  1. Hiya,
I'm heading over to Phuket soon for a working holiday and now I'm over 40 I'd like to look into getting my Testosterone levels checked and managed.
Can anyone with any experience in the this tell me where I should start?
    Thanks :)

Odd that, my personal experience of bail repayment says otherwise.  What was the outcome of your bail refund request being denied and why was it denied?

not denied, delayed until tourist visa expired, happened to everyone in the group on a tourist visa (around 20 of us) at the time. Not even mad, I chalk it up to idiot tax and it taught me a valuable lesson which saved me a lot more money in the future

News from someone who went to Koh Phangan police station today to help arrested friends to pay their bail:

"Everyone's going to need to pay fines (Bail is 10,000 and fine will be delivered in Samui tomorrow for 5000) and produce their Passports."

Nice little earner that one, no chance that anyone on a tourist visa will get their bail money returned before their visa expires.

  4. If you just take it to places like Silom and Khao San rd you will be fine.

    Sent from my c64

I'm going to assume you're being sarcastic and I'll be fine, a straight answer would have been nice but late on a Sunday night probably wouldn't have been the best chance to get one :)

  5. I'm stopping over in Bangkok for a few hours while i wait for my evening flight to Chiang Mai and was wondering if it's safe to lug my laptop and phone around with me in my backpack considering it's Songkran.
I know this would be out of the question in Chiang Mai because it they'd be destroyed by all the water being sprayed but I don't know if they go as nuts in Bangkok when it comes to drenching everyone with water.

  6. Yeah it didn't really seem any cheaper.
Granted, it's only been released a few days ago so it's going to be top dollar but thought there may be some benefit to getting it duty free.
Will have to compare prices, eBay seems the cheapest but with electronics the warranty is as important as the device so not sure how that works.
Have never had a smart phone that didn't need to be replaced within it's 2 year warranty.

  7. Hi Yall,

My old smartphone got destroyed during Songkram (rookie mistake, I know) so I need to get a new one, would there be much benefit to picking one up in the duty free shopping section of Suvarnabhumi International or KLIA2?
Curious about international warranties as well, anyone got any experience or advice on this topic?

  8. Yeah you're right just a bit gunshy seeing's as I did the Mai Sai run a fortnight ago and saw a mate FB this recently:

Hey all I have a big issue! I'm at the border in Mae Sai and they aren't letting anyone through! They are saying new regulations we can only fly out of the country and won't let me cross into Myanmar. Anyone know what's up?? This is for everyone here mostly Canadian and American on different types of visas

It's like Thailand's versions of Border Runners Scared Straight.... or something Tom Hanks would star in

  9. "Seems crazy for me that someone can take pills without even knowing what it is ?"

I will guarantee that 99.99% of people take pills without knowing what it is. They trust the seller (in western world that is the doctor and or pharmacist) is providing something to help them achieve a desired result. And please don't come back arguing that doctors are qualified. How many times have you heard/read reports of people getting sick or dying or with serious side-effects from the medications prescribed to them??

This is 100% true by the way, prescription drugs were the number 1 cause of preventable death in the USA in 2013.

  10. Probably some herbal placebo stuff of which the only thing that is going to contribute to any weight loss is a strong dose of appetite reducing caffeine.
Anything harder than that would be a pharmaceutical stimulant can only be prescribed by a doctor, and will not be sold OTC by even the dodgiest of dodgy pharmacists for fear of harsh new(ish) penalties for those involved in yaba (methamphetamine) production of which they can be used as a precursor.

  11. You got a new visa exempt entry (it is not a VOA or a tourist visa) not an extension. The 15 day entry you got is normal for most people at a border crossing.

You can apply for a single entry tourist visa in Penang that will give you a 60 day entry that can be extended for 30 days at immigration.

    Thanks ubonjoe,

Just wanted to be perfectly clear because I messed up this Burma extension so royally that I don't wan't any more headaches hence the request to explain it to me like a 7 year old child:

    1. Fly to Penang

    2. Visit the Thai embassy in Penang

    3. Apply for a single entry tourist visa at Thai embassy in Penang

    4. Fly back to Chiang Mai

    5. After 60 days visit Thai embassy in Chiang Mai and extend for another 30 days

    Thank you for your patience.....

  12. I'd love to go to Penang again to do a visa run.
    My situation:
Australian, got 30 day tourist visa on arrival in Chiang Mai then went to Mae Sai which only got me 14 days extension so need another extension by the 9th of May.
Is there any way to get a 60 day tourist visa by flying to Penang, or would it be just 30 and do I have to visit immigration office there to arrange it all?
    Thanks
