  1. The short answer is that if the money came into Thailand from abroad, the receiving bank is obligated to provide you with a tor-tor saam (TT3) a record at the central bank. You can take/send that amount back out of the country without question. If there is no record of money in your account coming from abroad then it's taxable.

    If that's the case...,

i met this guy who was visiting Thailand one day while I was walking my dogs. Really nice guy. He likes Shih Tsus. Anyway, we were taIking and I was telling him about my trip to Tia Juana when I was in my early 20's (it surprised me I even remembered) and he told me there's no way that girl was the taxi driver's sister. I mean, he know's what he's talking about. Turns out his cousin is a taxi driver in Tia Juana and says they all do stuff like that. Ah, I digress... Soooo, he know's a guy who knows a guy that's supposed to be high up in one of the Mexican cartels.... can't remember which one. Anyway, those guys know how to move money around.knowwhatimean? I wasn't too interested at the time 'cause hey, when you've been in Thailand a long time, 10,000 baht is a large amount of money for me and I've never had any problem moving it around. If you want, I can call him for you and ask him to find out the best way to move it around. Only problem is I'll need to use your phone 'cause my pre-paid is running low.

  2. Perhaps the circumstance in which you met your Thai gf has a lot to do with how she approaches a relationship and what she expects out of it. For example, if a hooker in the States decided to opt out of "the life" and pair with you (a reliable sign of attraction in most circumstances) but didn't have enough education or skills to get a decent job, she might expect financial support as well and you'd be dead wrong if you thought that inappropriate. If that's not the case here, self reflection might go a long way to learn what signals you're sending out. If you haven't resolved that then there is no geographical cure.

  3. Escrow is coming soon!.

Until you can buy a property off plan using escrow - don't do it. The only law involving condos and foreigners is that foreigners can't own more than 49% of the units in the buidling.

San Siri is a public company. They recently had serious construction issues on a Sukhumvit condo. http://www.bangkokpost.com/news/local/367346/sansiri-faces-heat-over-shoddy-wall-construction

  4. You've probably let her get away with murder, so be tack-full about the way you handle things.

Hmmm, were you meaning to say tactful? If not, can you please advise where to put the tacks. I put tacks on my teacher's chair in 4th grade. It produced immediate results - the class wasn't boring. I don't think it would work with my wife tho. She told me a story once about a Thai woman that sounded amazingly similar to Loranie Bobbit. It never left the back of my mind.

  5. Kasikorn bank has a web card tied to a savings account. You can use it to make online purchases. They dont issue a card only a visa or mastercard number with the 3 digit identifier - forget what it's called.

SCB will issue a credit card with 100% limit per your deposit in a fixed savings account - they keep the book.
