  1. Thanks for the input. Interestingly, and maybe it's accounting for a load, the book & door say 29 front/41 rear. The 225's, which I don't have says 54 rear. Seams pretty high in the rear without a load. I've been running 32 in the rear.

That said, I still need tires & shocks. Tires are of age & shocks have showed signs of leaking some time ago. Last rotation I had an alignment done & everything checked out mechanically.

I'll do some more research on the shocks, but probably go with OEM as Liverpool Lou said.

I was hoping someone might have had a Wow moment with some brand of truck tires here. I've had those impressed moments with certain motorcycle tires, and no doubt, some disappointments also.

Couldn't find anything through the search here, but found this & more searching internet.

I'll add, driving my wife's new car & riding my new bike most likely made me more sensitive to all this.

    Thanks again!

  2. I have an older (2008) Isuzu 4x4 with low mileage I would like to keep. Don't use it often but when I do, the ride is horrible.

Can anyone recommend tires (245/70R16) that are soft enough for gripping the roads (dirty or wet)? I don't care if they wear fast as long as they improve the ride & hold to the road for safety.

Also shocks. The local auto parts store sell them cheap, but I can't get a good answer on quality shocks that keep the wheels on the road in all conditions while improving the comfort of the ride.

Appreciate any experience & advise on this!

  3. Greetings,

Is there a reasonable phone plan in the US that will allow you to receive your banks otp text. I know there's voip internet numbers but they're hit and miss, totally unreliable. I believe you need something with international roaming; however, I have no need for calls. One or two texts a month at best to confirm a wire transfer.

    Thanks!

I have been visiting prisons here for many years, and while I take on board the comments above about helping kids etc, I point out that around half of the people I have visited were not there because they did anything wrong. Some simply upset the wrong person (often the gf or wife), and others just in the wrong place at the wrong time. Regardless, the sentences dished out for often minor offences are extreme, conditions are disgraceful and helping your fellow man in a time of need is a wonderful thing to do.

r136dg feel free to PM me and I will see how I can steer you in the right direction. It is tough right now as visits are not allowed due to the covid scare, though this will hopefully change soon.

    PM'd  Thanks!

  5. I was instructed to report to immigration today to get my extension stamp. Upon arrival I was told there's nothing there for me and to wait for a call from them. They had no idea if it would be hours, days or ........

If it's relevant, this is my second marriage extension, my visa started as retirement, I present myself respectfully and paperwork always organized for them. Always thought I had good repor there so my wife & I are a bit confused, worried and PO'd. They had 5 weeks!

The paranoid side of me says go back, get some kind of an emergency extension & work on a flight out before ending up on overstay. Please advise if this sounds like the reasonable action or another more reasonable route.

    Thanks in advance!

  6. I noticed foreign investers pouring in starting a week ago Friday and I've been totally baffled why. The only events at the time were the US's ambasadors support speech and a trillion baht ready to hit the press. It's the only motivation I could see, but not nearly enough to nudge me in. Just my opinion, but I see these markets way over inflated and debt seems to be the new gold.

If the neighbour is complaining about a bad smell coming from the OP`s apartment and goes to all the trouble to send a security guard to investigate, then there must be some fact in the allegations. Maybe the neighbour is ringing the OP`s bell wanting to discuss the problem otherwise the neighbour`s actions and attitude doesn`t make sense.

In cases of neighbour disputes it`s always best to discuss the problem rather than trying to ignore it and hoping the person will go away. This is what it sounds like to me.

X2! Swallow some pride & make peace. The other options will most likely lead to more conflict.

  8. I know plenty of social drinkers that can have 1 or 2 drinks throughout a dinner or whatever & leave it at that. I can't so I just don't drink. Took me a while to figure that out though;-)

If the message spreads throughout the villages how much the jail time & fines suck, it can only make the roads safer. Now apply this to the ultra reckless drivers here & we may be on to something!

  9. I don't know about taking the license, but; I have to say that's a step in the right direction for the cops to cite people for operating vehicles that are not safe. You have to admit, it's almost impossible to not know you have a headlight out. Tail light maybe, but still, those things should be inspected now & than. If the cops start penalizing people for these things it's incentive to keep your vehicle safe & others safe that are sharing the road with you.

    Kudos to the cop!

  10. Thankyou all for the responses. Some learning curves here, no doubt. From my research so far I believe a continuous drive motor is more important than HP & an electronic incline of 12-15% would be a must. Of course when you get into units with these features it looks like price tags start around 70,000+ and of course they have all the electronic crap I'd rather not have.

There's only a Big C near me & those units are junk, but I'll venture into Chiang Mai (as suggested with running shoes) to check out a couple sporting goods stores there.

If I come across anything extraordinary I'll post experience/purchase.

    Thanks!

Ketosis, fasting, plant based whole foods diet, ect., all that's good stuff; but, I'm simply after the legs workout with cardio, not weight loss;-)

  11. I'm looking for a treadmill without fancy bells & whistles (phone apps, pulse alarms, speakers, usb ports, ect), will incline and hold up for jogging on that incline (I'm under 100Kgs). I've been looking at Lazada and really don't know how to differentiate between junk & a solid unit, and would rather not spend more than 25,000 if possible.

What's the minimum HP motor you'd want? Are manual inclines ok? It's confusing because many of them have zero warranty, or maybe 1 or 2 week warranties. Few seem to have a 1 year warranty. The reviews on Lazada are worthless & can't find any reviews on those models outside Lazada.

I would really appreciate hearing anyone's experience with treadmills off Lazada, or any other recommendations.

    Thanks in advance!

  12. This whole thing always gets under my skin;

Moving, cutting grass, repairing/maintenance on your vehicles (by the way, I caught a guy at an auto repair shop putting on a used oil filter during an oil change), changing lights, planting a tree, repairing a leaking pipe, things that require immediate action (glowing wire in a breaker panel), ect..................................................

Makes just about all of us guilty.
