    Yes

That is what I meant by birth certificate plus a copy.

Thank you.   I do have a bit of a complicated question, but I promise that will be the my last one, and then I won´t take any more of your valuable time.

Is a Non O a Non O or are they different. Meaning:  Could I apply and receive a Non O based on having a child in for example Savannakhet, BUT then when I am back in Thailand apply for a 1 year extension of that Non O at an immigration office based on the RETIREMENT rules ?  Or is the immigration able to see that the Non O from the consulate is based upon having a child ?

Thank you in advance, you are properly the most valuable member for all expats. Have you considered accepting donations ? Maybe in the form of crypto currencies.

The embassy in Vientiane and the consulate in Savannakhet do not ask for financial proof.

You will have no problem getting a single entry non-o based upon being the parent of a Thai.

You will need their birth certificate plus a copy and a copy of their there registry in a tambien ban.

No need for photos other than the 2 that are needed for the visa application form and one for the Lao visa on arrival.

Do you need to bring the original birth certificate ?

You would get a 90 day entry.

You could apply for a one year extension of stay if you are the legal father of your child and can meet the financial requirements of 400k baht in a Thai bank for 2 months or proof of 40k baht income.

Or you could get a 60 day extension to visit your child.

@ubonjoe So I just learned that being mentioned on my child's birth certificate is not enough to get a Non O in Savannakhet, I also need to go through the Thai justice system to be approved as the legal father, and bring that document.
Are you able to confirm this ?  Thanks in advance !

So when you get back in to Thailand you will get 90 days at first or ? And then what do you do ?

  5. I flew out from Suvarnabhumi Sunday afternoon. Paid my 20.000 Baht fine for little over 3 years overstay. Signed a lot of papers and promised not to do it again as they made sure I knew that new rules was about to take effect, then I was of to Phnom Penh. Got the tourist visa from the embassy there, and Friday afternoon I was back in Suvarnabhumi, and got my 2 months visa. No questions asked, did´nt even raise an eyebrow..in fact the immigration officer barely looked at me.

My advice...If you have overstay GET OUT NOW.....and then back in :)

  7. Friend of mine had an overstay of 1 year.

Went out from CNX to BKK to PP. He got a tourist visa in PP then flew back to Thailand at BKK Airport (the overstay stamp was in his passeport and the officer saw it) they only asked him what he's planning to do this time around and he told them he want to get an ED visa. They let him in with smile, no problems.

You will be fine. If i had a suggestion i would say, go to PP and go to any hotel (11 Happy backpacker my preference) and ask them for the visa service (45$ USD and you have to wait 4 days, 55$ for 3 days) then they give you back your passeport with a new tourist visa. After that, just fly to BKK airport.

How long ago was this Shocky ?  Do you know if I flew out/in at Suwarnabhumi or Don Muang ?

"SICK...."  Did you get an overstay stamo in your passport ?

    THANKS GUYS !

Just have the 20K baht ready when you leave the country to anywhere. There is no risk of repercussions when leaving the country voluntarily or afterwords.

Don't even think about try to bribe your way out of overstay stamp.

The greatest risk is getting caught before you leave.

Why worry now? Stay another 3 years and just proceed with life LOL

Yeah right ? Waste of money leaving IF I am gonna do the same thing when I get back in. BUT had a close call with the men in brown a while ago, being caught on my motorbike in an alcohol control, and was very very lucky to get out of it without spending the night in jail/court.....made me think

  9. Yup your in big trouble In the last 3 days they have been arresting everyone with overstays of more that 1 year. What they are doing is throwing those people in jail setting up a time to go to court and you are going to need a lawyer to get you out of that jam If you go to a real prison here there is a guy names Bubba (yes he was in a US prison but came to Thailand and overstayed as well) waiting for your sweet tender body and wants to to unspeakable things with you .

Just kidding. IF you to to the airport and a air ticket to leave and pay you will not have a problem. I had an overstay of  6 months paid left and have been back without incident. THey only care about the fine

Ha ha ha---- Phew-....  Thank you

  10. Two years ago a friend of mine had a 5 year overstay he purchased a ticket to the UK paid his 20,000 baht fine and left 6 months later he came back in on a tourist via but sadly passed away a few months after his return

Thanks for the story, and sorry about your friend

  11. I put an extra 1000 baht note in my fee when paying the overstay, although everyone on ThaiVisa gave me hell for it.

However, I didn't point out the fact there's 21,000 baht there, because as others have said, that would constitute bribing an immigration official.  I just kept my mouth shut, so this way he got an extra 1000, and if he called me on it, I would just say "sorry, I must have counted incorrectly".

Sorry, did you already do this Nautilus ? And I assume it worked out fine ?

  12. I got 3 years overstay so far, what do you recommend I do, and what will the consequences be ? I am aware that I should get to Suvarnabhumi and "check out" with a one way ticket in my hand but:

Do I need to go to my home country or will another Asian country like for example Singapore do ?

What are the chances of being deported/banned if I leave voluntarily ?

If I get an overstay stamp in my pass, can I return to Thailand ?

Should I "count wrong" and put an extra 2000,-  Baht on top the fine of 20.000, and ask the officer NOT to stamp my passport with the overstay visa ?

Should I bring a lawyer to the airport ?

    Thanks in advance !
