I got it from my friend and there are lots of weird questions. Is it true that the Personal Information form now relevant to 90 days notification in Phuket? See attached.

Hi, please see PM.
In my opinion, I do not think you need to apply in the very last day - no harm to apply for little earlier than that but I could be wrong.
I am currently preparing to request exactly the same as yours, already put 400K on 2 Dec, my permit to stay will be expired on 14 March 2016.
I shall plan to apply on 17 February (this month) instead of 2 March 2016.
Hope this will still be acceptable.

Doing it by post seems more reliable although requires a bit of advanced planning.
By post sounds useful for standby. Where do I find the info about requirement/method?
Merry Xmas to all...
Info is here. 90day_notification.pdf
You send it to your local immigration office.
It says registered mail but you can also use EMS. It says 5 baht postage for return envelope but you could put 40 baht and it would be sent by EMS.
.
Thanks for that link. Am I correct that I must post before 7 working days to the expired date (3 Jan)?
If so, can I deliver my letter to the immigration office personally? Or must it be done by EMS?
If EMS, I cant seem to find the relevant address (Phuket) in website. Shall I assume it is the same address where the Phuket immigration office is located?
Thanks

You need photocopies of your passport ID and visa pages, a copy of your Arrival card, the completed form, a 10 baht stamped return address envelope and send it by EMS 14 days before the due date.Doing it by post seems more reliable although requires a bit of advanced planning.

Pity, I am already within 14 days ....so may try that next time. Thanks.

Hi, I am trying to notify my 90 days stay via internet using internet explorer 11.
I open www.immigration.go.uk, then click enter the start page, then click Notification of staying over It 90 day on the left, then scroll down to the bottom where there is a small blue line, click it.
While the page says there is a problem with this website's security certificate, I ignore it by clicking "Continue to this website (not recommended)"
Then the last page says "Failure of Web Server bridge:
No backend server available for connection timed out after 10 seconds or idempotent set to off or method not idempotent"
Appreciate any advice, thanks.

I'm a Brit. I'll offer a thought on your point 2. A lot of UK bank accounts are for UK residents only. So If you tell some of those UK banks that you're moving abroad they may tell you they're going to have to close your account (and give you a new account, perhaps with one of their off-shore banks).
I, UK expat, have been warned by HSBC to close my current account so I requested them not to close it. They asked me a few questions - sorry I can't remember what were these questions except one they ask me if I have a personal tax allowance. I replied yes. They agree to let me using my existing account. So it should not be a problem.

Just did it in Phuket town last Friday as i got new passport on Thursday. Went to the driving licence office. Asked them what is needed to update the passport number in the driving licence. They told me:Your original post & the comments are appreciated.
I am about to update my Thai driving licences this month due to my new passport.
My plan is that I will provide the transport office nearing to Phuket Immigrant office both passports (old & new), the black book (resident), the existing licences.
I hope they will allow that to proceed without going to immigrant.
Certificate of residence from the immigration
Copy of the new passport only
Copy of the visa (1 year non o for me)
That's it.
Went to the immigration opposite. As i have already registered my address, just copy of the passport, visa and fill a form. 10 minutes later got the certificates. Free of charges
Went back to the driving licence office, show them the required document and copies, got a queue number, wait, paid 110 + 220 ( for 2 licences) and got the 2 new licences with passport number updated. Took about 1 hour.
Thanks jpsasia, I have not started that yet as it is raining today.... I am glad you got 2 licences successfully assuming for both biking & driving. I shall plan to visit at local amphur for C of R instead of immigration to see what happening today - hopefully they can trace my record on the right database.
You welcome. Just to clarify. The set of copies they are asking is per licence. 1 set for the car and 1 set for the motorbike. The C of R is only 1 required for both licence. It might work in the local amphur, never tried. Only issue at the immigration office is that there are a lot of people. Had a small issue with the officer because he was insisting for me to get my non o visa transfered to my new passport. But as i holding 3 passports that day, 1 with the visa, one with the entry stamp and the new one, he finally gave up and proceeded the C of R.
Also, for your information for the passport number update in the DL, no test or video required. When the officer proceeded my application, she told me that actually updating the passport number on the DL was not required but she will proceed anyway.
Now I got myself both Thai driving licences - exactly the same criteria as yours. Pity Amphur office does not deal with C of R - howvever I was there for another purpose anyway. Then I went straight to Immigration to get C of R. As result of that, I am relieved that there is no charge involved in it. And the rest is pretty straightforward at Transport office. So enjoy a peace of mind. Cheers. P.S. I did request the transferred expired stamp (not visa sticker) from the old to the new one sometimes ago. No charge for that too. I think it will be useful for next extension.

1. Doesn't have to be in a Thai bank A/C.
UK A/C showing the equivalent of 400,000 THB.
Your name or joint names (your the applicant).
2. No translations required as long as documents are in Thai or English.
http://www.thaiembassy.sg/visa-matters-/-consular/visa-requirements/non-immigrant-visa-o-thai-spouse
All documents: Documents in languages other than Thai or English have to be translated into either Thai or English and notarised by notary organs or relevant diplomatic/consular missions.
3. Letter from wife stating purpose of visit and invitation to Thailand.
And a copy of Thai spouse's ID card or passport might be useful as well.

Sorry to hear about your vulnerable daughter's difficulty & your situation is uneasy as well. Maybe hiring the nanny may help if you can only afford. Or talk neighbours to keep eyes on her. Trust you will find the way. G'luck.

Got a response from HMPO. See below & I still appreciate your quick comments.
Thank you for your email of 30 July 2015 about the difficulties you experienced when trying to remove the yellow sticker from page 32 of your passport.
We can confirm that the yellow label you removed does not contain the chip, or any other information, but has been used to increase the security of the passport during the production process.
Your passport is therefore fully valid for travel purposes.
Yours sincerely

The sticker was affixed by IPS for internal production control procedures and can be peeled off.
Thanks. That answers my curiosity.
-
....from UK.GOV.....
Note
The bio data (personal details) page is at the front of the passport and located on page 2.
The passport chip is located in the cover of the passport.
The invisible printing of the laminate fluoresces strongly.
The laser perforated number consists of variable hole shapes (circle, square and triangle).
The chip I showed earlier is located at the second last page of the passport.
-
The passport is now probably invalid.
Seek the advice of your Embassy.
Yeah, currently waiting for a response.
-
I've got the same style of passport and there is no chip for sure on that page. Whether it was on a sticker which I removed or was never there at all I have no idea. What I do know is that the passport has worked without problem for 2.5 years, in fact nearly full now.
Good on you! Why HMPO asks every passport ownership to peel out the stupid yellow label covering the chip? Or could it be protected against the post office security or something?
-
Sorry, forget to mention nationality - British.
-
Please forgive me if I pick this wrong forum.
I have just received my new passport & all info are correct.
Then I peeled out the small yellow label, "Please remove this label".
I could not see the chip on the passport page but it is on the label instead. Its adhesive label must be too strong.
So I tried to put that chip back to the passport page with my best care.
I am not too sure if the chip may be affected - see attached
Has anyone have that similar experience?

Hello,
I received an email from HMPO Liverpool saying my passports have been despatched via Courier DX Secure, www.dxdelivery.com/consumer/my-tracking/.
My problem is unable to track two given numbers using this website.
When I enter these numbers, the options appear "UK" or "ROI". I have no idea what to do next as I am in Thailand. Can you kindly advise me that?
Appreciate the response in advance.
-
I think they mean to grant you 12-month extension in subject to their approval. Does the stamp on your passport mention "under consideration"? If yes, that is good & you will need to go back to Immigration to get another stamp if they will approve. Nothing to worry if there is a delay as long as you wait for their approval. This is what I have been through last February.
