  1. Thank you for the responses.

Tried the lab supply shop (as well as the chemist supply shop) near Victory Monument and all they had were non-sterile mixing vials. After talking with their suppliers for a few days, the lab supply shop called and said sterile mixing vials were not available in Thailand.

Will try Siriraj and report when I can get out that way.

  2. Why doesn't Santipharb Phengduang man up and finger the four ? And provide corroborating evidence so these grubs go down big time.

Maybe he fears he'll end up like Akeyuth.

Not surprising given the ruthless way the Thaksin regime dealt with those who spoke up.

I am sure he is fearing just that. But he needs to man up and take his chances. I am sure if he provides the smoking gun he will be cut loose. And there would be people [anti Thaksin ] around, including the military, that would be prepared to provide the security he needs in return.

Turning 'state's evidence' is a life long commitment for all involved. Maybe witness protection is another issue Prayuth can take a look at, as it would be great to encourage more whistle-blowers.

  3. This article did not make clear whether the hard disk was ever witnessed by anyone and/or used as evidence in the first trial.

Or if its just the figment of the defense attorney's imagination-- the disappearance of a hard disc no one has ever seen.

Every CCTV system I've bought in Thailand came with its own PC recording unit and disk drives. Wouldn't buy one any other way.

And having the police out a couple times to sort some problems, I can tell you they're well aware of how CCTV systems work.

  4. Wait until the elections, one side will not like the outcome and the wheels will start turning again. The elected government will be thrown out through civil unrest. Same old same old it's part of the Thai culture.

Bound to happen if the same old faces and attitudes re-surface when civilian rule resumes.

Old soldiers may fade away but Thai politicians never do.

A couple simple reforms such as requiring transparency and ending MP immunity would go a long way to improve things. And there's ample opportunity in Thailand for many more reforms.

  5. It looks like international alarm is increasing!

After the session, many journalists and people at the event greeted Weerachon. Some asked to have photos with him. An American television journalist, who asked to have a photo with him, said the spokesman was the "man of the moment". Weerachon had said the NCPO team at the seminar was not skilled in PR, but the journalist disagreed.

He said that although he is neither pro- or anti-coup, he was impressed by some of Weerachon's answers.

    Or is it?

  6. Suthep admitted ordering troops to shoot at rioters with real shotguns but at below the knee level

Oh, that's OK then. What a fine upstanding gentleman.

.....so how did 90+ peacefull protesters - most of which were sheltering in a temple - were shot and killed by high powered sniper rifles?

Shotgun below the knee my azz. This wanna-be dictator directly ordered the slaughter of nearly 100 inocent men, women and children and should be tried at an international court of justice for crimes against humanity!

Your "facts" are way way off, dozens, including military, were killed long before the final day when there was shooting at the temple, and it is still not clear who did that shooting. As an exercise to start, find out how many people at the temple where shot and at what time.

Also note in your reasoning that everyone understood that targeting international reporters, nurses, medical aids, and innocent people taking refuge in a temple would be most obviously damning for the Abhisit government that Thaksin was trying so hard to overthrow. I honestly do not know who shot all those people as there is no hard evidence, but do I remember following the events minute by minute and even expected it based on my understanding of what was going on.

Just to further your post a bit; my recollection is that the rampaging Red mob ran out through Din Dang setting fires and looking for foreign journalists to attack. In fact, on the 21st (IIRC) at about 10AM, the Reds started fires in front of Zero Rangsit because they thought foreign journalists were staying at the Asia Airport Hotel. Remember it clearly as I picked up my brother at 9AM to bug out to Koh Chang.

  7. Suthep admitted ordering troops to shoot at rioters with real shotguns but at below the knee level when men in black emerged from among the rioters and started to fire at soldiers with assault rifles!!

Would it not have been more fitting for him to order the soldiers to shoot at the men in black instead!!!! What a crazy bizarre thing to say. This man is a lunatic, always has been. Besides, the way i remember it back then is i was deprived of attending my young sisters funeral. The airport was taken hostage by thousands of people in yellow shirts.

The yellow shirt airport protests were in 2008. The red shirt protests (what this topic is about) were in 2010.

The quote about my sisters funeral was not directly referring to a date it was something that directly effected me through Thailand's political turmoil in the past. No idea what years any of it was. Not particularly interested. I specifically posted to say the orders he gave where bizarre and crazy.

Pity you're unaware of U-Tapao and Phuket.

Getting in and out of the country wasn't so difficult.

  8. Bor Kor Lai Jud nabbed at Chon Buri home

BANGKOK, 6 June 2014 (NNT) The military has apprehended Red Sunday Group leader Sombat Boonngamanong, aka Bor Kor Lai Jud, at a residence in Chon Buri province following his defiance of the National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO)s authority.

According to Pol Maj Gen Pisit Paoin, Advisor to the Permanent Secretary for Information and Communication Technology, officers from the 21st Infantry Regiment, Queens Guard, have arrested Mr Sombat after storming a private home in Phan Thong district of Chon Buri on Thursday night. The military had earlier collaborated with the National Intelligence Agency in tracking down an IP address on a computer used by the runaway activist, leading to his arrest.

Mr Sombat has reportedly been taken to the Nawamin Camp of the 21st Infantry Regiment, Queens Guard, for custody.

The Red Sunday Group leader had been a prominent critic of the military coup and was ordered by the NCPO to report to the authorities for his action. However, he declared he would not comply with the order and challenged the military officers with a slogan Catch Me If You Can. Before he was taken away for detention, a message was posted on his Facebook account, saying he had been caught.

    Done and dusted.

  9. There's reports starting to come out that the Military Junta have banned the 3 fingered "Hunger Games style " salute.. hmmmmmm the right to protest now is being outlawed? Sounds a bit ominous, a bit silly, I guess you're not allowed to have an opinion that goes against the ruling body then? General Prayuth isn't messing around, that's for sure, and there's bound to be some condemnation that he seems to be suppressing public disent, I don't have an issue with those who use violent means to protest, but to stamp out the right to protest silently but with a gesture is a bit OTT.. but it's his rules, his train set and he can do what he wants, I have a funny feeling things are not all that rosy in the Military Gardens right now.

Only in groups of 5 or more.
