Is it still the case that you can make the report 14 days before or 7 days after the date shown in the passport?

There is a photo studio in the basement of Future Park in Rangsit that does passport photos. I got some there eight months ago when I had to apply for a new British passport. They had a list which mentioned the requirements of different countries, and I think that Canada was on the list.

Chartchai Parasuk, an economist, predicted some months ago that the reopening of the country would result in an influx of illegal workers because demand for their services will be so great that employers will be ready to break the law, as they often are, and that these illegal immigrants will spark another round of infections.

So many uninformative stories! It is closed! No explanation. Is there one in the Thai language article, I wonder?

48 cases in Bang Saphan seems like a lot. That ought to have been mentioned in the summary.

His goal for Thailand is 'net zero emissions by 2065.' What will the country look like by that time?

Assuming it's just for calls then Skype local number is a good option and works well for me. They have a choice of UK area codes. Calls to my London number come through to my phone app or PC where I am in the world - must be connected on 4G or WiFi though. Just £5.16 per month (received calls are free). A more businesslike option is "RingCentral" that works in a similar way with a huge number of features - I've been using this for my business for the last 4 years.
Thank you very much. I had never heard of Skype local number, but I will try it

I need a UK phone number and I see that there are a good number of websites that provide them. Could anyone recommend one. With thanks.

When I first met my wife, 35 years ago or so, she was uncomfortable with the fact that I would often sit and read a book. She said that it was anti-social. Her family had no books other than Buddhist texts and it was rare in those days to see anyone in a public place reading a book. She has led a perfectly happy life, though, without books. Each to his own.

There are always exceptions which would result in an "old" sign on a new car.
For Bangkok you can roughly guess the higher the leading digit (unique in Thailand) the later the sign has been issued.
I think they have reached "9" now?
Will be interesting what their next botch workaround will be instead of a basic reform. I doubt there are many countries with such a confusion of plate types and exhausted number ranges etc.
Seven years ago, my wife got a Bangkok number beginning with 3, but two years ago I got one beginning with 1.

Last year, in Nakhon Phanom, I got my documents from the bank the day before I submitted my application, but the immigration officer sent me back to the bank. Everything had to be done the same day.

No, the agent can't help with that. They can help with the queueing at immigration office/translation/filling up form/making sure all the required documents are completed etc.
Thanks for clarifying that.

You are not wrong. An agent can do very little if your actually having the money in bank etc.
The requirements for the non O and extension are very straightforward.
The hurdle for some folk is the funds in bank requirement.
Thank you.

If you have 1 million baht in your bank account since Aug 27, you are good. Just change your tourist visa to 3 months non-O visa first.
You don't need to apply for an extension of 1 month on your tourist visa if you get your non-O visa before the expiry of your tourist visa.
You should have no problem extending during the last month of your 3 months non-O visa if you maintain the 800k.
If you hate all the hassle, you might want to hire an agent to do some of the tedious work.
Given that documents need to be obtained from a bank on the day you apply for the non-O visa and that the bank requires signatures, an agent surely cannot take care of that part. Or am I wrong?

Rangsit might be a perfect reflective example of why flooding is so prevalent among the BKK Metro lowlands.
Historically, Rangsit [and other broad locales] was set aside as a natural agricultural area with numerous khlongs criss crossing the region.
Look at that area today. One big slab of "developed" areas - shopping malls, business and industrial parks, university outlets, extended motorways and transit monstrosities, etc....
Don't have to be too wise and observant to understand what's wrong with this picture.
You are right. Building on flood plains is asking for trouble. However, 30 years ago, when my wife said that she wanted to have a house in Muang Ake, I didn't question her choice because I wasn't in Thailand and I knew little about Thai geography or history. Now, the area is undesirable because people know that the government cannot protect these low-lying districts from flooding.

We are in Pathum Thani.
Local head chap has been broadcasting (from a boat) to move your valuables upstairs if you are on the "wrong" side of the flood barrier (road).
No sign of sandbags being available yet but many of the low lying houses are already flooding at the ground floor.
Good luck to you! Our house in Rangsit was under 3m of water for months in 2011. it was a terrible experience.

I am driving my second CRV. I had the first for 5 years and I've had the current one for two years. I am an old man and I wanted a comfortable car for long journeys. I have had no problems with either car. The mileage is good (nearly 14 kms / litre), the car handles well, it has good acceleration, and it is very spacious. It is not flashy, but it looks nice. It is also quiet, so that I can enjoy music on a long journey. The only complaint that I have heard is that the rear seats are a little hard. My driver's seat, though, is great.

That's a staggering 66,104 baht per person!
But they totaled nearly 9,000 nights, which is only about 5,000 baht per day/night per person, so they are not exactly flinging money around.

I am going to Prachuap Khiri Khan Hospital on Tuesday to get a Pfizer vaccination. The message says that it is free of charge. This is my first vaccination.

Be aware that, in spite of what is written on the TM7 form, many offices still insist on your presence for an extension unless you are either in hospital or a care home. It may be best to try to contact your immigration office directly, explain the situation, and see how they react to the idea of sending someone in your place.
Thanks for the warning. This time, I shall drive and take it easy. I'll go to Immigration in the afternoon and probably stay overnight in a hotel.

Sounds like you've got all your requirements in order, including financials, so you don't need to pay an agent 12000 baht to fudge your financials. Instead, get a doctor's letter stating your physical condition advises against a long trip to Immigration. Shouldn't be a big deal, as the bottom of the TM7 form clearly states "in person" except:
Certainly you have a disability. So, put your completed package together and pay someone 1500 baht, or whatever, to travel to Immigration. Make sure the picture on your TM7 looks like you're about to expire. ????
Thank you very much. I should start reading forms carefully as I think that I qualify. That is very good to know. I appreciate the help.

Which method will you be using? 800K? Monthly income/transfers?
Impressive. I went this week and had to wait ~ 50 minutes from payment to passport return. But there may have been some issues with personnel that day? Many staff/IOs coming and going, all with fresh bandaids on their arms, so maybe a blood drive or mandatory testing (antibody?) of some type? There were fewer than 15 people in the "L" desk area, and I had number L1-03.
I use the 800K method and only withdraw the interest, so book shows that the deposit has never dipped below 800k.

What did they require from the bank? The usual letter, a statement of the account, and photocopies of all (?) the pages of the bank book?
