Just a heads up for everyone, I went to the 60 days based on non o family / wife extension because of the covid-19 at Chiang Mai immigration today.
Even though I had all the paperwork and we got there at 8 in the morning it ended up taking more than 2 hours. The supervisor decided out of the blue that because I didn't have my bank statements from a Thai Bank even though my Visa with a multi-entry in I was never asked for that information when I originally got the Visa that she was going to decide whether or not she was going to deny me the Visa extension for 60 days.
After a bunch of back-and-forth showing her all my stamps and paperwork showing that everything's caught up invalid after 2 hours to finally decided to grant me a 60-day extension. I don't know if it's because of this office or covid-19 but I've never had a problem like this before and I've never had to show a bank statement for a 60-day extension before at this office.
So just a heads up in case you're going to Chiang Mai immigration office by the airport be ready to show your Thai bank statements for the last 12 months showing you have 40,000 coming in or 400,000 sitting in the bank. That is what she the supervisor kept telling me I had to do and when I eventually told her that a why did your government give me a Visa without asking for this information and now all of a sudden you want it that's when she finally gave us the extension.

Thank you UbonJoe for your help as always.

So with the borders closed and the amnesty looking like it's going to end on September 26th, my Visa is still valid until December 6th, being a multi-entry based on marriage, but my permission to stay expired in June, so theoretically I guess I'm still on the amnesty with the borders closed.
My question is, what are the requirements, what paperwork and documents do I need to bring with me when I head to the Chiang Mai immigration office.
My second question is do I need to go to the Chiang Mai immigration office by the airport or is it the office located at the Promada Mall?
Thank you everyone for the input and help.

Thai customs and UPS are holding my package in Bangkok , saying i need a licence for my phone to get it released. I live in Chiang Mai and dont know how with the covid 19 if i can even get to Bangkok. what to do?
-
So I'm supposed to do a border run to get the next section of my multi-entry marriage visa activated on the 5th, but with the borders closed what am I supposed to do?
What is the most current information if anybody can tell me?
Am I covered under that amnesty till July 31st or whatever it is, or do I need to go to the local immigration office here in Chiang Mai?
-
Yeah that's not the problem I've scoured the page over and over I've had other people that have successfully done it scour the page over and over and it still fux me overIt's easy to overlook a little check box. You may have to scroll to the bottom of the first screen to see one.
Choice of browser, extensions, etc doesn't seem to matter. Most people do ok.

Well I tried it a different points from the 15th day all the way down to the 7th day over the past year-and-a-half and have always had the same error. Today is day 15 for me I'm supposed to report on the 27th.whenever i see that error message, it's because i was filing the report too late which can only be done within 7 to 15 days from the 90th day of continuous stay. so i have done my past two reports exactly on day 83 of my stay.

The problem is I fill out the first page and then the error pops up and says basically can't go any further you have to contact the immigration office in your local area the standardized message that pops up.TVF folks can help you better if you could describe in detail what kind of issues you've been encountering with the online system. I have done two reports in a row and it's been perfect.

I thought about doing that but every time I use the Thai Postal Service I always seem to have bad luck. I've had quite a few things get lost in the post even when you pay the extra fee to have it tracked. Why not save yourself the hassle and just post it?

So I have a Non-O based on marriage visa extension.
For the past year-and-a-half since I got it I have never once been able to do the 90-day report online and it's driving me nuts. My wife literally has to take a day off of work or lose a whole day's worth of money and by time we drive to the Chiang Mai immigration office and walk in it literally takes 5 minutes or less to do the report.
Last time it took less than 3 minutes. I've tried doing it on my phone, on my wife's phone on her dad's. I've tried doing it on my laptop, my wife's laptop, her dad's desktop but nothing works. I've tried Firefox I've tried Internet Explorer, I've tried Microsoft's whatever the hell the new internet they have is and I've tried Chromecast and I've tried one other.
What is the problem. I've been in the system for almost 2 years now and every time I physically walk into the Chiang Mai office I never have a problem. Sometimes I hate that Thailand is so ass-backwards when it comes to technology. Anybody got any suggestions?

Just wanted to share my experience at Chiang Mai immigration today. Last month I turned in all my paperwork and got the consideration stamp while I was waiting for the Non O marriage visa extension. I went back today to Chiang Mai immigration office and I don't know if it was because of that policy that the government put out saying take it easy on retirement and marriage visa extensions but they took my passport didn't ask me a single question and I was out the door with my marriage visa extension stamp within 20 minutes no questions asked.

Starting Feb 1st, you can't do a walk in anymore. You need an appointment done online first. via their website http://vientiane.thaiembassy.org
Edit: Note the following FAQ shows the wrong URL for the appointment site. It is https://thaivisavientiane.com/#

This morning friend of mine went to the consulate to get a new tourist visa and on the bulletin board there is a new form stating that the Thai government will be checking each and every application and passport who applies for a tourist visa to see if you have too many tourist visas. They said that they will at their discretion start categorically denying people tourist visas that they think are working in Thailand under a tourist visa. And the further stated that anyone that looks like they're doing back-to-back tourist visas long-term will be denied a new Visa.

I forgot to add the whole process took me from 8 a.m. when we got there which was already packed to the gills and by the time everything was said and done it was almost 5 clock by time we left.

So me and my wife went to the Chiang Mai immigration office. It's been moved recently back by the airport from the mall. I think the unfortunate part about that is once again there's not enough parking and even though it looks clean and tidy it's chaotic and very very packed. Having said that even though it looks very chaotic the process is pretty simple. I got our que ticket and went and turned in the paperwork and when I talked to the immigration officer she wanted our copy of my wife's name change which means because it wasn't in the paperwork we didn't bring it so I had to drive home an hour and a half get it and they also sprung the surprise of wanting my bank statements on top of being able to use the US income verification form. It was a surprise to me because I had called the immigration office the day before and asked if I needed the bank statements because they're not Thai bank statements their US bank statements and they said no but as you can see when I got there it turns out you do now need bank statements every time .
So just to let everybody know, it seems like that's standard now that even if you have the income verification form ,you have to have bank statements. At least At the Chiang Mai office, they made that pretty clear yesterday. So we drove back and the immigration officer handed me off to another one and the lady wanted to deny my application because she couldn't figure out my u.s. bank statement , how to see how much was deposited.
One of her senior officers I guess bosses came over and looked at the paperwork and saw that between the two bank accounts I made enough to qualify for the yearly extension.
I guess the most frustrating part was as we were leaving , the officer told my wife in Thai that everything looked good but they may or may not have to bring me back for additional documentation , which I think is crazy because we handed over an inch thick worth of paperwork bank statements , marriage certificates , copies of passports ,the whole thing.
What else could they possibly want? Anyways there you go tentatively I got my visa extension because who knows if they'll add some other BS to try to disqualify people. So in the end make sure you bring everything you have with you just in case they try to say you need something else.

The only official from you need is a TM7 form and you will need 2 of them completed with all the required documents and etc attached to each of them. Download, complete and print 2 sided this Fillable TM7 form.pdf
The statement your wife will need to complete is not available for download. The others they may give you are simple forms that can be completed while they sort through your documents,
Here is my general list of required documents and etc. Marriage Extension Requirements 2.pdf

Just an FYI : I went to the US Consulate in Chiang Mai this morning to get my income verification letter for my non o marriage visa extension in Chiang Mai. I asked the the staff member who is from the US what the policy in the future will be starting next month and she told me this came from the lips of the consulate officer, she said and I quote "we do not have a definitive answer yet but that i was told directly by the Thai immigration that within the next 30 days the Thai government would be making a large announcement to help rectify what will happen after the income verification letter is not accepted anymore". To repeat this came from the us Consulate official this morning December 4th 2018.

So I got the u.s. consulate income verification form stamped and filled out today here in Chiang Mai. Because I had to take the green bus to get there and back I wasn't able to go to Thai immigration and get the marriage extension forms. Does anyone have the application and the accompanying forms that are needed to be filled out not just application but all the other stuff there's like I think 13 Pages worth of stuff. I'm going to immigration next week but I would really love to be able to print all this out and fill it out before next week.
Thank you in advance for your help.

Geez BritManToo. That step-by-step guide looks, humm, vaguely familiar. Almost like it has your signature on it, but without your signature. ????
BritManToo supplied the body of the step-by-step and the OP added clothing to keep it warm even if he didn't cite the primary source and credit BritManToo. So I will. <applause>
Overall, nice useful collaborative effort to make this guide for future travelers to Savannakhet seeking a MEMV.
Although the money-in-the-bank route works for me now, the winds of fate are fickle. At the end of the day this may be the way to stay in Thailand with my Thai family of 12 years, although I still think I'd go to Vientiane for the SEMV and obtain reentry permits locally as needed for the 90 day border runs to Mae Sai (or wherever). Mrs. Connda has family in Udon Thani so the road trip by car would be a nice, scenic vacation, plus I like Vientiane. Neat French colonial era city.Looks like forgot To add who I got a lot of the info from, I did add a side note when I posted on Facebook group. Sorry , Britmantoo and ubon joe . I got most of my info for this from the question I posted this week here .

I had edited my post since you did a reply to another post about the income affidavit.
I can recall your earlier posts about the PayPal problem. Could you move the PayPal funds to your US bank and then transfer 40k baht to a bank account here a few times before you apply?
No because the u.s. bank is that one that they give old people and disabled people. The Direct Express Account you can't add money to it you can only take money out that the government puts in.
Wife hasn't gotten paid in almost 2 months here in Chiang Mai
in Chiang Mai
Posted
So my Thai wife works for a Singapore and hi husband and wife operation that owns a dance studio and they have decided that they don't need to pay my wife or her co-workers for last month and it's starting to look like next month as well. They continue to give excuses as to why they can't pay but they seem to be able to hire a third admin and continue to pay the 12 teachers that they have contracted.
I got fed up with this and called 1111 and reported that her employer was withholding wages. If they actually do their due diligence they will find that more than half the employees at that company are working without work permits but I didn't mention that they'll find out on their own if they actually do their job. Cherry on top of all this is the fact that this is the third version of this company that they have had. Meaning the first two failed and who knows if they did the same kind of thing before with their old employees oh, so it seems like they have a track record for this kind of thing but we didn't know that when she got hired almost 4 months ago.
And the other thing was that when she got hired she signed a contract stating that when she made three months and was continued to be employed by the company she would get a raise from 10000 baht to 12000 baht. This week all of a sudden they brought her in and said instead of getting a raise they were cutting her hours down to five days a week and dropping her pay to 8,000. Which I know is a breach of contract, because they're continuing to employ her and she has passed the evaluation. Of 3 months she's legally owed 12000 month. So on top of everything they are f****** her out of almost $133 usd a month.
So the question becomes, until and if the Thai government actually follows through and investigates this, can or should we get an attorney to try to get the 20000 + baht she is owed by the company she works for for the past 2 months of work almost it will be 2 months on the 5th that she hasn't gotten paid.
