Thanks to you both. I am not particularly interested in anything special it's mostly for my wife. However she gets most of the TV programms off of YouTube. Anyway thanks again.. By the way my wife & I are English.

Has anyone bought a TV- Top box from Lazada or anywhere in Chiangmai. I see them on Lazada but have no idea if they run Thai only or English programs too. Any info' would be gratefully received, thank you in anticipation.
  3. Most banks do not like Air Asia, we had a monetary problem last years with them trying to get money back. As you say unfortunately they have some monopoly but I wouldn't wish to use them again..
  4. Never going to get your 20 million because majority of Thais supported Thaksin.....& will do again I am sure (Red Shirts).
  5. Not always twice we required assistance Nok Air & Air Asia, Nok Air superb Air Asia another story. Western Airports do provide this service free. I must say when we have had guys assist in Thailand their personal service has been exceptional.
  6. Last year we flew Air Asia to Penang my wife needed a wheelchair I paid 300 baht for this , on arrival no wheelchair dropped out on the tarmac. Eventually wheelchair arrived but no one to push her I was told that I looked fit enough so push it. They offered my money back & it took 12 months with so much pressure obviously 300 baht is neither here nor there but the ordacity of this company shows that they couldn't care less for your wellbeing.
  7. Nuts.....nothing more to be said it's been covered by all !!!!!
  8. I have just completed this however I and my wife are British, so I don't know if it is the same for you both. All that was needed was our marriage certificate had to be authenticated at the British home office UK then sent to Thai Embassy London for Certification. Both enter Thailand on a 90 day Non O visa with 800,000 in the bank. I suppose your wife needs the Non O to qualify. We are in Chiangmai.
  9. What do most of you understand or know about Thaksin Shinawattra, he did a lot of good for the poor people in this Country.
  10. Firstly, let me make you all aware that the Embassy application was wrong I have 2 x 90 day multi entry Visas approved with a Bank statement showing GBP10,000 so my original understanding of this visa requirements was correct. I cannot stay permanently in Thailand because I have a cancer which needs constant monitoring otherwise, we would have done this years ago. As for age it's going to come to you all best of luck..
  11. For all of you smart arses read the following from London Thai Embassy yesterday reference Non "O" single/ 1 year multi 90 day Visa: 5. Financial evidence e.g. A copy of a pension statement (more than £200/week) if the applicant is a pensioner and a copy of a 3-month bank statement showing your income from pension, or a 3-month bank statement of at least £10,000. Online appliocation does not quote this!!! Furthermore: 8. Health Insurance issued by the insurer with the outpatient benefit of not less than 40,000 THB and inpatient benefit of not less than 400,000 THB or Financial evidence (A copy of pension statement of no less than 800 GBP/month and a copy of a 3-month bank statement showing your income from pension, or 3-month bank statement of at least 10,000 GBP). Half of you making stupid comments wern't born whenwe first stayed long term in Thailand - Chiang Mai.
  12. A man who undrstands & 15 years ago when I bought these visas complicated were not in force.

  14. It looks as if they have once again changed the requirements for the Non "O" single/multi entry 90 day over 50's visa. I started an application a couple of weeks ago & the only requirement I had to complete was insurance for the multi entry. I went to complete it yesterday & submit & find that the insurance requirement has been removed but they now require 65,000 baht per month or 800,000in a bank not stipulating whether it be Thai bank. Are you kidding me this is a temporary long term stay not a retirement stamp requisit. Any info' on this would be helpful if there is any....my situation is this - my wife & I have a condo in Chiang Mai we usually spend 5/6 months winter here not full time why would anyone want to comply with these financial requirements. If we take the 6 months multi tourist visa we will need to exit twice which I feel as a property owner is too much. I know of so many people who used to come to Thailand for Winter stays & for one reason & another do not come now do the Thais no longer want Westerners?
  15. Thanks ..
