  1. We called several visa run companies 2 hours ago, because we need to open our second part of double entry-tourist visa before 16th of September, and were planing to go to Cambodia on 14th September. Both companies said only Laos now. After some time one company called back and said to wait tommorow, may be tommorow information will be more clear, and it wil be allowed to cross Cambodian border for people with valid visas only (open 2d part of tourist visas, etc.) If now, on 14th we need to go to Lao, it our last chance to open second part of our visas. Its really awful! We were not planing to go to La and have plans(((

  2. Hello everybody! On the 15-th of September I need to open second part 2+1 of my double entry tourist visa. Its my third tourist visa. Someone recently opened the second part of the 2+1 a tourist visa for 6 months through Cambodia? Are there any problems? I heard from one man that on the border with Cambodia he was refused in opening of the second part 2+1 of the tourist visa, and he got only stamp for 30 days. Maybe someone else had encountered with the same problem? Are there other countries near Thailand where you can fly for example and open second part of the tourist visa without problems?

  3. Good afternoon! Im holder of Russian foreign passport where I have two in a row tourists visas which was applyed in Vientiene, Laos. First visa I ve got in October 2014 and it was finished in December 2014. And then I applyed for double-entry tourist visa again in Vientiene. Now I want to get third double-entry also in Laos. Can there be any problems with getting third one tourist visa? I heard about Savannakhet Consulate, that it is more loyalty. Is it really so? May be somebody have experience of applying third tourist visa there?

You will get a 30 day visa exempt entry when you arrive. You can get a 30 day extension at immigration of that entry.

If you leave and re-enter at a border crossing you will only get 15 days.

No we dont need stamp for 30 days. We are going on a trip to Cambodia for 2 days. It turns out if we arrive in Cambodia, the stamp 30 days will be cancelled and when entry back into Thailand by land we just get a new stamp but only for 15 days, right? We dont need to do re-entry additionally before arriving in Cambodia?

  5. Your double entry tourist visa was refused - And You only got a single entry!

I am going specifically to Vientiane next week to try and get a double entry - on my UK passport

I have only ever had one triple entry tourist and an OA visa from UK based consulates, but currently on extended retirement (runs out in 10 days time).

I was hoping to get a double entry to stay for four months (before returning to UK and 8 months stay).

Has anyone else been refused a double entry - And does anyone know what reason is being given when not allowing the double entry?

May be because I m Russian.I heard that many Russian people now have problems with getting double entry in countries near Thailand. In Russia in Thai Embassy no problem. I think you must not have problems.

  6. I had 3 double entries in a row, plus a single, all back to back, not a problem.

Best way to get it is to go to Savannakhet

I wasn't asked for any financial proofs...but they might ask you to show 20 000 B at the frontier when you go back to Thailand.

They didn't ask any of the farang last time...might be a good idea to not appear too poor to avoid having to show anything ? :-)Thank

    Thank you)

  7. whistling.gif I received a double entry, although it was my first tourist visa, in Savannakhet, Laos on 16 October this year.

No problems, and no need for funds to be shown there in Savannakhet.

I am an American, but that didn't seem to make any difference in Savannaket.

I also heard that in Savannakhet its more easy. You went by yourself our with visa run company? Because many visa run companies go to Vientine. If you have telefone of visa run company which go to Savannakhet can you please give it to me?

  8. Hello, Im from Russia. I want ask about experience of applying second may be more tourists visas in Laos. Now in my new passport I have only one tourist visa 60+30 which I also got in Laos at the begining of October. May be someone went recently in Laos and requested a second or third tourist visa in a row? Were there any problems in getting? May be need some additional documents (lease, return ticket) to accurately given another visa? It may also be useful then what I originally requested double-entry visa, but got only single. And I was not alone with the same situation. In the old passport, I had a double entry visa which ended in January 2014.

  9. One company which offered me a job in Thailand, said that I should send them money for tuition, payment of the consular fee for open work permit, airport transfer and payment of the first month of housing, only 323 USD. After that, allegedly, they will send me all the necessary documents for submission to the Consulate for an open work visa. And it will take time for 3 weeks. With my nationality I can stay in Thailand without a visa for 30 days. Because I don't really trust the fact that I need to send money to an unknown company, I wrote them ok, no problem, I already have a ticket to Thailand on 22 September, and then I have 30 days visa-exemption, in these period they have time to prepare all documents for NON-B, that I pay them all necessary charges in place and I will go for a NON-B visa in Laos, that last year I did exactly like that. They answered that this year, I have to get a work visa in my native country before arrival, because in Thai Embassy in Laos now problems with obtaining NON-B. I never heard about it!

Has anyone currently faced with some problems with getting NON-B visa in Laos, if you had all the necessary documents from the company? I know that my friends without problems received in Laos and Cambodia NON-B this summer. I suspect that this company lying to me in order to pull money from me! Help to dispel doubts please!

  10. Not understood at all, if I want to study in very ordinary language school in Pattaya, now in such schools it is possible to study only 90 days, since the visa is given only 90 days and no further renewals??? Then why is it anyone need??? How can a person learn Thai for 90 days?? Not everyone can afford to study at the Institute for 7000-10000 per month. They would close more than 90% of schools in Pattaya and in other provinces. Because of the quiet ridiculous nowawadays may suffer a huge number of normal students who came to learn and to spend money in their country. Already tourists who come once a year, afraid to go to them to relax, because their ridiculous rules they have intimidated and also a large number of tourists and people who had absolutely no relation to illegal work. What I find another country to travel and wintering!

  11. Can somebody explain in more detail about criminal record? If I apply ED visa inside Thailand, in Pattaya in language school, I need also to go to Bangkok and make police check there? And its possible only in Bangkok? At what stage of visa registration I must pass this check - before providing my documents to school, or before getting visa? Where is in Bangkok this police statement?

  12. Having just received my ED visa last week from the Thai consulate in Penang, it came to light that you need to make sure that your application contains the following:

    1. Minimum of 200 hours study

    2. Stating that you are studying a minimum of 4-5 days per week.

When I was there, it seemed that only one school out of the 5 schools applying for ED visas on this trip had the correct information. All the other schools, mine included was missing the 4-5 study days and hence we (17 of us) where denied our ED visas.

It seems that although this Law has been in effect for over 1 year, the consulate decided to enforce it fully the day we applied due to a memo being received by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Had I not pushed reasoning and with the consulate, I finally managed to agree they would issue our visas if our schools faxed them proof of 5 days schooling. We were very fortunate that and having talked from 11am to almost 3pm with the consulate, we all finally left with our ED visas.

I do find it a little strange that only one school from so many had the correct paper work. The driver who also takes care of the correct paperwork was not aware of this rule as were non of the schools from which their visa application failed. When the driver requested a copy of this new rule, he was denied. I was lucky to record the discussion on with the consulate my phone, getting names etc and requesting a copy of this rule which they would not supply. It was only after I threatened to go to Facebook and youtube that they finally caved in. They worked an additional 3 hours to redo all the ED visas that same day.

Please make sure your school is aware of this as you will not receive your ED visa without the above 2 points I have listed.

Also be aware that a very high percentage of visa runners are being requested to show 20K THB at the border so for your own good, make sure you carry this money with youth avoid problems.

Thank you for prevention! Its usefull information. Its mean that I must pay for 200hours, and chek in documents to have this information was shown there, before going for a visa?

  13. I renewed my 1 year ED Visa 2 days ago, no issues, exactly the same process as previous years

"I renewed my 1 year ED Visa ..."

Visas are not renewable or extendable. Either you got a new visa at an embassy/consulate or you got an extension of stay from Immigrations.

As posted by George at the end of last year:

Stricter requirements, new application forms for ED visa extensions

BANGKOK: -- The Ministry of Eduction (MOE) yesterday announced new, stricter requirements for Education visa extensions.

New application forms for education visa extensions have just been released.

    The new requirements are:

    and more ... http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/topic/691465-stricter-requirements-new-application-forms-for-ed-visa-extensions/

Two year visa history of the student now required - what does it means? diploma?

Walen School of Thai pointing out these new requirements... When I wrote letter to Walen School 2 weeks ago, and asked which documents is required, they answered: passport, 8 recent pictures
