Police records are kept about those committing crimes, regardless of occupation. Kind of silly to imply there is a national database with remarks about your teaching.  License suspensions would be a different matter, but that wouldn't be law enforcement, either.  There have been rumors of a blacklist for teachers, but there was also one for schools, in LOS.

    Entirely without prejudice

I absolutely do not suggest or imply that the poster is any of the following

Believe me serious records are kept across the world about possible terrorists, Drug barons and kiddie fiddlers that is why when one enters Thailand they take a picture and your fingerprints, on top of that every hotel one books into will take a picture of ones passport which is then submitted to immigration the same day.

Correct me if I am wrong but I believe America ( the land of the free Ha ha) does the same and many other countries are following suit now

Defamation is a criminal offense in Thailand and would need to be reported to the police. A lawyer may be able to represent you  but is it worth it financially?  a decent lawyer may be able to pressure the school into desisting but you, the foreigner, start from a position of disadvantage. Win or lose it may suggest that your teaching career is over in Thailand either from misinformation or that you dare to stand up for yourself, however, there is a good chance you will get a result from the ministry of labour re your contract. is it worth the attention you would achieve for a couple of weeks salary?

Above is a list of considerations that may or may not help you decide what to do. Personally I think your time in Thailand is drawing to a close if teaching  is the only way for you to survive. Korea pays well ????

Are you really suggesting that he walks away and does nothing?

If he has done nothing wrong and is completely innocent he has a duty to himself and every other teacher working any where in the world to defend his position.

Where ever he goes to find work this will follow him unless it is quashed immediately and expunged from any and all records, more and more countries are turning to police records kept across the world about the behaviour of teachers and walking away is turning innocence into full on guilt.

I suggest that if he is genuinely innocent and can prove it he must fight it, Foreigner or not, Thailand or not, we have rights.

Defamation is a criminal offence in Thailand and it must not be seen to be one sided

It was really just the first Google result, I don't rate WHO at all and agree that they were fully complicit in China's cover-up. Anyway, here it is from Public Health England, maybe that'll do it for you -

    image.png.ebeb6fa16ee7038ea534c2b8fd399848.png

    Info_sheetI_Symptoms_COVID19_1.0 (england.nhs.uk)

    More fake news, I guess.

That information was first published in March 2020 before the full severity was known, since then schools are closed shops,Gyms, and all other areas where mass people congregate including family homes are closed to more than two people, All ages from new born babies through children, adults and the elderly are being treated in hospital for severe Covid 19 infection.

Almost 63,000 new infections and 1,028 deaths yesterday, this is not people who have died from heart attacks or some other natural cause, these are people who have died within 28 days of a positive Covid test.

You have used old out dated information to further your cause, information that was published at the same time that public health said Covid did not affect the young, all of which has been proven incorrect.

As far as I am concerned you are a lost cause and I give up on you but in doing so I ask one thing from you, millions across the world have been affected by Covid and as yet no one knows what long term effect this will have on the health of nations, likewise we will never know the true death rate because to many governments like China do not want to be truthful so I ask you just to spare a thought for all of those people, and I will genuinely hope that you will never experience any aspect of this minor ailment.

Further dialogue with you is ended

said it's a minor ailment for most people. This is what the World Health Organisation say:

Ah now I see where you are getting your information from, The World Health Organisation the very organisation who in February 2020 and maintained it through March and into April when people had started to die in large numbers and China in a panic built 7 brand new fully equipped hospitals in around 7 days said there was no need to panic as there was no pandemic only a flu outbreak

Why did they do that ? Well China was and is the biggest contributor to the wealth of said organisation so why do you think they said it?

It is time for you to open your particular book of fake news on a new page because you certainly should not be espousing it on this one.

But before you go you should suck on this! Today we have

62,000 new infections in one day

1028 good people have died in the last 24 hours

And just so you know all about this MINOR AILMENT

We, as of today have 30,000 very sick people in hospitals across the U.K. struggling to get a breath.

All because of in your words a Mild Ailment

If you don't like hearing it from me, you can find plenty of sources acknowledging it as a mild disease in the majority of cases. I'm sorry if you're in one of the 'at-risk' categories, but that has no bearing on the facts.

If you spoke the truth I would have no problem hearing from you but the facts are that this is not a mild disease far from it, almost a thousand people died in the U.K. yesterday in one day, and you think it is a mild disease??

Minor Ailment !!!  Where have you been living?

Given up to a third are asymptomatic and the rate of hospitalization is a couple of percent for under 50s, I stand by it being a "a minor ailment to most".

Where do you get your stupid information from?

The CDC and Office for National Statistics.

I stand by all  that I said to you and add this, Turn the page you read from the right way up and read from left to right and you just might see that your assumptions are rubbish

Mr Prayut, this is not something to be proud of. Listen to your experts in the CCSA, for goodness sake. Get your finger out and fix it!

He can not FIX it, only time and good medical expertise can do that, but he better get a move on and put a lot of money in place to treat the infected properly.

Covid is getting out of hand and many will die but many can also be saved with the right political will.

The time is ripe for serious action not lip service.

The Thai population are mostly uneducated to any real standard and have no idea of how a virus works so serious long term sickness otherwise known as Long Covid and thousands dead is a very real prospect.

I genuinely wish you well mr Prime minister but you must act NOW

  8. 14 hours ago, ewingjm said:

However, that won't be an issue given that it's a minor ailment to most.

Minor Ailment !!!  Where have you been living? Where do you get your stupid information from?

This MINOR AILMENT causes extreme difficulty breathing, and eventually all major organs to fail resulting in death,  if you want to know what that is like stick your head in a poly bag and see how long you can stand it before you rip it off, sadly those infected with Covid do not get the chance to just rip it off and breathe freely again.

Whilst a great many of those that have died have been above 80 years old there has been a great many across the age range from 2 to 40 with no underlying health issues, who have succumbed, and many more youngsters are now getting it.

One of the major problems has been that from the outset the young were told it did not effect them and they have grabbed that info believing that they can continue partying but they have been Asymptomatic and gone on to infect  those around them including family members.

You have done a serious injustice to all of those poor soles across the world who have had there lives cut short by this horrible Chinese disease and you should be ashamed of yourself for such a flippant remark.

You obviously did not see the footage of people dieting in the streets because of untreated Covid 19 infections in countries that do not have the kind of health organisation that we have in the U.K. but this infection is coming to Thailand and increasing every day and unless the government gets a grip on it immediately and stops paying lip service you may just begin to see it.

    MINOR AILMENT indeed

Someone explain to me the thinking behind comparing Covid deaths and road accident deaths.

The deaths are the result of two entirely different reasons.

But the end result is the same, people die, so why bother to go to the expense of buying a vaccine and sticking it into the arms of the people when the people are killing themselves in droves through very low driving standards anyway.

The end result is people die and in the case of Thailand if the government does nothing about road kill and then blames every death on it  Thailand will enter the Guinness book of records as the only country in the world with a zero Covid death rate. Clever init

  10. These are the stats as we know them plus one as yet to be confirmed as something other than internet info and left entirely up to the reader to decide what he/she wishes to believe.
Pfizer-BioNteck vaccine made in and shipped from Belgium and India 95% effective but has to be kept at  -70C

Oxford Astra - Zeneca vaccine made in and shipped from England 96% effective and can be kept at normal fridge temperature.

Russian “ Sputnik vaccine ( surprised they did’nt call it Putin ) made in and shipped from Russia 75% effective, best kept in Russia as little or no testing

Chinese Sinovac coronavac vaccine made in China ( just like all the other cheap low quality Chinese products ) 79% effective best kept anywhere as long as it’s not in your arm, rumoured to cause a two headed side effect.

As far as the U.K. is concerned the OA-Z vaccine will be rolled out on January 4 with up to 50,000,000 innoculations completed by April 2021 ‘ hopefully’

and have a new mutant highly infectious strain that is now making itself around the world because of people traveling.

Where is your evidence for that statement? Most of the new variant infections have been proven to have NO travel history the latest being a 41 year old American who has never travelled outside his home area.

On top of that the new variant was first DISCOVERED in the U.K. there is NO proof that it first mutated in the U.K.

The mutation was discovered in two South African who came to the U.K. and became sick testing positive, and our professionals discovered it because we are right on top of testing and WE shared the info with the rest of the world.

Some of you will now say this is a contradiction given my opening statement but if you read it properly you will see that I said MOST and that is the truth in so far as the hourly updates and daily government ministers and scientific assessments and reporting we get here in the U.K tell us

The evidence is that all of the new variant testing shows the variant to be very slightly different in every country pointing to the COVID virus mutating in different ways around the world, however this has yet to be fully proven.

The new variants are much more contagious BUT appears to be LESS powerful as the daily death rate up to now is lower in the U.K. but only time will tell on this matter, but it could be as a result of herd immunity.

Immunisation is definitely the way to go and the new Oxford - Astra Zeneca  vaccine COULD mean that we will be free of Covid by late Spring IF we all take it.

The O-AZ vaccine immunisation starts here on January 4 and 50,000,000 people are expected to receive it as quickly as possible, and it is now up to the rest of the world including Thailand to pull it’s finger out and get it done

Tourists, locals akll love local street food - yet authorities seem to want to see chain restaura#nts like Burger King.

The authorities do not want street food vendors because they are not taxable whereas chains are , so the government in it’s infinite wisdom Lol exact forced closures of probably one of the biggest attractions ( we all know the main one ) for tourists and expats alike who live in and travel to Thailand for the sake of ASIAN taxation so that politicals have large amounts of money to waste on jollies just like the EU in the west.

Good bye to culture, hello to junk food, higher prices and taxation.

If you ever went to Portugal before they entered the EU and had Frango piri piri and you go back now to a fried slab of chicken breast in a dried up paste costing 5 times as much you will know exactly what I mean.

  13. I have a motorbike and car licence 2 year tourist which ran out last February, was going to renew on my usual return in the same month but of course COVID closed the borders and I have been unable to return, so can anyone advise me on the ability to renew when I can return, without going through testing if possible.

I am 74 now and in complete control of my faculties

    Thanks in advance

I think by age 86 if I'm still around I'd be hanging up my traveling shoes and giving my suitcase to St. Vinnies.????

Why will you be so happy to give up on life?

We only have one life and if  a person is in good relative health then the very last thing one should be thinking of giving up is travel.

We are forced sadly by extenuating circumstances to give up on many things we enjoyed doing but that does not mean we should stop trying.

You, as I, I am sure, have seen many paraplegic people in Thailand who have travelled with unbelievable difficulty from there home countries to Thailand and around the world to enjoy the culture and any thing else they are able to participate in, Do they give up! No they just get on with it, taking help where they can and doing for themselves when no help is available and I admire them immensely.

I am 74 now and thankfully in good health, not on any medication and fully functional I have worked hard to take care of myself in the sure and certain knowledge that one day I will be old but fully prepared to fight to give up on as few of the things I enjoy as is possible,

Only 3 things stand in my way, Continuing to attract the opposite sex, Travel insurance, and Death, only one of those is insurmountable, but I will stretch it out.

Thailand hasn’t ordered any of the Pfizer vaccine which is not suitable for tropical third world countries anyway as it has to be stored in freezers. I doubt they have ordered any of the others either,

    Thailand does’nt have freezers??

Last I heard they had ordered 30,000,000 doses from the U.K. are you saying they have changed their minds?

There is of course the Chinese vaccine proven not to work but they can come and go at will it seems.

I wonder if Chinese tourists will be exempt from wearing these tracking devices?

All of the Chinese have spying tec imbedded in their telephones and like the location switch it can not be turned off so my guess is the Thai government will just tap into that, but they know we still have for now the freedom of choice and it p.....ses them off hence the wrist band.

We all had better hope that we get a new one and not get a dirty bug ridden used one that they deem is good enough for us.
