I try not to be pedantic about grammar, but I do think saying "I would of, could of or should of" should result in a long jail sentence.

Well, I dug down the back of the sofa and found 100 million baht I had forgotten about. Now I just have to decide where to invest it:

Option #1: tie it all up for ten years so I can buy 1 rai of jungle in the sticks

Option #2: send it to the Nigerian prince who is offering big rewards in return for a little financial help

Difficult choice, but I'm leaning towards #2 as the safer and wiser investment.

I understand that as an ageing ex-pat Brit, my official role on this forum is to be a 'whinging pom,' and complain about everything on principle.

But perhaps you'll forgive me for sounding an optimistic note, probably inspired by England's glorious 4-0 win overnight (yes, football really is coming home this time).

We live in ASEAN, and the time is NOW (although I'm reading the time from my Windows 10 computer, so that may be inaccurate). Therefore, the new name makes sense to me. 

Looking in the Wayback Machine, I see that the original version of ThaiVisa was focused only on Thai visas, so the name made sense:

Over time, the forum outgrew the name. Now it's growing to a new stage, and has a new name to reflect the growth...that's a good thing!

Living in Thailand is awesome, being in the heart of South-East Asia doubly so. This is a wonderful, fascinating and fast-changing region, and we should celebrate being part of it. So good luck to ASEAN NOW and all the expats who sail on her.

I love living in Thailand, but I hate dealing with the bureaucracy here. I have better things to do than sit around for hours in the immigration office, only to be sent away again to find some obscure document or other. So for that reason alone, I find using an agent much the better option. 

Speedy Visa in Pattaya have done my renewals for the last five years, and I have always been happy with the return on the additional investment. The renewal is done quickly (together with my multiple entry visa), without fuss, and I never have to set foot in an immigration office. That suits me just fine!

I came to Thailand for an easier life, and working with an efficient agent helps to smooth out the few remaining wrinkles.
