  1. I am trying to confirm where coconut and palm sugar in Thailand are obtained. There seems to be some confusion. My understanding is: COCONUT SUGAR - NAM TAM MAPHRAO (น้ำตาลมะพร้าว) Tree used: Coconut palm (Cocos nucifera) Sugar obtained from: sap of the flower buds, or sometimes the tree itself PALM SUGAR/COCONUT PALM SUGAR - NAM TAM PIP (น้ำตาลปี๊บ) Tree used: Borassus (Palmyra palm) and Aranga pinnata (sugar palm) Sugar obtained from: sap of the flower buds, or sometimes the tree itself Can someone advise if both of these sugars are obtained from both the sap of the flower buds and the tree, or only one? Thank you for your help.
