  1. Didn't see or hear anything.
  2. We've got one of those gas stoves in the house. Both burners worked perfectly fine. Then the gas ran out. Called the local shop we've used in the past, to change the bottle. Now the stove is behaving extremely weird. I am unable to cook. - I turn on the gas and ignite it, it stays on for a few seconds and then shuts off. - Same thing happens on small and large flame - As long as I push down the button to keep igniting, it stays lit. As soon as I let go, it shuts off. - There is a clicking sound inside the stove somewhere when it turns off. I don't know what that is. There's two of those in the stove, and they both behave the same way now. Both worked flawlessly prior to the gas change. Gas guy of course says his gas is fine. stove.mp4
  3. Does anyone have an up to date list of the exact official requirements for a Non-Immigrant-O Guardian visa (Thai children) for the Jomtien office? Much appreciated!
  4. Hello Does anyone know of a trustworthy car mechanic that doesn't invent random stuff and ends up charging you a fortune over and over again? Greatly appreciate good input here. Fan
  5. That is what I had been doing. And I got fed up with the inconsistency.
  6. I'd prefer my kids food not laden with sugar and preservatives. Freshly cooked food, obviously. Sorry I thought that goes without saying 😀
  7. I've been struggling to find a good, reliable, non-diarrhea inducing place that sells the most of basic local foods good for kids: fried rice, chicken over rice, pork leg with rice, etc. Suitable for kids. Clean. Available on Grab. West side if possible, but anywhere goes I guess. Any good tips?
  8. Went with Lalamove. Expensive, but they took it there same day. Door to door without having to do anything.
  9. Yeah there's probably a few things in there that we wouldn't want to get lost or thrown around. But interesting idea nonetheless!
  10. This looks great, didn't know about that. Thank you!
  11. Driven by whom. Loaded/unloaded by whom. Can't be me.
  12. Hello I need to ship ~60kg of clothing back home to the family in Isaan. We're in central Thailand. What is the best way to do this? - Cost - Complexity - Doable from home (pickup, etc) Any tips, experiences, etc would be warmly welcome Cheers
  13. Hello Our neighbor, after being married for 27 years, is now a widow after her husband passed away after a fairly long illness. They never talked about what happens if that day should come, and towards the end he was less and less coherent. She is now at risk of losing everything and ending up in the streets with nowhere to go. She has no idea what to do and if there is any inheritance, or pension she is eligible for, or anything else for that matter. She is Thai and has never lived in the US. What is a good starting point for her to look into what her options, if any, could be? She doesn't have liquid funds to pay for expensive lawyers and things like that. She has barely enough left for food. I'm not a US citizen, so I have also not really any idea how this all works, and what things are out there. Any ideas, tips, pointers would be greatly appreciated!
  14. Yeah. That happens a lot.
  15. Yes. Our household is purely Thai spoken.
  16. Central Thailand.
  17. And to be clear, I mean INTO THE HOUSE. Not into the yard or lawn or driveway. They walk right into the living room.
  18. 1. Neighbors, housekeepers, repairmen, friends, many different people 2. Yes, sure, but it feels silly to have to lock your door while you're at home. Also difficult to handle with kids as they go in and out a lot.
  19. Lived here for more than a decade and mostly happily so. But this one thing seriously annoys the hell out of me. Why does everyone feel like they can just walk into your property? There is a door bell. You can ring it. There is a door. You can knock. You have a voice. You can ask before you enter. But most people just don't give a damn and just walk right in, as if they owned the damn place. What the hell is up with that?! I am seriously asking. What are they thinking? It must be some cultural thing? But what on earth is the thinking behind it? It would never even occur to me to do this to someone else.
  20. Can you share an agent or contact privately? Would be great to have an alternate option
  21. That's a thought. We actually know some that have done it the legal route as well. It's possible and still pays way more than here.
  22. I can't see how anyone can survive with 2 kids at 10k per month.
  23. Shade tree? Is that a brand or chain of some sort?
  24. One male, one female. Female finished high school, age 21. Male has a mechanical engineering degree, age 26.
