  1. I fitted bridgestone dueler 673 m/t 32x11.5R15

From cockpit. The rims are Daytona Rays.

I part exchanged the 3 month old 16rim original ranger wheels and paid extra about 45000฿. The value of the old set was 25000฿.

I'd post a pic but can't from my phone. This was in Korat.

  2. I would never buy or give a car to someone who doesn't have a drivers license. Insurance will be void and if he is stopped by police they take the car and he can end up in jail. If police know his daughters farang husband bought it for him. Vet they will ask for a handout 30-50.000 would not be unexpected if they have taken him to the police house. If she want her dad to have some means of transportation and that can load buy him a flatbed motorcycle and some sunblock.

Here is Isaan if the police stop you and you don't have a valid license you bay 200฿ fine and they give you a receipt which ensures if you get caught again in that same day you will avoid the fine!

    I shit you not.

  3. To summarize, he's had some really bad luck with his and Ford has not been helpful.

Ahh I understand now. I'm happy with my ranger. With ford service not so much as yesterday went in for my first service 15000 km which was promised to be free when we purchased car. 'Free' meant 3000฿ - apparently we had free coupons which were deducted off about another 3000. They changed the oil and aircon filter. They 'couldn't' check wheel alignment and brakes as I upgraded my wheels from cockpit.

  4. Good to know they rarely reject them. I would think so since the local office put so much effort in having all details correct before submitting the actual application.

Come to think of it there was an Aussie gentleman in front of me and he overheard the officer telling me that it's not arrived yet from bangkok; he told me he had to call and today was one week after his stamp date. So they must've a backlog of some sorts. I guess I should've called this morning but I wrongly assumed that they will have to have it ready by my stamp date so I will not be on overstay. And the Korat office seems so understaffed. First time I went 3 months ago there was at least five officers dealing with the public and two clerks sitting in a desk helping everyone fill in their forms correctly.

Anyway fingers crossed am feeling little more hopeful now :)

Just in case it is rejected can I apply again for the 60 day to visit wife (as I have already applied for that when my visa expired in June). Can you keep applying for the 60 day extension in succession?

    Many thanks once again

  5. Yes so frustrating but useless getting pissy with them. Just had to bite my lip and shut up.

I hope against hope that my application will be approved and not rejected hence why taking long time. They shouldn't reject it tho the amount of times I had to go with minute details to add/change application. Am a bit worried about proof of income as they took only affidavit from notary in Malta certified by consulate that my father deposits 45000฿ monthly in my account. I certified bank statement showing this for nothing as they did not include them with the application.

If they reject it will they give me time to go outside thailand for a visa or appeal the decision or will I be automatically on overstay?

    Bit worried now

  6. plus the girl had blonde hair in her hands,

The arrested farang suspect doesn't have blonde hair (and the suspected Burmese workers probably don't either).

The murdered girl does however have blonde hair.

All the stuff about blonde hair in her hand is probably a translation error as it says see thong which is golden hair. Thais often refer this colour to any lighter than brown,

anyway if dna matches it is his if it doesn't it's not so we just have to wait.

    Exactly.

    See thong - dirty blonde/light brown/straw

    See lieung - yellow/blonde

  7. 7th what? Brain f**t? Lol sorry couldn't resist.

I do hope they get easier. I chose extension over visa to avoid border runs as before was living in Phuket with no personal transport.

I will be based in Mae hong son now so much easier to switch to visa mode if I should so be inclined. Another plus for extension tho is I might wish to get permanent residence in the long run.

  8. Ahh you have typo in your first post. 28 September should be august. I get it now.

I would risk it tomorrow but now have already booked a slot at ford to service my pickup for thurs so f it.

I will be really pissed off if they won't stamp me I thurs now. With all the money I've spent getting everything ok for extension could've gone out of the country twice for a visa ...

Thanks for your input joe as always. Much appreciated sir.

  9. My due date is 20 sep which is this Saturday (closed) and Friday I have to travel north.

Just got off the phone with immigration and was curtly told the approval is not ready yet. I guess I'll have to take a chance and go Thursday.

I would think if the approval would be ready by Friday morning, Thurs afternoon shouldn't be a problem.

One last hurdle and not have to think about my damn extension for a whole year kopun pejao!!!

  10. Just checking if I did my research correctly.

In order to apply for an extension of stay based on working you have to declare you are earning 50000฿ (European) if based on marriage 40000฿ monthly.

    40000฿ x 12 = 480000฿ yearly so tax exempt (under 500000฿)

    Am I correct?

Also if you state 50000฿ on your work permit do you get taxed on that or on the actual payslip you get. Ie if you earn less or more money you would be calculate tax accordingly?

    Many thanks for your input

  11. I just use the milk that's available in the supermarkets.

I've used Dutch Mill and Mejii, both give similar results. I always use the full fat milk (Dark blue top).

Last time I made some, I used gold top, that was on special offer, but there was no real improvement in taste.

I really do recommend you try making this, as it's really simple to make. The results are delicious, but the basic cheese definitely needs salt, herbs or something else to give it flavour.

You can find videos on you tube, just search 'Farmers Cheese'

Wish I read this yesterday regarding which milk to use. :(http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/topic/733489-commercial-milk-for-hobby-cheese-making/#entry8384973
