  1. I've not heard of any pedestrians being injured by a speeding motorcyclist on the sidewalk.

On the other hand, I've heard of fatalities caused by speeding and reckless motorists, van drivers etc etc.

Anyone else think that the traffic police have their priorities wrong?

    No they don't.

If you look at the road death stats you will see that consistently over 70% involve motorbikes.

Please provide a link for your source! Also i wonder even if 70% IS the official number - how many are motorcyclists hit by idiot car drivers who've never taken a test!!

  2. A month of things getting better, a month of people getting slapped so they will think again and a month of cops getting used to coming down on biker violations .... seems like a good thing.

If they cant find motorbikes on their pavements they can always blame some Burmese migrants and plant their DNA on the pavement.....seems like a good thing!! As long as the Police get to pocket the fines!!!!!!!

  3. I would love to know what infractions they are getting nabbed for. I assume it is only things that can be caught by a cop at a roadblock or at a corner of an intersection. All the dangerous stuff is consequence free, unless there's a crash.

"I assume it is only things that..."

Just replace "assume" with "speculate" to get your justification for police bashing.

Father in law a policeman is he?

  4. trust the reds to come out in favour of an amnesty, considering they were the ones that did all the killings and and blowing up of various areas its not surprising. No amnesty for anyone that broke the law fullstop, the only way to get over all this crap is to make sure those that committed offences go to jail otherwise they will simply keep doing it.

you have forgotten that the courts determined that the military killed people in the temple, have you? You have forgotten that yellow shirts have killed and bombed, haven't you.

There was enough violence to go around and it was far from one side.

No one is going to enforce justice against yellow shirts or the army.

Of course if the 'PM' declares an amnesty, I'll be one of the most surprised. He is interested in suppression, not reconciliation.

Hard to forget when theres no evidence in the first place - only red shirts kill and bomb!!

  5. This is an absolutely understandable cry for help back home from two young boys in a foreign country facing life imprisonment, or worse.

We cannot obviously be judge or jury.

We can only allow intuition and empathy to guide our feelings, and the way the case has already been handled, probably most of us on this forum, plus countless millions around the world, already feel that their guilt is in doubt.

If they are found not guilty, the credibility of the authorities, and the 'convincing evidence' will be in tatters. Worse, the murderer(s) will still be at large.

If they are found guilty, and if the evidence is not absolutely irrefutable, the world and the media will react accordingly. In this case, their letter sent to Aung San Suu Kyi will add considerable emotion to this.

In either scenario, Thailand's already battered image will be at stake.

Whatever, let us all hope that for the sake of the accused, and the bereaved families involved in this tragedy, that transparency, honesty, and absolute justice will prevail.

YES!!!!!!!!!!! and those are the reasons why the contrived evidence will be railroaded through and the British will not challenge it - THEN after theyve been given the death sentance - it will be repealed and Thailand and the Police will come out looking like lenient models of virtue

  6. <script type='text/javascript'>window.mod_pagespeed_start = Number(new Date());</script>

meanwhile another party at the AC Bar last night and another farang beaten up there by three Thais and hospitalised off the island this morning- a first hand eye witness account!!

Please share more details on this

I dont know the cause but three guys in AC bar took out one farang last night because something was said. The man was taken off the island by boat this morning. I heard this from someone on the island who was at the bar last night. The same source said there was also trouble there on Saturday night

  7. Mmmm, the man in charge of the military's crackdown on protesters in 2010 whose urban protest clearance tactics included the use of snipers marksmen and live fire zones, states that his handpicked NLA are to promulgate a law that will dictate "how authorities can deal with protesters"......................

    What could possibly go wrong?.................................coffee1.gif

the police won't enforce them, maybe?

Not that old chestnut, I suggest you do a bit more research and take the apocryphal tales you read on here with a bushel of salt...............................

Much like your own falsehood posts!!! Good to see you still rambling away after all this time!!! By the way - the marksmen were from your side - just as the grenade launchers and the arsonists as well as the black shirts - bit more research needed from you I think!!

  8. Tak Bai - shinawatra piled them into trucks and made them lie in the sun till they died - "no ...... no ....we not do..........them fasting ramadam" said the small square headed murderer!!!!!! No wonder theyre angry - Also read your history book about Japan and Malaysia - everybody know it started before but Shinawatras made problems 1000 times worse then lied again!!

  9. You cannot access this incident with western or first world standards. lift analysis, operation licenses . These incident will conti ue to happen due to the third world mentality, gross incompetence and corruption within construction industry in this part of the word. It will not change , you can do as many lift analysis as you like , people will still die. Serious legal consequences , fine and imprisonment with proper enforcement is what is required. And as mentioned with the people running the companies in with politicians, that is not likely to happen

surely your not suggesting construction cranes in the West don't collapse ? and for the very same reasons you state for Thailand and SEA,

a quick look at U-tube will prove other wise, my friend, cranes like this collapse all over the world for the same reasons, in review of these western crane collapse's go an see what the "legal" consequences where with respect to fines and imprisonment....thumbsup.gif

If you wish go an compare the number of cranes of this type that collapse in Farangistan versus Thailand and SEA and come back and tell us the numbers..wink.png

Just for the UK alone off the top of my head, and this is in a country which has some of the most rabid Occupational Health and Safety officials on the planet...thumbsup.gif

    Liverpool tower crane collapse

    Canada Square crane collapse

    Batersea power station collapse

"Two construction firms have been sentenced after a crane collapsed onto a city centre apartment block in Liverpool, resulting in the crane driver being paralysed from the waist down." first six words sum up the difference they didnt rush to throw a tarpaulin over so no one could see - also quite a statement that you had to go back11 and 5 years to find incidents in the UK - obviously a TOTALLY different scenario
