    No one???

Are you asking about an international flight from abroad to Bangkok?

Even without rechecking, RT-PCR is still the only accepted test in this case.

That's what I thought. I wonder why Bangkok Airways would tell me that an Antigen test would be fine to enter Bangkok from the U.S.

  2. I just got an email from Bangkok Airways about a question that I had asked them a couple of weeks ago pertaining to Covid testing with the Samui Plus program and possibly missing my flight to Koh Samui waiting for the results from my test. The email stated that I would have to get a RT-PCR test or a Rapid Antigen test 72 hours before my flight to Bangkok. From what I understand the only test that they are accepting is the RT- PCR test and they won't accept the Rapid Antigen test. Does anyone out there have any info on whether they are accepting the Rapid Antigen test?

  3. I know that you have to test 72 hrs before your flight. The question I have is how did the people that have arrived in Thailand do there testing. I'm in the U.S. and the only way that I can get a rapid test with results in time is to pay $150 out of pocket. If I go to Walgreens or CVS I will have to wait 2 to 3 days to get my results. How did you guys do it?

Unless you are talking about Laptops/phones or most other electronic devices which do not need any conversion (as they are designed to operate globally)

Sorry! I guess I should have said that I'm coming from the U.S. I'm just concerned about charging my cell phone and Chrome Book.

Right, but is it not true that since some time in July you could transit to Samui from BKK via the bubble and seal protocol of the Sandbox at a designated arrival gate?

He may have done a " sealed flight". I'm not sure. He still got tested at the airport and only took 4 hrs to get his test results irregardless whether he had a sealed flight or not. I don't see where the amount of time to get test results back should matter. You would think that someone that comes into the airport with a connecting flight later that day would be given priority over someone that does not have another flight to catch.

You misunderstand the Test and Go program. It is based on the ASQ model. You must travel to the designated Hotel by pre arranged SHA+ transportation. You will be swabbed at the Hotel by Nurses assigned by the participating Hospital associated with the Hotel. You have to wait for the results at th Hotel.

No way to do this in 6 hours, time to change your air tickets

I know for a fact that Chris Parker( ReTHAIred Working For You) arrived in Bangkok about 3 weeks ago on his way to Koh Samui. He tested at the airport and got his results back in 4hrs.

  7. I know that this is the first day of the new "test and go" but has anyone out there used it yet? I'm real curious about what kind of wait time there is for the Covid testing results. They are telling people that they will have to book one day to wait for results before they can go to there destination. I have a flight arriving on 12/01/2021 at Suvarnabhumi Airport with a connecting flight on Bangkok Airways to Koh Samui with a 6hr layover between flights. I'm hoping that the 6hrs will be enough for me to get my test results.

  8. I heard online that the Thai government is going to extend the Special Tourist Visa for another year. Has anyone out there heard any specifics yet on how they will implement this extension? At this time the only thing that I can find is info on the old STV. The old version was based on the 14 day quarantine. I would hope that they change that requirement at least.

  9. Looking at possibly getting a retirement visa. Instead of getting the O-A visa here in the U.S. I would rather get a 60 tourist visa then if I'm sure I want to stay long term go ahead and apply for the non immigrant in Thailand. I have two questions. If I get the Tourist visa when will my 60 days start? Will it start as soon as it's issued or do I have some time before it begins? The second question is about the O visa application. I know that with the O-A you need either 800,000 THB in a Thai bank OR 65,000 monthly income but everything that I have seen about the O visa has stated only the 800,000 THB in a thai bank. I haven't seen anything about 65,000 monthly income with the O visa. Can I do the 65,000 THB monthly with the O visa?

  10. I'm planning a 2 month vacation to Thailand next year. I could use some help on deciding which islands would be the best to visit. I was planning on spending one month on Koh Samui then split up the second month on Koh Phangan and Koh Tao. I figure one month on Koh Samui won't be a problem ( possible boredom ) but I'm not sure about Koh Phangan or Koh Tao. I would appreciate any insight from folks that have visited these islands and whether or not this would be the best way to spend my time.

  11. Thanks for the advice. I thought about getting my SETV in Mexico but I'm hoping that I don't have a problem getting it in another country. I have heard where some countries make it difficult for foreigners to get visas to other countries. Does this mean I will have to go to Mexico City to get my Thai Visa. I think thats the only consulate or embassy in Mexico.

  12. I am planning on spending 3 months in Mexico then flying to Thailand for at least 3 months. I'm trying to figure out the best visa and how to get it. I thought about getting a SETV before I leave for Mexico but I see that the SETV has be used within 90 days. Should I just use my VOA then apply for a visa when I get to Thailand? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  13. I noticed that a couple of people on this thread thought that it would be a good idea to be a little more specific ( I'm new at this forum thing). Maybe for me Phuket or Koh Samui are not the right places. I am a retired 60 year old single guy. I am planning on staying for at least 6 months maybe longer. I would like access to bars and beach but would also like to find a rental that is in a quieter area ( can I get both?). I would like either a studio or one bedroom apt. Even a small house or maybe a bungalow would work. I would like my rental cost to be somewhere between 10,000 to 25,000 baht per month.

  14. I'm sure this question has come up in the past. Coming to Thailand next year for a long term visit. Not sure if I want to stay in Koh Samui or Phuket. My biggest concern is the price on rentals. Is there a big difference in rental prices between the two locations or are they about the same? Can I live in either location for about the same price each month or will one be more exspensive than the other. All help would be greatly appreciated.
