It seemed she was an elderly woman being pushed around by her son. He must have had a reason for trying so hard to get her to sell the house. If she was getting very upset, the heat getting to her and beginning to get sick then she needed help. You live in a Thailand so long you get used to staying out of other peoples business even if it means someone might get hurt. This elderly woman could have easily died. Old people can be frail and all she wanted to do was go home but her bully of a son would not have it until he got his money(my supposition). If my mother came out and she was not happy and wanted to go home, i would send her home. Unless one has some ulterior motive to make her stay against her will, that is how a good man/son takes care of his mother.

This guy loves the spotlight. I'm betting he's going to be gunned down in no time. If he were a mexican politician, he, his family, his pets, everything would be dead by now and his fields burned and soil salted. I am certain there are very powerful drug cartels that will want him gone. One of these being the CIA.

No, as the article states it's due to increases in certain large cities that have ongoing gang wars.

This probably just pertains to police murders and violent crimes against citizens.

100b a day? I've done it. Gets a bit boring but it's possible on less even. 3 mama noodles a day with cut up tomatoes and some other veg and you have a good meal. You can even splurge on a pad thai once in a while. I usually budget 400B a day and rarely go over. I don't smoke or drink. I live in CM old town.

I would move.

I lived at The Bow Chiang Mai House for over a year. Monthly rate is 6000 plus 100 for water and 6baht per unit of electric. Low (cool) season electric not expensive. They have big rooms with good AC, small fridge(make sure to ask for one), TV with 2 english movie channels and 3 other english channels, big bathrooms with recessed floor in shower(hot water of course), small balcony, closet, free coffee/tea/bread-butter-jam for toasting by hot water pot. It's located near the N/E corner of old town (soi 9, moonmuang road). Fun area and easy walking distance to Night Bazaar area as well as 2 malls to the west. I doubt if they post monthly rate on bookings but email direct for reservation or just show up. Nice place. Taxi 150 from airport.

Reminds me of the way Tongans name their kids. Names like bicycle, cigarette, dill, bread, water are not uncommon. Fun fact☺.

Www.meetup.com has a listing of many social groups that get together. I'm sure you will find a few groups you can try.

My 90 day was due March 27. Totally forgot about it. I was going in to get a re-entry permit for May. I assume i will also need to file a 90 day before the re-entry permit can be issued. Can anyone tell me if there is a fine for reporting late on the 90 day?

I would like the shrimp to come to me looking like the picture in the menu. No shell, legs, head, poop. Nice and clean.
