  1. Thanks for replies had a more extensive look on google and somone suggested warming it up,played gfriends hairdryer on it for a while and bingo! managed to coax a bit more life out of batterys.problem solved.memo to self change batterys yearly.

Change your memo to: Must get a new key.

I used the same alkaline batteries in a small safe for nearly years and used it often and it is still going strong. Doesn't your safe give you a warning when batteries are flat?

I found spare key inside!there is an indicator light i haddent noticed, fully understand now. was in carrefor yesterday and larger digital safes 15.5 litre where on offer for 444 bht picked up one for spare bedroom, chinese made but how can they sell so cheap?

  2. Hi, I have a small digital safe made by a co called Sure and the batterys have gone flat,I have mislaid the master key but have its number.tried local key shops for a copy key some want to sell me a new lock with key,but I have to open it first in order to fit it! Anybody solved a similar problem? before I get the angle grinder out!

  3. Hi, anybody used the courier service of vfs recently? we paid 500 bht extra for it, how many days did it take from getting sms to say visa processed to delivery in pattaya, wishing we had gone to pick it up personally now as I am running out of time with my prebooked flights and also reluctant to book seat on same flight for gf untill sight of v visa, even though she,has been granted 2 v visas the last two years

  4. Tachometer is any device used to measure speed of anything - rpm, kph etc.In the EU they are fitted to commercial vehicles to record such information as the speed of the vehicle and the hours driven by any particular driver. Now with digital technology they could be used like a black box to record just about anything you want.

In some countries you can be prosecuted for speeding on the evidence of these.

THey have certainly contributed to reducing the continuous hours of driving over any period of time by any one driver and thus reduced the likelihood of drivers falling asleep or impaired by drugs hours.

however As I have repeatedly said none of this is worth a flying fuc_k without proper traffic engineering.

It seems to be a sad reflection on many of the contributors to threads on driving in Thailand that they apparently have absolutely no knowledge of this science, and in fact don't even know of its existence. This is of course partly due to the surreptitious nature of the way it works.

The result is that most drivers are completely unaware of how sophisticated the road and traffic design is in their homeland and put the lack of accidents down to their own personal prowess or the short-comings of other motorists - neither of which is particularly likely or true.

PS - OF COURSE seat belts would have made a difference!Anyone who doesn't understand that just doesn't understand the absolute rudimentary aspects of what happens in an incident or collision.

I think a tachograph is what you were initialy talking about it records time, distance and speed.A tachometer is a rev counter

  6. Make life easy and just go to TT Moneychangers on 2nd Road near the Pattaya Tai intersection. They are bright yellow on left and right of 2nd Road about 100 meters past the intersection.

They'll beat any other moneychangers' rates everyday. They're also a very convenient place to buy any foreign currency you want. There's no need to sign anything. They'll hand and machine count the money in front of you. Best service by a mile. Never a sour face or attitude and they appreciate your business.

Never beat the Chinaman on 3rd road

whereabouts chinaman on 3rd road please? I have found bank gold rungland not to good over the last few months

  8. Hi folks, looking for a low cost set of wheels that tilac can master.I rather fancy a vw vento auto with lpg conversion.whats the spare parts situation like in thailand I am pattaya based? Is anyone else running one?I heared someone say they can convert to toyota engine?I know its a golf in uk but know FA about.any input appreciated!

  9. Pity you just shot yourselves in the foot recently, by dropping your baggage allowance to 23kgs for coral frequent flier class.Emirates and Qatar both allow 30kgs so expats like myself will be voting with our feet!

Not sure where you got your info from. As an Etihad FF silver member (LHR-BKK twice per year) I get 33KG in economy:

    http://www.etihadairways.com/sites/Etihad/uk/en/planatrip/baggage/Pages/allowances-and-charges-other.aspx

Coral class same as basic frequent flier,as I only fly once a year now my silver status has elapsed 23 kilos is the coral class allowance + 7 kg hand baggage. Emirates offering cheaper flights fom man uk and 30 kg allowance, flying Etihad is a no brainer!

  10. Once it is set up, nothing could be easier than direct debit. You don't even have to look at your bills, just make sure your bank account is funded. I put money in it once a year.

I seem to recall my electric had to be set up with bangkok bank and water with the tmb bank,so two seperate accounts needed
  11. Anybody flown Etihad from Manchester lately? the checkin staff used to allow 30kg coral class although it said 20kg on your ticket. Had an email from Etihad recently stating 23kg max for coral and talking about charges for taking more,Just wondering about enforcement before booking next flight.Qatar and Emirates both allow 30kg with a freqent flier card

  12. We bought a bike late janruary and have been down to threppasit the last two weeks to pick up the change of ownership papers and no sign of auction, although the signs are still there .The girlfrend gets a phone call this week from auction co saying they will post documents to my house as auction is not on anymore

  13. My house has a marley type tile roof and is suffering from 2 water leaks that appear to be coming in at the apex of the roof ( been up in the loft when it was raining and spotted where it was dripping) The inside of roof has been sprayed with foam by the previous owner can anyone reccomend anyone to fix? as opposed to me taking pot luck getting someone to repair, need to get it sorted before the rains come .

  14. can anyone answer the question?
