  1. I would be very appreciative for any current information as to the conditions in Kamala, the rebuilding of the Kamala Beach Hotel, and the shops and restaurants nearby.  Most specifically, I'd like to know anything about Mrs. Rosa and Mr Ben from Fashion Point Tailor.  In 2002 and 2003 I spent  many December days in the vicinity and I would like to return again...

I'm sorry i don't know about your friends but i passed through Kamala about a week ago and its basically a building site. Most of the businesses haven't re-opened or been rebuilt. I think i only saw 1 bar open.

They are also doing a lot of rebuilding in the school, i heard they are expanding it to include a highschool or something.

The Kamala Beach Hotel is open and operating as normal.

  2. I'm not sure if it will ever be shown in Thailand, but if you are not there, and in your own country, keep an eye out for it if it opens at a "foriegn/art" film theater near you when it will eventually be widely released here in America, Europe and the Asia ( The print that I saw was subtitled in English ). Even though Spurrier now is trying very hard to show this film to Thai audiences in theaters, I would not be surprised in the slightest if one see the DVD being sold on Sukumvit very soon...

I wonder if it be available on the copy DVD market in Thailand? If its released as a "foriegn/art" film overseas then probably not. Would like to check it out.

I think Shutter was pretty good as Thai ghost flics go. Some good plot twists.
