  1. Ridiculous, when is this country going to grow a pair I wonder. Yingluck is nothing more than a private citizen now and has been impeached and banned from politics for 5 years. It is martial law <deleted>, they might as well treat her like everybody else or simply leave her be. The special treatment hiso's eeceive here is a national disgrace, it should be the first thing the people demand. 2 tier justice is sickening anywhere, especially here where the prison systsem is so chaotic. Despicable

Removing the two tier system would mean putting the Generals right hand man in prison for murder.

    Absolutely correct.

Now please state specifically who you are talking about and if this person has been charged with murder, sent for trail, been judged and sentenced to jail.

If you cannot or will not give ALL the details then may I politely suggest that you are talking rubbish.

Remember the old story of being innocent until proven guilty?

I am talking about Suthep, but you fail to understand the issue, for it is the two tier system which prevents some from ever being found guilty or even if they are, from ever being sentenced.

  2. If she wanted political asylum, her high level advisors could arrange it through the US Embassy. She might qualify considering that she is pursued by a junta using martial law which the US considers illegal.

All she'd have to do is to walk into the embassy, but how she'd get out of there and travel I don't know.

    No way would she qualify.

    As the envoy has stated:

Murphy also reiterated that the United States does not take sides in Thai politics.

She qualifies under the Geneva Convention.

"a well-founded fear of being persecuted for reasons of race, religion, nationality, membership of a particular social group or political opinion"

All countries which are a party to the Geneva Conventions are legally bound to accept her if she manages to get there.

There is a major difference between persecution and prosecution, just as there is between political opinion and theft.

There is also a difference between theft and neglect, but it is only you who is confused.

I didn't know Thaksin was the Generals right hand man

Not familiar with Suthep's history? The current two tier system protects guilty people on both sides.

Hmmm, would that also mean charging Taksin with crimes against humanity for the deaths of the 90 peaceful protesters in the south and the 3000+ extra judicial killings of suspected drug dealers so that the police could gain full control of the drug trade?

Why not? The point is that the General is unlikely to put his best mates in prison, so the two tier system will continue.

  7. Yes, as well as other royalist days, this is besides the point though as it is only Yellow Shirts who insist their staff wear yellow shirts every Monday. Why do you think he dropped the idea, do you think he fell out of love with the King or do you think he might of thought it unwise to continue such an obvious display of his personal politics? I feel safe in my assumption that this billionaire is not about to challenge the current rule.

    No, you are completely wrong.

At one stage nearly the whol;e adult population were wearing yellow shirts on Mondays, this preceded the political yellow shirt movement.

You are correct that the Kings birth colour precedes the political decision to wear yellow shirts and, if this had happened back in 2006, then you really would have had a point but, CP made their staff wear yellow in 2012! w00t.gif

  8. Let's imagine after Macro and CP he gets Tesco Lotus. With all the money and power he could easily run and win a future election to become the PM. As they say, the winner takes it all.

Consider what he already has. CP Foods, 7-11, True Vision and Chesters, and that is just in Thailand. In China he owns the 3rd largest motorbike manufacturer, the 2nd largest life insurance company and Tesco China and he also owns one of the worlds largest agricultural feed suppliers. Would Tesco Lotus really make that much difference to either his wealth or his power?

The former requirement of his staff to where yellow shirts on certain days might be a give away to his chosen political persuasion. My guess is that he is happy just pulling the strings in parliament.

Where those certain days Mondays by any chance?

  10. What about a nation wide ban all year round , farmland , forrest ,garbage

Even the open air cremations lit with diesel and car tyres.

I don't know what cremations you have attended but it is not lit with diesel and certainly not with car tyres.Best you get out and about a bit.

I believe that is how Pol Pot was cremated, some people get things a bit mixed up.

  11. The government needs to actively encourage farmers (et alia) to re-cycle instead of burning. Composting wherever possible will help the farmers with free natural fertiliser and will then help to reduce their costs and increase "profits".

A simple approach of education and encouragement, highlighting benefits instead of yet another laughable "crackdown" that achieves absolutely nothing.

Burning introduces potash and phosphorus and reduces nitrogen lock, so they are already getting this "help" for free without the added cost of making fertilizer. Burning is far cheaper and has a higher success than alternative techniques. They can also harrow after harvest but that costs for the tractor and does not kill all weeds. I am sure that many farmers feel that they just do not have an alternative and will continue to use burning until there is one which actually benefits them.

  12. You would think that after they invented the toilet, they would know how to use the thing !!!

Was that not the Indus Valley Civilization?

Was it not Thomas crapper of England? Hence the use of the term crapper

    Flush toilet?huh.png

He invented the floating ballcock and successfully marketed his toilet, that is all he really did. The flushing toilet had already been invented in 1596 by John Harrington. Crapper has as much claim to the toilet as Henry Ford does to mass production, about zero.

  13. Casting a shadow at the good name of the Ukrainians? smile.png

He has a Tatar name, but so what?

    He is a Ukrainian.

    Are you sure?

Then it's time for Ukrainian bashing...sorry.gif

NIt could be that the part of Ukraine he comes from is now Russian or it could be that he is from the other part of Ukraine, the part that remains Ukrainian. His name/ ethnicity has no bearing on this nor on this crime. How about just bashing him alone and not dragging nationality or ethnicity into this?

  14. Good News! I mean Thais start to understand the difference between Russians and Ukranians!

His name doesn't sound like Russian nor Ukrainian, and his face too.

He may be a Ukrainian passport holder but actually Tatar or Bashkir by his ethnic nationality?

What a desperate look in his eyes! I wish he was proven innocent... unsure.png
