  1. Tapping...looks like fly swatting 555

Matter of fact, I can remember every teacher from my highschool...either they were good at doing their job in whichever way, or they sucked.

You know, I might've digged her excuse...if it weren't for that horrible unmotivated facial expression, unmotivated body movement and unmotivated speech while doing so...sure does look more like a random superior display.

Last bet I could place for the random shooting into the blue contest...her social teachings were about drinking lao khao, skipping work, staying xenophobic and using Failbook...oh, and selfies of course.

  2. One page and hours late ron my part, and not one comment on shaman rain dances and the likes? You guys let me down here lol

Please be very careful what you write about this subject.

Also be careful what you say about, oh god where to start...rape, murder, skin color, NWO, banks, corruption, education, your neighbor, your neighbor's wife, christianity, buddishm, hinduism, muslims, LGBT, terrorism, women, children, sharks, fish and clowns. And many more. Very many more.

If this is a patent of the King or not is beyond trivial. Important is, if it is safe to use for the area affected (during and after) and how efficient it is. If it costs more money than it can make profit or turn into something worthwhile otherwise (and this does not include the worthless human life), then it isn't a thing that will be made use of. Although science can modify it to some degree already, (fully) controlling it is currently out of the question, though eventually that will likely be a thing of the past as well...yet again, who cares...we still haven't gotten past the stage of greed and an eye for an eye.

  3. police had no mandate to chase and apprehend them.

The only chase I've ever seen here is when they do their random motorcycle busting and furiously wave with the flashlight to "have them slow down and get what's coming to them". Oh yea, the police guy may actually step onto the road and walk/jog (powerwalk?) 2 steps after them before deeming that he can't get them to do what he wanted them and goes after the next ones coming. I hope I never end up in a chase like that, I might actually start pumping adrenaline for all the wrong reasons.

  4. What are they complaining about? No soap drama? No..e..e..ed-ed-ed-edu-educational stuff? Earlier I saw a, or rather got a few glimpses, of the history of King Prajadhipok...without sound but surprisingly english subtitles...which I guess I'd consider a step up from last times most cheesiest drama with random violence and elitist face saving ever.

Last I've seen is people picking their nose and feet before happily packing your sundried meat for tonights dinner...but I guess I got my priorities wrong here, thanks for pointing out my uneducated understanding there, Health Ministry.

Now I'm going to wait for the next news of this kind along the lines of "Puplic Hospitals ought to ask patience if they can change channels, after complaints to the 1111 hotline were made about channels being switched at the wrong times, leaving many with cliffhangers". You can do it Thailand, I'm counting on you for this.

  5. There is no "bridging the gap" in education at all currently, you can only make the gaps shorter, but not close them...unfortunately, this is a worldwide problem and unrelated to weapon dealings, murder, hate, making money and so forth, so that will be a problem for quite some more time.

I myself have picked up alot of educational channels on Youtube long ago, while obviously not tailored to a specific topic and therefore rather broad. I have found alot of interesting stuff so far that school hasn't even scratched the surface on to get me excited in any field, most impacting of them biology...god (haha...) how I hated it in school, but since Youtube, it's among my fav things now. After space and the universe that is hehe

Dare say, aside from reading/speaking/writing/basic math, there was nothing school did (much) better than Youtube for me as of now.

  6. Wow...all this constant crying about this "democracy" stuff. It looks amazing on paper alright, but in practice it hasn't lived up to it's power yet. All I can see is a bunch of countries run into the ground and struggling with all kinds of sheet, where "demo" is being ignored leading to even more issues.

Can't wait for democrazy to fail worldwide or have a better thing worked out, as far as world politics go...rather take 1 dude/dudess with a brain that gets things done rather than that insolent bunch of hot air beating around the bush afraid to upset a child.

We still have more pressing matters worldwide, this "illegal coup" just ain't one of the bigger ones.

  7. This is an excellent response to a serious problem

You mean the "Yea we got the news, we'll check it out" response 2 days ago to a "nothing was wrong, keep going" response yesterday to today's "Ehh I guess we could check it again" response?

There is no "give them a break" as the US FDS dropped the recall on them, might as well just follow suit and get your reimburstment on the first day. But since I have no idea how much money we are talking here, let alone loss/profit/whatever, this is obviously just the "common sense" approach to the matter and not the "logical sense" one.

  8. Gen Sansern said the cabinet approved a budget of Bt30 billion
“Of the total budget, Bt20 million will be transferred to Myanmar, Bt5 million to Cambodia, Bt3 million to Vietnam and Bt1.5 million to Lao,” Gen Sansern said.

Let's assume the 30 billion approved are the real deal...and those 4 countries get the added total of 29.5....million. Who wants to call dibs on who is pocketing the rest? biggrin.png

Let's assume the 30 billion are actually million....and those 4 countries getthe added total of 29.5...million. Let's throw in the 25k on the side. Somebody else feel like calling dibs now? biggrin.png

Human life is worthless for Thai Government

    Not quite. It's worthless everywhere.

You just see everybody else chiming in with their indoctrinated "human life is precious" BS so they don't stand out of the crowed and get singled out.

You see illigal downloads etc getting nailed with some hardcore jail time, on the other hand a rapist runs off with a few years on probation. Money talks, not that human dispensable waste that just keeps accumulating.

  9. Hard to believe how many posters blame the Thai education system

Pick any country and their education system, many are outdated, far too many way too outdated, some may have adjust but still need work. While one may not need to specifically pick the thai system (albeit one would because TV...), blaming the education works just about in 11 out of 10 times worldwide.

That is because things are getting too easy to get. There is no need top put your brain into function to find out something. Just push a few buttons or clicks and the answer is on the screen.

And you would be an incredible fool not to take advantage of this amazing power.

Not going to argue that it's not an excuse to slack off gaining knowledge overall, but one also shouldn't waste learning each and every state including capital and population and other "meaningless" things like that. It's also great that you can just pick any statement thrown in a chat and check for accuracy on the fly, maybe you just pick one of the great topics like (raw) egg consumption and get this massive split of information that you then might feel compelled to spend some more time on.

As everything can be used, everything can be abused too, these devices definitely are no exception to that rule.

The (linked) studies above might be good for starters, but it's a fair bit too early to draw conclusion yet. I haven't read any of the articles or studies besides scrolling through mind you, but apparant flaws can be seen right away.

All the downsides listed come at no real surprise, most parents are busy working their job or 2 just to stay afloat, spending time with the kids and properly raising them is therefore decreased and thus leads to neglient supervision and so forth.

Times are changing rapidly and the people in charge to make a change are to slow to catch the train.

Moderation is required, more thought into such a system is required and most of all, time and observation are required to adjust to the ever changing development.

  10. Very debateable topic, age matters alright, but supervision and control even more so.

With our world running ever further down the future of technology, it needs helps along the way. It's still fairly new, studies aren't "perfected" by definition and cause and effect boil down to the individuals already.

Games for education so far have been poor and need much more thought put into it so they can be properly used, but seeing as our school systems are triple galactically outdated this doesn't really come at a surprise.

Some schools have implented Minecraft into their curriculum, which seems to have had a really great boost, though I haven't followed up with that recently to see the actual turn out of it.

Then again, we might as well just keep blaming games (among other things) for all the social problems, educational deficits, school shooters and what have you, it's not like humanity so far hasn't been extremely amazing at ignoring (easy) root problems and just pointing fingers at the next best thing to avert attention from the things that matter.
