Notice you use the centreline of the uprights as main dimensions which would in most instances be the room interior sizes.

Is that the conventional method in Thailand?

    Short answer Yes

I noticed this on the drawing we got back from our engineer too

Never heard that in Thailand anything technically demanding is illegally copied other than T-shirts.

This is not China, where they copy everything, even airplanes and high-speed trains. The new Chinese Comac passenger jets are quite exact copies of Airbus.

    But Thailand? Come on!

Stealing IP goes beyond copying and manufacturing

How many govt agencies here use pirated software?

Having worked on both Airbus and Comac I can assure you that it is not a copy with the Chinese one being generations behind in just about every way

  3. Obviously disgusting behaviour and no way for any decent person to act. There are rules in place to deal with this so just give him a 6k fine

Why the majority here are amping up the penalties one can only assume is due to his nationality.

Do those wanting extreme punishment also believe that rule should apply for Thai's, as I stopped counting at 30 Thai's yesterday in Surat not wearing masks including the moron who was telling everyone to sign in at the door at Central festival. Apparantly if you are Thai, masks dont matter but signing in a book does

Everyone should wear masks as covid does not care where you are from. Those who don't should all be treated with the same loathing

And your wife said nothing when you had this sort of racist silly answer ?

She should have asked to the man\lady answering that to you if he\she was

ready to pay for all her expenses when you will be back to ''your'' country

She is very non confrontational but was not a happy camper

No need for him to pay for her as I come from a civilized country where discrimination is illegal

Reports are there is no testing being done at the land border. Can anyone clarify, or does anyone know someone who has entered Phuket by air in the last 24 hours who has been asked to do a test ?

I really believe this “news” should be clarified first before the Thai bashers take the bait.

Just got tested at the land border. Asked why the 60% price hike since yesterday, got told go to own country

Strange my Thai wife never got any of this attitude when we lived in the US for the last 3 years

  6. Hi all

Currently in a bit of a pickle. I previously worked as a teacher in TL in the public school system. Like most teachers I met in a similar situation, despite what was written on my contract and despite all the paperwork being supplied, no work permit was ever given. This was one of the reasons for me leaving 12 months ago. I have since been offered a position for a MNC at manager level and want to apply for a work permit.

My concern is that if they ask why I was here working for 12 months (on and off as I was just filling in), no work permit was obtained?

Will this lead to my instant arrest, jail and being forced to pose for a photo while pointing at my passport? Or just refusal of my WPermit?

Any one else been in a similar situation able to offer advice would be greatly appreciated

    cheers

  7. Seems to be a few misconceptions about bubbles. A bubble is when the value of the asset rises with no relationship to the rise in income from the asset.

So as I am not familiar with the CM housing market, could some residents share if rental returns have risen at a similar rate to housing prices.

I have a keen interest as I am moving there next week but it seems like a massive change since I was last there (18 months ago)

    cheers

Great way to increase staff morale,  announce a potential salary increase and in no time flat it's on hold.

Aren't we all glad Thailand has moved past the populist unfunded policy announcements of the past government and into a well planned fully funded system of policies coffee1.gif
Why do state employees merit a pay rise that is double the inflation rate? Wouldn't this money be better served say, subsidising really needy farmers?

I do not disagree with you in any way. I wish it was too.

My point was merely the current trend of announcements without any thought beyond the press conference. It reminds me as an Aussie of Kevin Rudd who wanted to e seen at daily press conferences yet little was done in planning or follow up.

Given the overuse of chemicals here and the runoff into water supplies, I think it would be hard to reach a level of organic as defined by most developed countries.

The other issue is corruption with a small paper bag being all that is needed to increase a crops value with an organic tick.

Happy if they could make a viable organic farming industry though

I'm not sure why Thailand would be different than developed countries re. chemicals, pesticides in soil or water.

I am guessing you are suggesting western (developed ) nations haven't used chemicals in the past .....so growing organic food is an easier process.

There is a process in growing organic food on previously chemically etc applied land whether it's Thailand or a developed country.

It's a 3 year transition...so no chemicals pesticides can be applied during that period.... then is certified by an international standard.

It is the amount of chemicals being added here compared to developed countries (not as much as China though). This would require that farmers that share a common water source all switch to organic at the same time or there would be no real benefit. In developed countries there are laws about runoff that either don't exist in Thailand or are not enforced leading to contamination of both land or water.

The other issue is trust. Would you believe a Thai organic certification when a cash payment can easily get the tick of approval.

  11. RIP the poor lady.........and condolences to her husband.

Sadly, it seems the police have really narrowed down the cause of her death.....suicide, murder or accident......one has to wonder how these imbiciles think sometimes!

Maybe they are getting training off Donald Rumsfeld coffee1.gif

RIP for the lady and condolences to her family. This seems to happen way too much here
