A disappointed sex tourist, so sorry to hear it.
I always suspect that one someone need to to make it clear Thier clothes are clean, they don't have a hell of alot of other stuff going for them.

Rates quoted around 35k were the same in late 90's when I did a 2 year stint at a university.
Private teaching, and extra night classes for adults at the university doubled, sometimes trebled that until I found gainful employment through contacts made. I was mid 20s at the time.
It really does sound like a job with diminishing returns. The 2 months off with base pay was nice though.

Thinking I might be able to pick up a sub fairly cheaply... Maybe even a car one which they have on the island. Just need to lend some weight to the sound rather than be crystal clear etc.
A bad or badly set up sub just sounds like farts. With a decent active sub you can adjust the crossover, phase and volume to blend properly with your speakers.

The sub will be an active (powered) sub. You will use the line out (rca out) to connect it. The amplifier in the Qs will only power the Qs.
Correct. A ten inch active sub pushing around 150 watts, with a peak of around 300 makes a world of difference. A 4 inch cone simply can't reach the lower frequencies which.
BTW a sub need not mean banging bass, it just fills in where the speakers roll off.

Darn... you mean the last 45 years spent fishing high in boats in Canada was an issue? Who'd have known? ????????
It has been well thought out. Anyone who was expecting better in the first implementation country-wide is a naive idiot.
BTW are you familiar with the conversation around and the implementation of the repeal of alcohol prohibition? ????????
The last 45 years it wasn't an issue, if you can't see how leaving legislation to the whims of each individual provincal government won't be problematic I can't help you.
There is already some horrific legislation planned regarding where weed can be consumed or not and under what circumstances.
In some cases it seems Canadians had greater freedom with weed when police turned a blind eye.
This is for all intents and purposes a money grab over defacto freedoms Canadians already had.
Naive idiot huh, is it more meaningful for the redundancy?

It has nothing to do with shame, it has to do with education, law enforcement, relative wealth and an entirely different set of cultural values which have never adapted to the present day reality.

Difference is, the Flippers unlike thais dont blame it on the Foreigners
Actually, they do, hence the comparison. I have seen reams of arguments on Facebook where they deny it vehemently.
To the point they will complain about a party that has hired people to pick up its trash after, while ignoring the fact that the garbage from the local families and their visiting hangers on remains on the beach 200 meters away around the point.
Denial is not uniquely Thai, just ask the guy next to you with a combover.

It's hardly a uniquely Thai issue, the same thing happens in the Philippines during holidays, only they bring tents which they abandon as well.

One would think. It wouldn't be too difficult to locate Lee from Manchester from immigration records or hotel registers.

Thanks.... Yeah I think they should be fine for recording mixes etc
I'd also look at the audio engine a5+ Apparently about 16k in Thailand and may be available on lazada. They seem to have a better amp section and a 5 inch driver.
Your budget is limited, or I'd be suggesting individually amped speakers or studio monitors.
https://www.lazada.co.th/audioengine/
Audio engine actually provides amplifier specs as well, including frequencies,. Distortion, and amp type. The audio engine is a class ab amp, generally considered more musical and distortion free than the d type amp in the q acoustics.

Always though of peak season as mid Dec to mid January with a steady high season through April.
And as usual, my place on the islands is booked solid until mid April.
We will have about 60 percent occupancy may June, July be booked solid for August September. It doesn't vary much, unless a coup or political strife cocks it all up.

Canada is known for growing the best pot . So tourism may go up too. Fly to Canada get stoned go skiing,or white water rafting or fishing you name it. Or just rent a cabin in the woods and chill out.
Not sure about fishing if it involves a boat, preliminary drafts indicate steep fines and possible boat seizures if Marijuana is used in boat.
This has been ill-thought through and poorly implemented, there will be huge growing pains, especially as despite federal rulings, the provinces have ultimate say.

I'm on the verge of buying those Q Acoustics BT3..... can you just confirm that they can handle bass? I don't mean from normal club / commercial music, but for bass heavy electronic music.....
I think its just the 'Acoustics' name makes me associate them with being suitable for guitar music ^__^
They are all in all a bookshelf speaker with a 100mm, or 4 inch driver.
They will be quite detailed, but you can't expect more than a mid frequency punch, the website doesn't provide frequency responses, but they can't be that low.
I have a set of wharfedale 220s driven by a 60 watt per channel vintage Nad amp and after. A week I bought the matching sub because the seemed a bit flat, talk about a night and day difference.
If you want bass response, I'd be looking at smaller powered cabinets, especially if you want to use them outdoors.
These will however likely sound much better than a big c system in terms of clarity and detail.
It also bears remembering that it is distortion and ear fatigue that makes a cheap or poorly balanced system seem loud, you can push higher volumes when the sound is more pure.
Hoever these should function quite well as a set of in home DJ monitors, but fall short in a large room with a bunch of people in it.
You can however. Play a bit with placement to maximize what bass they provide.

Not concerned about the volume . Its in a house and no need to deafen the neighbours like the way the locals do . All I know is that on the lowest setting possible its pretty loud for a house.
I meant quality-wise.
Those are noisemakers, not audio equipment.

There is also a shop at the end of nathon main street on the left that you might find something in. Bought a k power 3800w amp for about 1800 bht and set of pioneer bookshelf speakers from lazada for around 6000 bht . What I use for my home CD mixer.
3800 watt amp means nothing. The 3800 watts cited mean maximum out put for mere milliseconds not sustained.
A quality 100w rms actual amp will blow that away.

Don't really want to pay more than 10-15, including an amp if needed.....
I need bigger than 'bookshelf speakers', so looks like I will be restricted to the Thai brands... unless I can find something 2nd hand.
Even 2nd hand it would be difficult to find something decent for that money. Esp. For a commercial application.

Just do a quick Google search for "motorcycle taxi Thailand overcharge"
Why google when as i said I have been using the guys on Soi 11 for the last 15 years and have had no issues. The price is clear. No discussion, just ride and pay.

I went for the schnitzel or F1. Perhaps we differ on what constitutes good company.
