  1. I had Open Surgery in UK nearly 15 years ago, and Laproscopic surgery on the other side at St Louis Hospital Bangkok with a Doctor that @Sheryl mentioned before. It cost 180k (Open surgery was quoted at 120k-130k). I went to government hospital first and the older doctor recommended NO mesh so I quickly left and went here. The groin pain was non-existant compared to Open Surgery, but the small incisions made on the stomach still gives me discomfort when trying to lay face down / stretching. That's after over 3 months. So both have good / bad.
  2. I think it's fine as long as you have evidence of Long-Term Visa or Work Permit. I am not sure they provide an account for anyone on a Tourist Visa though. I think when I set mine up I had to contact them by phone as my application didn't get any attention for days. Oh another thing about TrueMoney Wallet - if the Long-term Visa or Work Permit date expires from when you set it up, they instantly lock you out of your account and you have to upload new evidence again (renewal of Work Permit etc).
  3. Thanks for this - just had Laparoscopic hernia surgery done by Dr Narongsak Jongsiri at St Louis Hospital and so far no issues at all! Total price was 190k which included two nights in hospital (technically you probably only need 1 night). Very friendly doctor and would also recommend. Samitevej quoted me up to 287k which included 10k baht pre-clearance and 5k baht home medicine (tylenol / paracetamol??). Ultrasound on both sides of groin was also over 8k here which may be normal? I am glad I chose St Louis.
