  1. lol @ BB gun in the safe... and then lol at the safe... yeah 3300 THB... thats gonna secure your valuables!

Besides most likely if you get robbed... it is by the local BiB. (or their friends). My advice... rent a safe at the bank... or buy properties instead of gold and BB guns.

Also if you want to fix something and dont want it to disappear get the chemical tabs (epoxy) not the plastic ones...

  2. My friend runs a small business and relies on shippings from USA by FEDEX. She has received many times a 'bill' form customs for taxes that was even up to 3 times the value of the goods. Go to the local office and you can protest it (with necessary paperwork) after a few days they will 'recalculate' your taxes.

    Its a pain... but TIT...

  3. Hi,

The files on your portable will need the program installed on every other computer you use...

OR you could convert the files to a more recent format (like PDF) which would make it easier for you to open since most computers should have acrobat reader installed.

    Good luck!

  4. Ok, I am kind of embarrassed to ask but here we go ....

I am a guy but I think posting this in men's forum would be pointless.... I need a woman's advice. So please bear with me...

My eyebrows getting to messy like a 'jungle' and start to get what some people call a 'uni-brown' to my dislike! I pluck it sometimes with tweezers but its never nice and 'clean'.

I would like to have it waxed to look 'clean' and nice but no where in Thailand they can do it... they all offered to shave it off with a razor... but I am opposed to that. In Europe I would go to a beauty salon where they would wax it so it looks nice and clean....

My question is ... where can i do this in Bangkok?

    Thanks in advance ladies!

  5. I use Belkin megabit 5 port switch... gets a little warm (like everything else in Thailand) but works very well. I do not know if they have it for sale in Thailand (bought it in Belgium on last visit home). I have seen Belkin start to have products in Thailand. Maybe in Phanthip.

  6. A red shirt spokesman said Thailand's cabinet ministers would have to walk across the blood on their way to work. He said the move was made in response to the prime minister's failure to meet their deadline to resign.

    (From http://www.abc.net.au/news/stories/2010/03...?section=world)

What do you think will happen? As soon as the blood has been 'spilled' (in the most literary meaning that one could understand spill! how else could you voluntary drop your on blood on the floor!?). The government house maid is gonna take out the garden hose and it will be gone in 2 minutes... (considering the drain is not stuck with some red shirts brains!)

  7. I say arrest the parents and the medical staff on grounds of child abuse who are taking blood from children! And this is like the stupidest idea EVER! This proves that many Thais are just like sheep...

The worst thing is that it doesn't prove or help anything, health risks (plenty!), and what kind of medical staff (supposed to be educated!) agrees with this idea?

On the other hand if they wanted to be symbolic they could have donated blood to Red Cross to show they are united and brothers (still have doubts). It would have been a better idea and they would have been seen as nice and caring.... now they just look like psycho retards...

I feel sorry for the King... he donated all his lifetime to the good of the country... so Thai people would be better and smarter. Thai people are just not ready for democracy!

  8. .....edited to shorten....

I am willing to bet Yingluck and the rest of them are also out of the country. What possible security risk does she face? Answer.....none. But there is safety in distance, no question about that.

    .....edited to shorten....

... but then "they haven't done ANYTHING wrong!" :)

..is the "Military junta" behind this all, after fabricating all this evidence, after "manipulating the courts",

after managing everyone to be and carry "biased" views and sentiments against the

"Nelson Mandela" of Thailand and his Family, who did their utmost to help the poor out of their immense suffering!?

The rally is organized by Newin as Chalerm points out... it;s a giant Conspiracy to shame his name, everyone envies him,

because he won the hearts of the entire Thai population they would vote hm by next elections with 100% into office, like Saddam Hussein, Kim Il Song, Mugabe they are soooo much loved, they always win, "democratic elections" by 100%! ;-)

I like your sarcasm! you referred to some nice examples!

  9. I did not even discuss people being paid... I am sure red as well as yellows were being paid somewhere...

What else would they live off?

My point is that Thaksin is asking the reds to assault the government... basically attack the government because I oppose it... seems like a dictator with no army support... well maybe sea deang will help him with that.

My point is Thaksin is provoking the current 100% legit government (made by coalition between elected parties after the previous majority was BANNED for BUYING VOTES, which was decided by the SUPREME COURT). now after provoking Thailand and threatening it with terror tactics he will of course take his family out and himself stay far AWAY from the VOILENCE. He would not want to stain his 5000 THB shirt with blood from taxpayers who he cheated of!

If he had any balls or even was right for 0.01% he would come and lead his ILLEGAL army by himself... what do you say Mr. Thaksin? Are you finally finished visiting China for the olympics?

  10. Some commentators should check their hypocrisy. It is no secret that Mr. Thaksin and his estranged family are targets. It makes perfect sense for these people to leave Thailand as the potential for a conflict where civilians are taken hostage or even murderedincreases with each venomous media report. What precautions do you think several cabinet ministers including the PM and military commanders have taken with their own certain vulnerable family members? The Thaksin family doesn't have the luxury of being able to hide out on a military base as some are doing. It makes perfect sense for people at risk to remove their families from the line of fire. The last thing anyone needs is some idiot taking someone hostage and making the situation worse.

What do you think would happen if someone attacked the PM's wife or the ex Mrs. Thaksin? That's how a civil war can start and its avoidable.

It's all very nice to huff and puff and call people cowards, but it is now standard operating practice to undertake these measures. People have convenient memories, but as 9/11 took place and in the days afterward, practically every leader in the western world had made arrangements to move children and spouses out of sight. That procedure continues to this day.

Be fair and do not let your petty hatreds pollute your thoughts.

What you are talking aboutis 2 different scenarios!

Thaksin and his cronies are fueling the reds, pushing (paying) them to be violent. On he other hand in your examples (like 9/11) where civilians were attacked by terrorists.

So Thaksin is pushing the poor to fight for him (while he's thousands of kilometers away and get his family away as well... If he was a victim then it would be a different story...

The best example to show what a blunt liar Thaksin is was songkran last year... where he called in and said to his 'people' in Thai to attack the government. Then on International news BBC and CNN he just says he never said to use violence...

Also about the 'bombs' and bomb treaths... that classifies as terrorism if you ask me...

he also said he was not financing the red faction until his ''come and get your 500baht'' blunder was shown on Youtube

    liar! liar! liar!

Indeed, thanks for reminding me! Liar, liar pants on fire! 555+

Now seriously, if his family and 'ex'-wife want to flee its their problem (although I doubt that they did not know what their daddy was doing...). Thaksin come to Thailand and lead the reds... show your true colors...

On the other hand I think this whole situation is a fued between a very small group of people where Thaksin was part of. Appearantly he got too greedy (trying to cut them off) and they got pissedoff. So he was kicked out... now Thaksin doesnt want to give in (pride and doesnt want face loss) so he fights them... believe this small group is the real leader of this country.

    just my 2 cents

  12. Hi Axelg, what you need is a Veypor unit on your new ride.

    post-63954-1266328736.jpg

They are only a third of the price of a Digitek.

Or you could spend a little more and get the VR2.

Don't know if there is a Bangkok agent.....but you could internet order for mail elivery from Canada.

You could try Kuhn Boyd at Chicane Motorcycles Bangkok. I understand that he is running aftermaket gear on his race Ducati.

    Just an idea.

I cannot find any information about 'Kuhn Boyd at Chicane Motorcycles Bangkok' .... any indication?

  13. Okay, how many of you got surprised on the last voting day by your tee-rak telling you she "have to go out to make the erection"...? I still kid her about that one. And she and her friends always have a good giggle at my Thai, especially the time I wanted to sit down on a Korean. (gao-li instead of gao-ee)

My wife wanted me to download a movie (about 7 years ago... i was in Europe where internet was still veeery slow in Thailand.)

She made ma a text file with all the movies she wanted...

in that list was a movie called 'erection'... guess what happened when i looked for erection in Kazaa?

Eventually i found out she wanted the movie Election....

Also the whetable (vegetable) and some other pronunciations...

But other than that not so much... she studied ABAC and in UK for a while... so her English was pretty dam_n good :)

  14. Thing is, I owned a CBR 400 from '92 before (with the original fairing). The bike was fine (except I had the spark plugs changed for new ones). I bought it from a guy who owns a small shop on Ladprao 80... he's quite known among Thais. (bought it for 60.000 THB i think about 3 years ago). The only problem it had was when it rained the bike would shut down. (bad wiring). I had them move the 'fuse box to under the fairing which fixed the problem.

Now this bike, I am very well off with the owner of www.118bikes.com (he bought one of my pups when my dog had pups.) he said the bike is fine... a little expensive but ok.

The serials in the book are the same as on the bike, we will go to the ministry together for the transfer (actually i am putting the bike on the wife name so I dont have to go there...)

I have also compared other bikes from same make and year on motorcy.com (thai motorcycle website) where they were around the same price range (if not even a bit more expensive). The chain in the picture and the chain in real life are different... he must have changed it...

I have seen the bike without fairing and all the electrical and tubing seemed fine. I had my friend from 118bikes have a look at it as well. He said same thing.... for 130.000 i could buy another bike that was not that old... but if i really liked this one then should be ok. I have found cheaper GSX than that one but they were from before '90.

I have testdriven the bike. clutch, brake and springs seemed fine.

Anyway i keep you guys posted

  15. HI all,

I am in the process of buying Suzuki Slingshot from 1992 (yeah its an older bike but my budget is limited).

The bike's 'fairing' has been changed to look more like a recent one. I used to drive a CBR400RR and now this will be 1100cc will I feel a lot of difference? Things I should be careful about? I would be driving in Bangkok only so no long distances.

As far as I know and see the previous owner (Thai) took very good care of the bike. He will change the tires (2nd hand ones but fairly new), change the oil and transfer the papers to my name. Price is 130.000 THB.

One thing that worries me is that he has modified the gauges and it only has the RPM gauge... He will give me the speedometer as well and he has guaranteed me it still works... he removed it because he wanted to have only 1 centralized dial... My question is, can I buy an aftermarket digital gauge and have it installed afterwards? or would that be too difficult to do?

Any experience and of feedback more then welcome!
