  1. It's seems to be much the same as in Vietnam:

"Relationship with Lao citizens: Lao law prohibits sexual contact between foreign citizens and Lao nationals except when the two parties have been married in accordance with Lao Family Law. Any foreigner who enters into a sexual relationship with a Lao national risks being interrogated, detained, arrested, or fined. Lao police have confiscated passports and imposed fines of up to $5,000 on foreigners who enter into unapproved sexual relationships. The Lao party to the relationship may be jailed without trial. Foreigners are not permitted to invite Lao nationals of the opposite sex to their hotel rooms; police may raid hotel rooms without notice or consent."

  3. and that asean free trade or free something agreement kicks in next year.

obviously not worth the paper it is written on.

if sing is going to preempt with this, all the others are going to protect their cronies and money spinners similarly too. the asian way wont die just because of some high falutin treaty.

  4. dont believe a word this cretin says ...HE is the one who sanctioned all the 200,000+ to be allowed into the US and be given a bus ticket to ANY city they like after health screening at the border....next step yhe UN will be sent into the US border areas to monitor ...the US is coming to a huge cross roads

when you are staring bankruptcy in the face anything can happen. not too much oil left that hasnt been stolen already

  5. it has nothing to do with terrorism but everything to do with preserving the extortionate fees financial institution charge for international money transferring.

example, say you have oz dollars and a oz internet banking account you could quite easily pay money into the say bangkok banks oz dollar account in oz for free via internet banking, then have the bkk bank credit your local thai thai baht account at the current daily rate, cost could be absolutely minimal. will it happen? not on your nelly.

  6. You might also want to consider taking a look at the InvadeIT web site. http://www.invadeit.co.th/

From reading this thread I am at a loss as to what it is exactly you are looking for. If all you want is a new PC, there are tons of options, including lots of walkin and buy places. As suggested, there is Pantip Plaza. There is also Fortune Mall and I believe a large IT mall out in Zeer Rangsit. All of them overflowing with products you can buy off the shelf.

ok its at invadet too, is that walkin in hua hin

seems a new product just release has filled the dearth

might recheck all the other options i had previously searched too. might not have to go so far at all now.

    thanks guys. see ya.

  7. i dont want to tell you the exact product, suffice to say i have been looking for months and am unsuited. my particular usage requires a specific product. my only reservation now is if the shop is farang friendly. in the past i have walked in cash in pocket to buy a known visible product only to walk out moments later vowing never to buy anything from that particular shop until hell freezes over. its about 1 in ten of these IT type shops are staffed by thai who can/will actually sell farang things the rest are just there to enhance their face in thai opinion. fortunately there are also those frequent trips to visa malaysia where they actually do like money even if it is farang tainted.

granted it could be particularly my fault but i am not willing to change for their benefit.
