dont send the police down to take a peak at "DIFFER" (the Thai elite club near Big C) and do a drug test. Last time we were there, people were smoking weed and snorting coke right in the middle of the club for everyone to see (and smell). Actually this was the first time I have ever seen a pattaya club where drugs were that obvious.

If you are an "elite" Thai with money and influence you can do what you like,the law only seems to apply to the the less well off and farangs.

If the elections happen on 23 Dec I wonder how it will affect Xmas revellers fun. I presume the bars will close on election day, and then there is the possibility of unrest after the results are declared depending on who wins or loses, early closing clampdowns anyone?. Could be interesting times.

Two friends have flown out in the last 6 weeks, one with Thai and one with Ethihad. Both said the flights were very empty, they were both able to have 4 seats to themselves and stretch out to sleep,nice.. Although both said the flights back were relatively full.
