Anyone growing day lily plants (Hemerocallis)? Do they grow well in Thailand? I'm in Chanthaburi province. The flowers look beautiful and apparently they're super-easy to take care of. Did you grow yours from seed?

did you look in the mail for the Visa Debt card the treasury is using?

<<For example, if you owe $700 in federal income taxes for 2020, a $1,200 stimulus tax credit would net you a $500 tax refund.>>
What if you don't owe anything? If it's a $1,200 stimulus tax credit you'd get all $1,200 deposited your account? That'd be nice. :0

I got the initial Stimulus check and Notice 1444 delivered to my Thai address with no problem. I never received my $600 Stimulus Check, nor Notice 1444B. Anybody else have this problem? It looks like now my only alternative is to claim it as a deduction on my taxes - bummer. Sure would have liked that cash.

FINALLY APPROVED! Hey guys, after 7 days received email (I hadn't checked for days that's why I'm first posting this) that my 90-Day online was approved. This was the message in my email "ผลการแจ้งที่พักอาศัยเกิน 90 วัน ของท่าน มีการ อนุมัติ กรุณาตรวจสอบการ อนุมัติ ได้ที่ www.immigration.go.th Notification 90 days is Approved. You can check status by visit www.immigration.go.th" Also checked via their Web page and the status was Approved there, too. Wow, it actually worked!
BTW, to download approval form: On approval page, from "View" column click on magnifying glass, then from very bottom select "The Next Appointment" (PRINT) tab. Can save as pdf document.

My last few 90-day reports, via online, takes 13-15 days to get approval. In June it was approved the day AFTER the official last day, That one took 15 days... (Phetchabun)
Good to know. I'll keep checking to see if it was approved or not.

First read was baht - but guess (hope)???? you mean km.
Yes, km. 40,000B one-way would be a bit expensive for 90-day reporting! ????

If your last entry was before the 2013 change to data base you can not report online and the only work around it a new entry. Immigration will not manually add you.
I guess it's walk-in as usual then. Online would have really helped me as it's a 40K trip one-way!

I tried using the online 90-day reporting system and after 5 days the status is still "pending".
Per the Immigration 90-Day Reporting Procedure (TM.47) site ""One of the reason for not being able to do the 90-day check-in online is: "So far, this only seems to work if you arrived or have re-entered Thailand since 2013. We keep hearing that people who had entered Thailand before 2013 have disappointingly discovered that they cannot use the 90-day online reporting tool (likely due to limitations to the amount of history contained in the initial version of Immigration's online tool database). Check to see if the Departure Card you have in your passport has a Bar Code in the upper right hand corner (older style Departure Cards do not).""
I entered before 2013. My TM6 departure card does NOT have a bar code. Does that mean I can NEVER use the online 90-day reporting system until I get a new TM6? Anybody get this fixed? Thanks.

Guys - Great thread! Thanks to all of you for time, effort, and info. I too have not received form 7162 "Report to United States Social Security" yet. Back in 2017 I had problems, so don't know if this info is still correct, but I contacted the OIO (Office of International Operations) at Tel# 410-965-6517. They told me I could FAX the electronically signed PDF form to 410-966-6782. I later called and confirmed it was indeed received. As this was 3 years ago, I can't vouch for the above numbers still being relevant. Please lets keep this thread alive until we know what's happening. I personally am just going to wait a bit and see if it arrives in the mail.

Ditto regarding the Bt150K limit at a Bangkok Bank branch I use sometimes for a counter withdrawal....
I'd be happy if the BKK Bank limit was 150K Baht. I believe my debit card has a U$5,000 per day limit, anyway.

Here's my story for transferring funds from America to Thailand. Last week I went to a brick-and-mortar Bangkok Bank branch in Chanthaburi province where I've had an account for many years (though I don't believe this matters). Brought my brokerage account (Ameritrade) debit card and a piece of paper where I'd written down, in English, counter withdrawal / cash advance and that I did NOT want Dynamic Currency Conversion (DCC). They didn’t seem to understand “counter withdrawal”, but knew “cash advance”. They had NO idea what DCC meant, so I just went with it. I was asked for my passport, which they photocopied and I signed - I was not asked for my PIN number. A few minutes later I received a long narrow receipt, and did not see anything about DCC or VISA exchange rate. Then I received a BKK bank "Credit Note/Receipt Set" form where it stated “VISA cash advance” - again I didn’t see anything about DCC. I requested / received 30,000 Thai Baht cash in a manner of about 5 minutes. I asked what was Bangkok Bank's maximum allowable amount for a cash advance, and they didn't know. They simply suggested next time I get more. Smart! I was charged NO Bangkok Bank commission.
When I got home and checked the exchange rate from Yahoo and Reuters was 30.30 Baht to the U$ dollar. Two working days later - yes, as others have noted it takes a few days to clear - my brokerage account was debited $992 for an effective rate of 30.24 (30000/992). The transaction description was "Debit Cards (against Brokerage Account)". This method worked for me, was very quick and easy, and it seems I received a workable, though maybe not the highest, exchange rate. YMMV!NOTE: As others have stressed in previous threads - if you use this method you MUST check to see what fees apply with your specific debit card. Many banks charge outrageous fees for this kind of transaction. Be forewarned.

I have this type of visa. I had to obtain a letter from the Ampur certifying that the mother allows you to take care of the child. This will require her bringing 2 or 3 witnesses (I forget exactly, though it can be relatives!) To obtain this letter I was REQUIRED to have my passport translated into Thai by a certified translation agency. Make sure your transliterated name on the passport translation is the same (i.e. the Thai spelling) as on the child's birth certificate. I also had to make 2 copies of 6 photos of myself and my son at my house - and 2 more copies of 6 photos of myself, my son, and the mother. An Immigration officer also came to my house and the mother had to come and he took more photos - naturally this was after I initially handed in the paperwork.
I would strongly suggest you have all the above before hand. My Immigration office didn't seem to know what was needed at the beginning and kept getting requests from BKK (or so they told me). Have it all prepared before hand, and if you don't need it, no great loss.
Naturally, this is Thailand so you might have a totally different experience and different requirements. Please feel free to ask if you have any other questions. Best of luck.

Back in May (2019) I posted regarding finding rooting hormone containing indole butyric acid, as I couldn't find any. As of today, October 08, 2019 there is a product called Root-Fro available online containing IBA. It's 130B per bottle +shipping.

DISCLAIMER: I have no affiliation with any online vendor, company, or product. This is simply a FYI post as I've been extremely frustrated in trying to find something like this. It is not available at any nursery or farming product store in my area, and I visited many, many shops.
Happy gardening!

tifino - Clonex sound great, but too expensive my purpose - i.e. for a few cuttings. Yes, 3 "colors", per their web site: <<www.growthtechnology.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2014/09/CLONEX-GELS-more-info.pdf>>
CLONEX GREEN - contains 1.5g/L active constituent. Formulated for softwood cuttings.
CLONEX PURPLE - contains 3g/L active constituent.Formulated for semi hardwood cuttings.
CLONEX RED - contains 8g/L active constituent. Formulated for hardwood cuttings. As my purpose is for general garden plant cuttings, the "softwood" option would probably be strong enough. I've never used IBA so am not sure.
canuckamuck - Ebay is a possibility as a last resort, for sure, though I'm thinking shipping would make it prohibitively expensive.
Any other ideas or places to buy it from? I do wish it was available from an on-line Thai shopping site.

RoyDee,
I found a picture of Root-Fro on the web; apparently Shoppee used to sell it, but they don't anymore. ;-(
Checked out every farming supply shop in my town this morning, showing them the picture, but nobody carries anything with IBA (indole 3 butyric acid) as the active ingredient. One guy was familiar with IBA, and thought it was available in another town, but I couldn't figure out where he was referring to.
It's only for my small gardening hobby purposes - so if I can't find it, "mai pen lai". I guess I'll try honey as an anti-fungal agent for my cuttings and keep my eye open for it elsewhere.
Thanks for all your help.
Mr Ben

RoyDee - Thanks for the info and great suggestion - I'll check at my local farm stores. Was it called "ROOT-FRO", or was that a typo and it's actually Root-Pro? If you could post an image that would be helpful.
BTW - Did you get good results with this stuff?
Thanks

Hi folks,
I'm looking for some rooting hormone that contains Indole-3-butyric acid. The last info I saw was the thread below - that's now closed.
https://forum.thaivisa.com/topic/930687-where-to-find-rooting-hormone-in-thailand/
The images from the above thread show a Thai made product, but I've asked at all my local nurseries and nobody seems to carry anything. Online the only thing I've found is an imported, over-priced 650B 50g bottle of Clonex from Lazada. I'm in Chanthaburi Province. Any suggestions or leads?
Thanks all

Hey guys - thanks for all the great responses. I'm still not 100% clear on how this method differs from doing a normal ATM withdrawal in regard to the fee from the US bank (in my case Citibank). So, my bank merely registers it as a normal debit card transaction and I would only be paying a normal debit card transaction fee?
Also, no one at my BKK Bank speaks much English. What key words can I use (maybe put into Thai via Google Translate), to explain this. Is there a BKK Bank web page that explains this process? I couldn't find it. ;-(
Thanks

I'd like to start a new thread about transferring money to BKK Bank from the US. In thread "New problems sending funds from the US to cover visa extension". kensisaket posted, "Get a debit card for your U.S. bank account. Then go to BKK bank accounts desk (you need to go to a bank, not an auxiliary). They have a debit card machine that you can use to transfer large amounts of money. My U.S. credit union allows me to transfer $4000 USD per day with no fee on either end. ...... It's an instantaneous transfer takes less than 2-3 minutes."
Are others doing this? How is it working? Has anyone used this method with a CitiBank debit card?
Thanks.

I sent the BKK embassy an email and they responded:
"Our outreach details are updated on our website 2 days prior to the event. We have updated it as of today. Please visit https://th.usembassy.gov/u-s-citizen-services/consular-outreach/ for all the information on our Pattaya outreach."
So they let you know the outreach location - but only two days in advance! The logic behind this being.....????

If Day Lily plants don't like warm temps than they're SOL in this country. I'm not familiar with Crocosmia - I'll check them out.
