I doubt the cost of Visas has any bearing on the number of Tourists. imo, the cost of a visa isn't the make or break decision to visit a country or not. It appears that most government Departments in most countries in 2016 now seem to be responsible for there own budgets. If immigration need to improve there financial status, then the raising of prices for visas is probably an easy decision for them to take. I doubt the VOA will be the only visa to see an increase in price over the coming months. They tend to raise the price on one type of visa and eventually the price filters through to other categories.
Take a look at the price of different types of visas to enter the UK now. The price increases have been incredible over the previous years.

reeeeeeeeaaaly. so if you are a tour opperator  with 100 people.  who will fork over that unexpected Extra 100,000 baht?  remeber that cruise liner that made a surprise visit to an ISLAND and spent over half a million under 2 hours? well they were ripped off just like this and they WILL NEVER RETURN.   a weeks notice is a SCAM. its easier to redirect all tourist to laos or vietnam using software.  jsut save tourist some headaches.  Thailand is not the UK.

But since you think this inst going to affect a world favorite destination because its affordability. then you should NOT SEE A CRIME SPIKE.  or maybe you are too high for us lowly people.  The government is killing the chicken that lays the golden eggs.

  2. Do government departments talk to each other? Just think of the ramifications of these closures. Tourism down, unemployment up, workers from other countries no longer have valid work permits, ferry companies lose revenue etc. Presumably perpetrators will also face heavy fine or imprisonment adding to state costs! I'm not against action but think plans need to be worked out carefully between relevant departments

actually most of them dont have brains to work with, thats why everyone in this country seems to do JOBS a 17yo can do. then they cry when they lose it. Its because THAIS love to SELL OUT.

Ill change my opinion for 2000 baht.

Ill go to your room for 2000 baht.

Ill buy a imitation bag for 2000 baht.

ill sell out my neighbor for 2000 baht.

When you sell out, you dont work on your personality. you dont gain experience, you LOSE VALUE. Your kids lose.

THis Island. and the mafia family there, their value is visible now. One day i wish to see the family under a bridge... and i will kick them lower.

  3. The Chinese got it right when it comes to mega corruptions cases, face the firing squads and done,

right after they have been shame and stripped of every penny they own.... Oh but not here

in the very soft hearted Thailand, so it will go on until someone will get very serous in steaming

the tide of greed and un bridled corruption.....

wellllll... with so many thai s thinking they are chinese.... why not adopt some chinese ideas?

  4. How about taking them out? I mean shooting them on the spot execution style without trial together with their "Muak Gan Nok" employees. Imagine the boost for Thai economy with millions of Thais all of a sudden being freed of their loans while the seized money and assets flow into school systems and health care... Why monitor scum if you can simply wipe it out? If I see a cockroach in my living room, I hit it with a shoe - end of story.

these loan sharks have created so much bad blood that it wont take much to spark it. Sooner of later people will realize ... your right.

  5. Such amaze, Much wow. omg. Thailand... what are you doing signing deals with N koreea?. doesnt that make sense as to why south Korean companies are shutting down? hmm... i have to wonder if something sinister is going on here. .. like unsealed cargo containers. if the police really wanna catch any smuggling they would visit Kilomet Nueng by the Gulf. it translate roughly to "the first kilometer" because it well... about a kilo from the sea. Every taxi knows the place. A taxi mistook me when i wanted to go a kilometer down, but because of the stereotyping in thailand he presumed my skin color preferred entertainment for my class. (and a bit of curiosity on my part as to where the frack he was taking me) Being what he is, he presumed incorrectly.

    Every......................single..................................life ............................is important.

  6. The global downturn has certainly impacted Thailand and this is another blow for its citizens.

The Junta have done a wonderful job in guiding the economy through it, but unfortunately it cannot shield the country from outside market forces.

Lets hope the economy rebounds soon.

uh, no. noone buys HD with motors in them any more. Samsung made a decision which is foreign to most Thais called "future financial prediction". Thainess only knows "financial manipulation".

THink carefully about the last time you bought a cluncky motorizes HD... the last time i bout one was right after wifi was "public" aka invented(slow applaud to Australian patient trolls) 2009. Thats right monkeys, SSD is here. so.... honestly the plant management should have seen this one a mile away. Why didnt he think about upgrading his equipment?.This isnt something you just pour concrete on. Blame him for not thinking.... ahead.

Plus... THainess is currently quite harsh on many korean companies recently. THere are many great thai public servants out there doing a great job. but the bad guys, The hidden mob hidding in the government, seems to be singling out companies with unusual fines. Wouldnt it be fun if someone finds out why?

  7. Supremacy of the law?

More like supremacy of the junta!

She hasn't fled there's been no tears just grace and dignity and this farce is only going to make her more popular than ever before no matter which way it goes.

The self proclaimed peoples champion hides behind a monks robe ignoring court summonses and currying favour for his divisive efforts in bringing down Thailands elected government while this lady stands face to face with her accusers.

If the general thought he would wipe the Shinawatras off the political map then sadly for the junta and yellow dems the complete reverse is happening.

you see only the flowers that bloom on the field and the bees that pollinate them,

you ignore the toxicity that poisons the ground and the pollution that murders the bees .

you truly are a stuttering parrot, repeating only what you have been trained to do.

  8. Ko Tao Death Toll (since Sep 2014)

    Witheridge/Miller (GB) Sep

Woman (N) 22 Dec (boating accident: struck by propeller, drowned)

Nick Pearson (GB) 1 Jan (fell off a 15 m cliff and drowned)

Hanspeter Suter (CH) 10 Nov (Snorkelling accident/drowning)

Dimitri Povse (F) 13 Jan (suicide with hands tied behind back)

    Annesley (GB) 21 Jan (pending)

There were also reports of a young British man called Sam Austin from the Bristol area dying on Koh Tao in the same time period. That story sort of vanished after first reports.

nick didnt "fell off a cliff" without his shoes and hat, on the other side of the island. those that knew him know he never leave a building without a hat.... even when hes completely wasted. if he did ... walk bare feet for kilometers... why did he have on one sock? why is there no cctv footage of him doing so?

  9. looks like there might be a serial killer on the island, and this killer seems quiet busy.

Maybe it's just for fun at this point, who knows?

how many times do i have to say this. THERE IS A KILLER ON THE ISLAND. and the mafia is protecting him. she might have died of natural causes. ... naked. it was kept quiet so a story could be established. watch and see if they cremate her body.
