  1. Absolutely no disingenuousness from me - it is you who is attempting to conflate the two very separate matters. You know perfectly well that it is not the presence of immigrants that prevents our ex servicemen from getting the support they need from our government. There is no choice between the two.
  2. Why do you want struggling ex military to live in sparse and austere accommodation? Do you not think that our government owes them more than that?
  3. Without wishing to diminish from the general picture of oppressiveness that you painted and with which I mostly agree, homosexuality is not a crime in Russia. That's not to say that the rights of the LGBT community are equal or protected, but same sex activities are not illegal per se.
  4. As @placeholder pointed out, you have nothing. You know that your party is both morally and intellectually bankrupt (or at least I presume you can see that for yourself) but rather than accept facts and address them, all you can do is point out imaginary threats elsewhere.
  5. Does the word Truss ring any bells? You create fantasy scenarios about Abbott in power but the Tories actually elected Truss to number 10. Tell me again and the relative trustworthiness of Tory members!
  6. And in denial of the party that elected Johnson and Truss.
  7. This thread is not about Germany - it's about the pessimism that experts have in regards to the near future of the UK economy. You can try to discredit those experts all you like, but the fact remains that their assessments are considered to be valuable.
  8. I am extremely confident that our corrupt government has given a ridiculously overpriced contract for the provision of a poor quality service at an overinflated price to one of their own. That's what corrupt governments do and that is what our corrupt Tory government has done in this case.
  9. Of course, the Bibby Stockholm is not all bad news. On the positive side, it provides the Tory government another route to do what they love to do - transfer taxpayers' money into the pockets of their friends and donors. Portland barge 'more expensive' than hotels for asylum seekers
  10. I'd imagine that the majority would happily stay at home if the west had not been instrumental in despoiling and destroying their homelands.
  11. In a better country the two issues would not be conflated.
  12. All going to Tory party plans - privatise the profits and leave the public to pay the costs. ‘The whole thing stinks’: water firms to pay £15bn to shareholders as customers foot sewage bill
  13. This thread is not about Scottish independence, although now you bring it up, can we all observe a moment of contemplative gratitude at the revival of North Sea oil? In 2014 we were reliably informed that all the oil was gone, but thanks to the UK government's efforts, they have found enough for 100 new licenses to propel the UK to energy independence. I guess they had misplaced them 9 years ago. The people of South East England rejoicing once again at the prospect of so much more Scottish money coming their way.
  14. The majority of people across the UK recognise that Brexit was a tragedy of utter stupidity. Is the integrity of everyone who acknowledges this to be rejected by the minority forever?
  15. No, I am not convinced that Coutts is aiming for Swampy's business. I think they still prefer to cater for the more well heeled scumbags. Could it actually be that Farage, ever the pliant puppet willing to sell anyone down the river for hard cash, having secured brexit for Russian money, was working to help his GB News boss to short Nat West? Anti-woke billionaire nets millions from NatWest debacle
  16. Is this how brexit is meant to work? "UK food producers have argued that it gives a free pass to continental rivals, while all fresh food exports from the UK to the European Union face checks." BBC News - Post-Brexit import checks on food delayed again https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-66394235
  17. Coutts, the bank of choice for capitalist tax cheats, royalty and other greedy, immoral scumbags is a bastion of virtue signalling lefties? Are you sure?
  18. Not just Nigel, you should extend your congratulations to his boss. Putin was cock a hoop at the value for money he got there.
  19. I had similar thoughts but of another month of irrationally angry men criticising another man because he had the temerity to marry someone he loved.
  20. Manila (as in the real Manila) has some interesting places worth a visit such as Intramuros and China town, but Makati or Bonifacio Global City (BGC) are definitely more pleasant places to stay and to party, although Makati has good and less good places. BGC is definitely more sterile than the more earthy Makati Avenue area. 2 or 3 days in Metro Manila is sufficient I think.
  21. This thread is not about me, I'm afraid but feel free to explain further. I promise I won't revert to brexiteer mode.
  22. To be perfectly honest, I doubt that I could help you understand what I wrote.
  23. You chose examples of two autocratic regimes rather than multiple examples of democratic mandates being effectively exercised. If totalitarianism is the inevitable result of democracy then it's certainly playing the long game in most cases.
  24. As has been mentioned elsewhere here, the crown estates belong to the people. Charles Windsor certainly did nothing to earn them, although he managed to avoid paying inheritance tax on them.
