  1. Hello

    Thanks all for your help!
I subscribed to the 59THB package for unlimited 512kb/sec for 1 week....

    But when I do *101*1*9# I get :

Your Happy internet unlimited 59 Baht/7Days on-top promotion for this usage period is valid until 00:00 on 12-Jan-15,
In this cycle, you have used Internet 0.05MB from maximum speed allowance 6.00GB of your on-top package...

Hmm, isn't this supposed to be unlimited? What happens after 6.00GB?

    Thanks :)

  2. Hi

Looking for comfortable house or appt to rent in Koh Samui

    No pool needed

2 rooms and 1 living room

Anywhere from Lamai to Chaweing including big buddah

Contract for 1 year in exchange of correct price. I pay 6 months upfront. To give an idea i'd like to pay 15-30000/month on annual basis. Depending of how comfortable it is.

    Thanks, please contact me.

  3. OMG all these rules changing is really a hassle.

First the immigration that gives sometimes 1, 2 month instead of 90 days

Then now the visa can be 6 months instead of 12...

If they want to stop this ED visa, do it. Don't hassle legit student, that can prove they learn thai and that can show they have enough money and don't need to work... :(

  4. unbonjoe,

Do you know if Vientiane or Savannakhet may deliver a double entry tourist visa on a passport that already had 3 years of Education visa?

Are these 2 embassy the most keen to deliver those double entry tourist visa?

Does it help to go at Vientiane or Savannakhet and let a visa agency do the job?

    Thanks.

  5. Thanks all for your different answers...

To clarify and add some remarks to some posts... :

    - yes my main goal is to stay in Thailand. I was also interested in learning some basic Thai, I did it, now I am still interested to go to school but I admit less than at the beginning. I know enough for daily life.

    - yes I would take TE if it was 100k/year (I am not sure to stay 5 years). It is only 3-4 times the price of ED

    - yes I understand they are suspicious 3 years of ED... especially seems they think some people with ED work... Yes I wish they ask to show a big account balance, I would gladly show them if it helps for sure and indeed helps to filter out those who work with an ED

In fact they may consider to allow anyone with a decent account balance to stay without too many hassle.

Anyway. I have think about all this (B visa, TE, ED, ...). I think I will do the ED even if it became a big hassle (getting it and each 3 months extension). At least it will be cheap and a hassle. Better than expensive (B) and a hassle, + borders runs.

TE very interesting but I can't spend 1M with my wife if I am not sure to stay about 5 years.

Visas is one of the minus/cons of Thailand, I know that. But most of the rest is amazing so......

  6. Hi guys, many thanks for the answer. (again I am under 50)

I confirm even for legit students, they really don't want more ED...

Some student in first year of Thai were asked to read/write after 3 months of Thai, which obviously is not possible.

So immigration gave only 2 months extension instead of 3...
Every day, stricter for sure, since a while.

I speak for Chaeng Wattana officers...

I think ED does not bring them enough money. Yes you pay school 25000 or so... not interesting for them, even if you spend your money there. I don't understand but it is like this. B visa brings them more money I guess, and even better for TE.

So, even if I had only 1 ED, I think this is the end of ED... it was very cool for 3 years and allowed to learn Thai.

I will get some infos, many friends on a B visa. Of course the best would be TE :)

  7. Hello

I have read it all and I am very jealous of you guys :) (TE members)

I struggle a lot and may take the TE too. But as we are 2 falangs I need to find 1 million :)

Indeed 100 000/year/person is not soooooo much. Only 4 times an ED (without many hassles). Only 2-3 times the Business visa. and only 1/1.5 time the "luxurious" Business visa where you have 4 staffs and you must not go out every 3 months...

But yes you have to pay 1 time upfront...!

    Who can confirm all this?

    Thanks :)

  8. Hello,

After 3 years of ED visa without problems, now looks like they don't want students anymore... hard to get the visa, hard to renew it... especially when you already had 3 in your passport....

Now my ED will expire, what other solution can I use to stay in the country? Under 50 years, not married with a Thai.... I guess the only solutions is Business visa? If I understood well there are 2 types, 1 you need to exit/enter every 3 months, another with 4 Thai employees, you can stay 1 full year without leaving the country?

No other solution....? Do you know the price for the previous 2 I stated? Is it 10000% legal? I don't want to have problems!

    Thanks
