Air Asia X said last december they are thinking about flying a333s from DMK to Paris and London, they have several more a333s on order and have ordered the new a350 also

There are monopolies on KL to Auckland and BKK to Auckland by MAS and Thai airways, id like to see one of those routes shaken up by AAX

    Also Bangkok to Sydney

Bangkok to Sydney is operated by 3 different airlines at the moment (used to be 4 before British Airways pulled out of the route, only flying London-Bangkok return and Qantas similarly is now only doing Sydney-Bangkok return rather than continuing onto London).

AIR ASIA tried the EU market already in the past, but it did not work out, at least not from Kuala Lumpur.

So maybe a new try from DMK?  We see. rolleyes.gif

Bangkok to sydney i meant only has full service flights, afaik

Air Asia X did do Europe from KL but they were using A340 gas guzzlers, combined with Europe's high taxes they could not make the routes viable

They have a record a330er order at the moment including 10x A350-900s on order, and they have a massive brand new airport at KL that they have pretty much to themselves, so plenty of potential and ambition

If they do end up going back to Europe i reckon it would be a350 from KL and a330 extended range versions from Bangkok using their Thai AAX sub

  2. I Can't quite see what difference it really makes to which airport They fly to and from in Bangkok.Don Mueang airport is connected by shuttle bus or the main railway station so it doesn't make a lot of difference.I (myself) am most certainly " not in a rush " It must be noted that flights to Chiang Mai will need to be very cheap to try and compete with Thai Lion Air - I flew a few months back at just 600 baht ( inc 15 KG of free luggage ) I thought that price was " rather reasonable " wouldn't you agree viewers..? coffee1.gif

Yeah went with lion air CNX to DMK return on the same day, booked the tickets 12 hours before the 1st flight for 3000 return which is pretty good, Air Asia was 3800

AA is great if you can book months in advance and travel light, you can get KL to Sydney for 3200baht/$108aud next april if you book now, thats an 8 hour international flight flying into an airport that has pretty high taxes.. for $108 :D

  3. Wonder how long the curfew delayed them

I know Emirates have disobeyed the curfew a few times landing A380s in Sydney when they were running late, they must think to themselves "$500k fine vs landing elsewhere, paying for hotels, meals and extra flights for 450 people plus pissing them all off...   yeah screw it, lets just land at Sydney"

going to go pick up my laundry. its nearly midnight so i should be safe, have to walk pass her establishment to get to it

You got a work permit (for that)?

My wallet is loaded with them, alongside all the violet coloured thai driver licenses

So when i finally did go get my laundry at the communal area, 12 hours after i put it there, all my stuff was switched to the other washing machine

Wonder whats next in store for this lazy farang

  5. Im a Thailand newbie but is this normal behaviour?

had a few bags of garbage inside my gated property, was too lazy to put them out when i went out for dinner tonight, came back and they were all neatly lined up out the front beside the road.

Also caught her this morning opening my mailbox but i didnt make any fuss, language barrier prevented anything further.
And if i neglect to shut my gate, sometimes i come out and find it shut

Whats next? I find dinner cooked and ready one day when i return? :)

  6. Your still invisible if your riding a bicycle, tested the cops at the Central Airport Plaza intersection today while crossing way over the front line and pulling up a few meters from 2 officers with their shiny samsungs out taking pics of traffic

  8.  I just found Thaivisa and Very interesting post.

This is my second visit to Thailand and my girlfend's village

On the way from Udon Thani airport, I have noticed many new homes. When i asked my gf, she told me falangs buit it. In here village German, American, Swiss, Irish and Australian built homes and they are gone too. One of the girls in the village have a third foreigner boyfiend and one is just comming once a year to see his son.

Now, I am thinking. Should I retire early or just keep working and stay in my county and forget Thailand

Just dont be a chump like the rest of them
