  1. I will be taking the week of Songkran off and am looking for a fun holiday destination. Not too crazy with the water throwing but still some chance to party. Any suggestions?

Hi Heather. There's a nice small place called Ban Krud. You can reach it by train or bus. It belongs to 'Bangsaphan Noi', which is in the Prachuap Khiri Khan district. A nice beach, cheap, clean bungalows, fantasic seafood, motorc. for rent. A lot of coconut trees...you'll like it. There's no night life. Beautiful waterfalls, a lot of fun. Good luck from the lower North- east.. Mike

  2. Just read this weeks Pattaya Mail What a load of Waffle these Pattaya Government ministers talk Expand the beach how? by sanding over Beach Road and knocking down all beach side hotels and shops (actually it would not be a bad idea) and as for the Mono Rail ha ha ha If they really want to do something have official crossing points that are rigorasly enforced as every one knows crossing the road is a nightmare. another point Walking Sreet (street urchins beggars etc) put the buggers that exploit these children in jail . any way thats enough ranting by me nothing will ever change.

  3. If any special deals on hotel stays in thailand . i.e discounts free meals pay for 2 nights get 2 free etc etc be come known to members could they please post them. preferably south Thailand beach resorts p.s just genuine offers no long spiels on the politics of the thai economic situation THANKS

  4. I have just checked out Air Asias new venture in to Europe i e London to Kula lumpur return starting in Mar 09 the cost of an economy ticket with all the extras. approx £500. and then add on the kul to bkk return approx £100. I can not see many travellers to thailand using it. I am certain if Air Aaia had changed the routing i.e Lon to bkk . it would be more profitable ( forgetting about the latest troubles in Thailand) any coments

  5. Tue 9th bkk to lhr EVA totally over booked. transfered passengers to Thai flight which arrived 1 hour before eva. I flew home with Thai on mon 8th approx 150 passengers on a 747. and my wife flew with thai next day again only a third full. I can understand why thai are cutting flights

  6. yesterday this topic was removed I will put it in a more sensible way . Can any member of the Pattaya Volunteer Police explain to me why Uzbekistani prostitutes are allowed to work in Walking Street (pattaya Post article) 22 were arrested and all had been convicted before for prostitution why are they not deported. The reason for this topic is that a friend and his family were going to visit Pattaya but after reading this article thety are going else were any comments

  7. This might have been published before under a different thread. I have just read on flyer tallk that there will be a 6 days of mourning for the kings sisters funeral from 15th november is this true and will all entertainment establishments be closed.

  8. If you take Hwy 1 south from Chiang Rai and are going into Lampang be sure to stop at the Pha Thai Cave, 15 km south of Ngao. It's not really a cave but a huge overhang that still has the red dye hand prints and primitive drawings on the wall. It's on the southbound side. Look for the big parking area, spirit houses and vendors. The cave is a short walk from where you park. Overnight in Lampang or Phrae (21 km north of Den Chai). I've also done Phayao, Nan, Phrae as part of a trip into that area but it will take more time. Nan has a nice hotel right in the middle of the city.
  9. We will be taking the family on a short tour around the north area of thailand a little bit of help needed on the last leg of the trip. starting Khon Kean to Phitsanulok (1st night) and then to Chiang Mai (2nd night) and then to Chaing Rai (3rd night) we have planned our route and attractions to see so far. we will then be heading back to Khon Kean I would like some advise on the route to take back omitting Phitsanulok and having our 4th night some were else any suggestions

  10. I have visited thailand twice this year on 30 days tourist stamp. In november I am planning to fly U.K to Australia with a stopover of 4 days in thailand and 3 weeks later back to uk with a stop over in Thailand of 30 days. Whilst in Thailand I want to visit Kuala Lumphur for 4 days and back to Thailand and then to Vietnam for a couple of days and then back to thailand.. Do you think I might have any trouble with Thai Immigration because of so many visit in such a short time. Hope this makes sence
