In my home country, they have professional collectors who are paid a commission.
Yes, I see NZ high up on the list, but wonder how much actually makes it to the cause being supported
Tourist areas, particularly Auckland, saturated with professional fundraisers from UK and USA.
"Chuggers'' charity muggers. Charity marketer Cornucopia Consultancy offers to pay $1500 for return flights for people to work as collectors at intersections and footbridges in Auckland and other major cities.
The commissions they and their agencies take is very high. Sign up for eg monthly contributions to Greenpeace, the collector gets your first year's donations as commission
The Appco Group's own documents contain a pricing schedule of charges for collecting door-to-door for its charity clients, including WWF and Barnardo's. It shows that if donors agree to pay $20 a month, APPCO takes 100 per cent in the first year - all $240.
APPCO's "tiered fee model" earns it a lower percentage for higher donations: when donors sign up to give $30 a month, it keeps $306 (85 per cent) of the first year's $360; at the $60-a-month level, it keeps $504 (70 per cent) of the $720 donated

Backpackers and tourists from Britain, Europe and America are even being offered free flights to New Zealand to work as "face-to-face" collectors - known in Australia as "chuggers" or "charity muggers".

I am due to fly to New Zealand next Tuesday.
It must be so dangerous, note they've removed it from the map completely, for safety reasons i guess.

Another 10km of marked 'shared' cycle lane recently added to the Chanthaburi coast cycle lane network
This section between Tha Mai and Khlong Khud is well-used, being the main route from Chan city to Chao Lao and Khung Wiman beaches
Beware ? I think 'caution' may have been a better word
Burapha Chanthaburi University is at Khlong Khud, and I often see (get overtaken by!) their cycling groups

This is a good friend of ours
Chemo and heart surgery since 2008, six weeks in Brisbane hospital this year July August, and headed back to Phuket to the Vegetarian Festival last month, an event he'd enjoyed each year. Last year, somehow he was serving noodles each night, Thai with a Queensland twang
We met at Thai language lessons 2009, common interests in surflifesaving, swimming. Spare time spent time sea kayaking off Nai Harn, snorkeling, swimming, boat trips and bus trips with me and my partner. A cup of tea in the company of the latest adopted soi dog, another travel plan, 'let's kayak around Phuket', always fun
Never gave up. Outlived every doctor's expectation.
Not many years back, birthday theme was 50 not out
My partner refers to him as 'crazy' in a good way, needed 'one more adventure'. Last Xmas, back to NZ to visit his parents, his goal was to make it to Anzac Day, and attend the ceremony at Kanchanaburi. He got there, paid his respects to a relative there . After that, cut short a trip to Myanmar, health, back to Brisbane for 6 weeks hospital, chemo and surgery. made it back to Phuket for vege fest, last email received was on Friday, about going to see Cirq du Soleil show in Singapore on the 13th before heading back to family in Oz, and intending to be back in NZ in February
This has not been easy to write
Genuinely one of the good guys
RIP and forever remembered, we'll miss you

Pulau Ketam “Crab Island” is a small island located off the coast of Port Klang. The island is easily accessible from Kuala Lumpur, about 1hr 10min by train, then ferry from Port Klang jetty 30 minutes.
There are no roads, no cars or motorbikes; all the houses are built on stilts and access is by raised walkways above the swamp/mangroves. About 7000 people live there, mostly Chinese - the website says there are only about 50 Malaysians.

Fortunate to be invited into the grounds of the Tak Sin Army Camp in Chanthaburi, an area not available to the public.
This building currently under restoration dates from the year 1900 and was built by the French Army who occupied Chanthaburi province 1893-1906; it is one of seven French buildings on the site, and the last one to be restored.

She is indeed doing well, 15+years in the workforce and working her way up to an Admin Ass position
What did she do to deserve you?
As per above poster, impressed at the frugality of living on 4-8000 baht a month. That's impressive when living expenses, clothes, entertainment, transport are factored in. Elements of bs in this one.
The Adecco stats, well take them how you will. I currently have some involvement with them on a 3mth project in NZ and have worked with them often last 20 years. Their report is a marketing tool to attract potential clients, not uncommon in global recruitment
My partner is an accountant; earns less than she did in Bangkok, but there's more to life. What Adecco et al don't report on is variances through the regions. They'll report on their better Bangkok roles, significantly different to what the same role will pay in most provincial areas, but then there's quality of life to factor in, and overall lifestyle
