I reckon you're just upset because the IO stamped you in without any extra questions,
hoping you could report about the awful treatment you received.
Where are these pens of which you speak and why would you need to use one?
I fill out the form on the plane stating where I'm staying, and flight details etc, but
then again I fly in and out quite often and prepare accordingly.
I too fill out mine on the plane on the fold down tray that I've wiped down with my own sanitizer when I first boarded the plane

Your evaluation and comments are not all true.
Plenty of Chinese not part of what you are describing.
Mostly younger staying in condos 1000's of them everyday especially in Pattaya. At The Base alone, I would guess 200 a day coming and going. Add just Unixx and Centric and it is many many more.
Coming here 2 or 3 together lots of females not part of any tours or being herded.
Totally agree. I live most the year in New Zealand where friends own Air BNB's and their biggest customer group which has evolved just in recent years is Chinese who are touring the country in rental cars. Not groups, just 1 or 2 cars. These just aren't young Chinese either but of all ages.

Hi I am ontop of streaming and I would advise to use an Xiaomi Mi 4 Tv box which is excellant for the price and far better than all the others I have tried except the expensive Nvidia Shield streaming box which is 3-4 times the price of the Xiaomi. I recently switched to the Nvidia from the Xiaomi and it is a better picture slightly but streaming abilities are similar. Debatable if it is worth the extra money.

Hi I have a Thai wife living in NZ with me and we always return to Thailand each year for 2-3 months. For 10 years I have always arrived on a visa exempt entry and at 30 days travel to one of the neighboring countries for a few weeks before returning to Thailand and getting another visa exempt entry, never been a problem. I have also regularly extended my 30 days visa exempt entry for the allowed extra 30 days and have never overstayed or breached my entry conditions. My travel agent has told me I will not be allowed into Thailand without either a visa or airline tickets out of Thailand before my 30 days is up. I don't think anyhing has changed but thought I had better check here just incase.
Appreciate all sensible advice

Believe you can use women's hosiery - remember my father had to wear after open heart surgery back in the 70's. Not thrilled about it but as had not been expected to survive surgery was happy to use.
Thanks for the reply, about to leave for the airport so will see what options I can find there

I
have to fly back to NZ on short notice for a family funeral on Monday. Last time I did the flight my feet and legs swelle badly. Does anyone know where I can get some compression socks preferably around Asoke or do they have them at Swampy airport?
Cheers

If leaving the country from either airport in Bangkok you will not be fined for a overstay of less than 24 hours. They just put a note in your passport that you overstay less than 24 hours.
At other airports or at a border crossing you will be fined 500 baht.
A one day overstay should not cause any problems in the future.
Thanks for the info

Hi I miscalculated my 30 visa exempt entry and are here 31 days. Do I need to get a 30 day extension or can I pay a 1 day overstay fee at the airport. Also will this affect me when I return to Thailand in the future. Thanks Alan

Strange how street food venders in bangkok (and elsewhere) were targeted and basically shut down as they were a health risk when the lack of air quality in Bangkok is going to kill everyone anyway.

Royal decree good, but Prayut and his cronies will keep thinking up any excuse possible to delay, delay, delay the election.
They dont need to maje up any excuse as the constitution the military put in place lets them appoint the 250 members of the upper house. The vote is for the lower house. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Senate_of_Thailand

Of course the china solution will have effect, do you think all Thai have 2 cars with even and uneven plates?
And how many powerplants are there in the Siam area??
What a nonsense again.....
I recently read an article that said if every vehicle was switched from petrol/deisel to electric overnight they would need 20 new power stations to power them. We are still a long way from electric vehicles taking over.

Had a pack of dogs turn on me one night on Koh Samui. Luckily I've owned several large dogs and worked with greyhounds so stood extra tall and with the loudest voice I could muster appeared aggressive leaving the dogs unsure and enough time to put a safe distance between me and the mutts

hictching might be considered illegal because you could pay a Thai to take you. By hitchhiking you are taking a job away from a Thai

Hitchhiking was the original way to go backpacking on a budget, but i'm not sure it still works these days. Young women travelling alone should be extra cautious for obvious reasons!
as said in earlier post "freedom camping" in cheap vans is the latest budget travel option or at least in the countries where the vans can be hired cheaply. Young women would be foolish to hitch alone and probably also with a partner. A couple of relevant links from my home country

perhaps he has to be frugal after not being able to use the 800, 000 baht he put in a thai bank?
why would he lose his money? Has something changed with the banking?

Travelling has many forms.
I prefer luxury these days, but would not swap the memories of my budget traveling days for anything.
yep, here in New Zealand we have an issue with "freedom camping" which was just camping when I was young and not totally over controlled because of tourists not willing to pay to camp so they take a dump in a toilet etc. but rather they would park for the night and just leave their rubbish and human waste on the side of the road. I'm with you, over budget traveling though I'm still on a budget. If you have $40 in your pocket you are only ever going to do one overnight bus trip when you could have flown for $40, budget traveling wears pretty thin quickly at 60 on those things. Gotta have a hotel room bigger than 20sm these days also, couldn't do the backpacker way nomore. Thailand doesnt need growth in anymore budget tourism but I fear the trends of the world will filter that way as farang bring hitching, freedom camping or whatever they think is frugal elsewhere with them to Thailand. I'm surprised nobody is renting budget campervans yet. Could you imagine the chaos? You should see the accidents close to the international airport near where I live as unskilled drivers rent and wreck vans within minutes. Imagine really bad farang drivers in vans on a holiday weekend like songkran with all those intoxicated Thais on the road. It is already chaos.
One thing I must say about hitching, if you can get rides its a great way to meet the locals. I hitched from Sydney to Darwin when young, it took 3 months and stayed with plenty of people I met along the way. I knew when I got to Darwin the only way I was ever leaving that place was in a plane. Good thing Java was close.

Thailand and a lot of other countries do not culturally get the idea of backpacking and hitchhiking. This is not the place to do they, they won't get it and they shouldn't.
I'm 60 years old and still sometimes hitch if it is the most convenient way. My Thai wife has no such cultural problems hitching with me in NZ. Would I hitch in LOS? No, I value my safety to much for that, my camera is probably worth more than 5 times the annual income of a Thai taxi driver. It may be the only thing of value I travel with but it is enough to create the possibility of a big problem. People have gone missing for far less. As for those hitching in Thailand, do it at your own peril, you are gambling with your life and probably too stupid or ignorant to realise. If anyone see's them at it again tell them Cambodia is a real easy country to hitch around. Bye-bye.

You are not even allowed to paint your own house. This is work a Thai could be employed to do. If nobody complains you should be sweet. I don't know if posting it on social media is the smartest move.
I answered you but forgot to add quote but aswell as my answer below a quick search found this from https://www.udonmap.com/udonthaniforum/prohibited-work-by-foreigners-in-thailand-t3372-30.html and I'm sure if you search you will find other similar stories

2 individuals in Bangkok,1 swede and 1 Scot were arrested for painting their own house and the Scot for building his own wall, while I lived in Bangkok! The Scot was deported and the Swede warned and fined! The Scot ,I had met and had some small talk prior to his arrest,The Swede was a friend of a friend! -
I've a friend who owns a couple of hotels in Jomtien and it was a friend of his who got hauled over the coals for painting his house. It was awhile ago and under a different government but I guess somebody complained and the authorities paid him a visit. Can't remember if he was fined or just harrassed. As I said in my initial post i wouldn't worry about it and doubt it will be an issue unless somebody complains

Great to see a sensible answer rather than the insulting remarks by most the posters here where you all seem too stupid to realize that actually these insults rather than badly demaean these three ladies actually lessens all you as people.
And furthermore I wouldn't be surprised if many of the posters are actually fat old Europeans here on retiremenet visas chasing young girls who are way to smart for you and scamming every dollar they can out of you.
